Learning needs to be fun and engaging with teachers who care. I hope the teachers there now know they can have a lifelong impact on their students.

I was asked if I'd judge the 6 productions the company is doing during the 2013 season that began with Birdie. First, the venue is quite nice for doing a theatre piece, but it does have some drawbacks. The scenery changes had to be done very carefully as there are three steps that go to the floor. The youngsters and adults who were changing the scenery did so with flashlights so they could avoid a fall--quite understandable but something you don't see with most theatres. The sound in the church was very good. With some other theatres in Las Vegas, the person in the sound booth didn't turn on microphones quickly enough and some of the first words were not heard as well because the mic was not yet live. Given the nature of the "stage the actors did a fine job in moving in and around set pieces. At times, there were quite a few performers on stage which made the going a little difficult but they pulled it off well. I look forward to attending the rest of their season. The church is only 2 miles from my home and it's a pleasure to see the kids do such fine work. Oh, the adults did a nice job also!

I was a pastor for 22 years myself. Glad to see Christ centered focused churches like this one. Here are some of the positives I got from this service today. 1. Very focused on scripture and not showmanship or entertainment. They still sing hymns and preach expository. 2. Very welcoming and diverse community. 3. They focus on the supremacy of Christ, aren't afraid to talk about sin, repentance and redemption. The whole package not just the "feel good" tickle the ears of men sermons. Some of the things that I feel need improvement. Not to have a critical spirit but just some observations for potential growth and future newcomers. 1. Way too many distractions during the message. Kids, babies crying and people constantly going in and out during the message. Every church is different no doubt (my church in OC doesn't allow kids in the adult service) and some churches don't have the resources to have a separate kids service. 2. Message was too redundant and waaaayy too long today. Bless the pastor's heart and passion for Jesus and the Gospel, but it dragged and he was losing the congregation towards the middle of the message. The sound booth guys kept holding the 5 minute sign up, but he ignored it lol and they kept cutting his mic off to get him to stop preaching lol. That definitely needs to be addressed at their next staff meeting. Not that we should limit the gospel preaching but we should apply wisdom and discernment in every aspect of the ministry and services.

The ambiance here was welcoming. It was a full house and there was plenty of seating for everyone. This church is perfect for any special occasion - recitals, weddings, etc etc. This recital included four acts with one 10-minute intermission in between. Instruments included were a piano and a saxophone. My peer did a great job with her performance and I knew she put in a lot of time and effort to make this recital perfect and enjoyable for everyone.

She spent quality time sitting with them, reading Bible stories, comforting them, and even using her own money to provide special holiday crafts and activities for the children. Her kindness, patience, and pure heart were felt by every family who knew her. Many parents are deeply saddened and upset by how unfairly she was treated and fired, especially after the years of love and dedication she poured into this church and its children. The leadership and staff are extremely supportive and encouraging, and even physically participate in our Saturday distributions. My wife and I started attending several months ago, and we have officially become members of this wonderful Christian Family of Believers.
