My son went here for a little over two years. If my wife did not have to relocate because of a new…read morejob opportunity, we most likely would have kept him at this location until he was ready to begin kindergarten. The owner, Ms. Cindy, is very kind and reasonable. In addition, she is very knowledgeable in regards to early childhood education and has years of experience in the field. When he began attending this school, he was in the young toddlers classroom, before moving to older toddlers and then Get Set, which prepares three year olds for preschool. His most recent teacher, Ms. Kim, is a gem. She's been at the school for over 10 years and it is very apparent that she loves what she does. She's not one of those teachers who views it as a job to collect a paycheck. She obviously has a passion for working with toddlers, which is what you want when you're sending your toddler to a facility and you're relying on others to attend to them for 6-8 hours a day. When we were having issues with potty training, she gave us valuable tips that we practice successfully to this day. She also taught my son Spanish, among many other valuable things. If we could take her with us, we would. She is the epitome of what you want in a teacher at an early childhood learning center. While enrolled at the school, my son had an accident in which he broke his foot. I was irate as none of the teachers were able to explain how it happened. Ms. Cindy worked with us and we did not have to pay a dime for the medical expenses. There were a few other little mishaps that can be experienced at any childcare center. For example, we would send him with breakfast in bowls labeled with his name and during one week, not one bowl came home. This was frustrating because parents are required to label their child's belongings and you expect said belongings to be returned. The tuition is a bit costly and food is not provided. It's something to be mindful of if you're thinking about enrolling your child.

Goddard made our transition easy and enjoyable. We absolutely love it. The teachers are fabulous, the hours are great and our boys are progressing SO much. We also love the app that they use which allows us to see what they are doing each and every day. There is no better feeling than dropping your babies off, knowing that they will be safe and happy. I would highly recommend this center to anyone.

She grew up in a home daycare ran by her grandmother, and appreciated the relationships her grandmother developed with the children that were truly loving. I attended a traditional facility based program that was more classroom-based and therefore better equipped in some ways, but far less personal. Most of the places we visited in Delaware fell firmly into one of these two categories. When we found Little Stars, it quickly felt like home. Ginny Cahill, the director, answered all of our questions with knowledge, experience, and care. Her mother is the director at the other location, located off Kirkwood Highway, and prior to that ran a home daycare for many years. The values of the home daycare experience shine through into everything Little Stars does. However, it comes tied with the manpower and resources of a somewhat larger program. Inside, there are classroom "pods" that have walls on three sides, but on the fourth corner connect openly to a center area. As a result the children and staff members are all connected as well, providing many opportunity for sharing experiences and friendship building. The teachers know all the students, not only their own. My son was enrolled at Little Stars for 3 1/2 years. The strong bonds that he developed with the staff members and other children could best tell you the story of how satisfied we are with this facility. He was well cared for and engaged throughout his time there, and will miss it significantly as he moves on to "big kid school". Both Little Stars locations are well-run, organized, and safe places to enroll your children. The teachers take a strong interest in the lives of the children, and better than most daycares, prioritize learning alongside play. I have trusted my son's well-being to them for quite some time, and will continue to utilize their service for needed vacation and in-service days. If you are looking for care for your child, I strongly suggest you check them out.

I also appreciate the fact that they hid my spot for enrolling until the end of the week. They didn't pressure me into coming to their daycare at the time of enrollment. In all they are good people and I trust the teachers and staff with my son who I love dearly. Don't hesitate just sign your kid up he or she will be in good hands! sincerely TB:)

Current director and a VP to the company have a written complaint against them for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. A SVP said HR is involved and there will be training; however, they all stand by a decision that hurt the victim of situations rather than help and attempt to make things better. The victim only suffered the true negative consequences by being removed to younger classes and curriculums and being told they were being removed due to not being allowed near the child that acted aggressive to them on multiple occasions. The child reported being choked. The parents tried to work things out. The child was suddenly kicked out and not allowed to return. Look into the reports. Ask for them. My overall review of Great New Beginnings in Newark is unsatisfactory. My opinions and comparisons…read moreare based on my experience with Kindercare. The only reason I left to go to GNB was due to the cost for two children, but I know now that with less cost it's less quality of service. I want to preface that GNB is currently struggling with staffing issues, like most in the education industry. I acknowledge that they are trying to do what they can with what they have. However, it still does not sit well with me when I expressed my concerns that my child is not learning the educational activities written in the lesson plans and curriculum. They listened but I was not heard. They acknowledged and knew that the lesson plans were not being followed in our conversation, but I did not see much change after that. Pros * Clean and tidy, very new building. * Classroom setting, like public schools. * Live video feed you can access. Timed access. * Well written curriculum with themeves. But not followed. * Teacher's licensing and most of the classroom information is posted at the front door. * Great security * Uses Tadpole app. * Breakfast and snack provided. BYO Lunch Cons * There is a written lesson plan, but it is not followed. Other than circle time, it looks like it's mostly free play. * Teachers didn't even know my son was arriving for his first day. There was no cubby set up for him. * There is no artwork to take home, again reiterating motor skills lessons are probably not being taught. * The bathrooms are adult sized, with only one stool for washing their hands and for the toilet. Most of the time I was there to pick up or drop my child, I did not see a teacher monitoring the children use the bathroom. * Minimal update on the app. I guess as they get older there are less updates. My prior daycare had loves of videos and photos to share. If you are not watching the feed you don't know what your child is doing. * The teach used her mouth to open some of the kid's food packages. * My son wanted to get comfortable for his nap and took off his shows, which he put next to him. However, the teacher put them back on him for his nap. I don't understand the reasoning behind this. It didn't happen with the new teacher. * The handicap door does not operate as intended. * My child has told me multiple times that other kids are hitting him. The teachers did say that they are working on it in passing when my son was telling me who hit him in class. He still talks about it after we have left GNB. He still names the kids that hits and pushes him. * Most of the front desk staff are not friendly. 90% of the time you are not greeted. No smiles, just feels cold and uninviting. * No automatic payment set up.
