I've been a member of only 3 different synagogues in my life, and this one is by far the most warm and inviting congregation I've been a part of. I wasn't thrilled with the temple we initially joined when we moved to Vegas, but wasn't too motivated to shop around either. That is, until 7 years later when I was pregnant (with a boy) and knew I needed to plan a bris. That's when I attended several different synagogues and literally felt "at home" with this amazing congregation. You can take as little or as much from Temple Sinai as you see fit for yourself, in that moment, with no judgement. It offers an all-you-can-eat buffet of things to choose from. Young families love the Tot-Shabbat, Sunday School, Friday Night Live, and bar & bat Mitzvah prep. As you age with the temple, so do the programs. There's a Chavurah group for just about everyone, a Men's Club, adult torah study, an annual Gala, dining out fundraising opportunities, regular mobile blood drives to support our local community, various philanthropies involving helping those in need, and the list goes on... and on! I have comfort in knowing that the facility is locked during business hours, requiring you to be buzzed in if you have a meeting scheduled. And security guards flank the entrance prior to and during services, offering a much needed level of security in a world of unknown. High ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows allow natural light to fill the air with a spirit that is hard to find elsewhere. Services here consist of fun music, traditional prayer, sprinkled with comedy and laughter that allow you to leave feeling lighter and a part of a community that can only be described as family. read more

Temple Sinai is the epitome of acceptance in Judaism. The rabbi is a mensch who knows how to connect with each congregant on their level. The staff is friendly and eager to help. Twelve or thirteen years ago, when we first moved to Vegas, we checked out this temple. We were hoping for a good match, since it's so close to our home. It wasn't. The building was barren and the Rabbi was a pompous egomaniac. We're not religious and not big into organized religion but, you know... Then we did a stint at the Conservative temple in Summerlin, attending Friday night services very occasionally, because it was a hoot - the Mexican rabbi and the then-cantor would do shtick, and it was pure entertainment. But nothing ever stays the same. After the cantor left, the iciness and cliquey lack of friendliness of the congregation was palpable, and there was no reason ever to go again. I don't think anyone ever spoke to us, and we're not shy. At Temple Sinai we attended a brief service during recent High Holy Days, and saw a building that had been renovated into a beautiful facility, complete with a new name. The old Rabbi was history, and the spot was now filled by a young British bloke. Even the congregants seemed more open. At that time we noticed that in December there was going to be a get-together that we thought would be interesting, and thinking that it was time to expand our social circle, we went. We were delighted by the friendliness, and encouraged to attend a Friday night service. This past Friday, we did just that, and it was lovely. The Sanctuary was all modern, light woods and contemporary stained glass. Two monitors projected page numbers, song lyrics, and some Hebrew, along with transliterations, on a pleasing purple background. Lots of English, helpful for those untutored in Hebrew, and a guitarist accompanying both familiar and new melodies added to the joyful atmosphere. The cantor-soloist has a beautiful voice, a gratifying change from the operatic voices usually possessed by female cantors. And the rabbi's sermon was short! At the traditional reception after the service, called the Oneg (not to be confused with a blood type!), we met more friendly and welcoming people, while snacking on coffee, cookies, cake, and fruit salad. And they even had high-test coffee, instead of the decaf-only at most temples populated by all those kvetchy old Jews whose lips are never violated by caffeine after 12:00 noon lest they "never sleep." While we may not become regulars, we look forward to participating in more activities at this delightful house of worship, where there is something for everyone! read more

OK so this is my temple. Temple Sinai is awesome you have to come and check it out even if you're not a member you'll be very welcome as a guest for any service or any activity just show up and you'll be welcome with open arms. It's a real treat to meet Rabbi Malcom Cohen. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting him from the first moment you shake his hand and start talking about the awesome stuff that we do here at Temple Sinai. The Friday night Shabbat services are enjoyable with a mix of both music and Hebrew and English. The Saturday morning Torah study and service that follows are great if you want to go deeper into studying the Torah with the Rabbi. The synagogue has a very active youth program. So if you have children that are in the seventh through 12th grade this is a great place to introduce them to a vibrant youth Jewish life. Finally you're going to love the facility. The new facility was built just a year ago and it is fantastic come and see us. read more

Temple Sinai is a wonderful Reform temple! I grew up in a small Reform temple on Long Island, which I love. Temple Sinai is the first temple that I have gone to that has begun to feel like home since leaving Long Island 8 years ago. There is plenty of music, and the services are filled with personalization and fun. Rabbi Cohen and Heather, the cantoral soloist, are both great! My family and I have been welcomed with open arms, regardless of our membership status...including temple activities with the sisterhood and brotherhood. I went for the first time with my Fiancé to high holiday services. I have never felt more welcomed and accepted what a wonderful place! The staff was so helpful in purchasing tickets and answering all of my questions. We are actually going to become members! If your looking for a warm jewish atmosphere don't go here. I went there just looking for more information. Possibly become a member...they speak to u through a ring doorbell. Also I went to a service and it was like being at a preschool daycare. They do not worship or do any praying. They sing children songs. and say it's "for the kids". That would be fine if they were friendly. Very sad these people are playing the roll and stereotype of typical "Jews" to a tee. Very sad. read more
