What made this most interesting to me was the fact that this building didn't look like any synagogue I had ever seen before. If anything it looked like a small church --- the type you've seen on Little House On The Prairie. But clearly its always been a synagogue. I would have loved to have gone inside to check it out, but unfortunately it was closed and as I said, our time in Beaufort was extremely short (approximately 1 hour). If I ever do make my way back to Beaufort, I'll be sure to make sure I have the opportunity to get inside.

I was looking for a hotel, and for some reason Siri drove me out of the way to this synagogue. You couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people, the Rabbi, the Cantor, everyone that is there is wonderful. I really believe that God somehow brought. if you're looking for a nice synagogue with all ages of people who make you feel so welcome I suggest you give it a try and go there. I came from a mixed family of my mom being Jewish my dad Christian and my ex was a non practicing Muslim, what a mixed up family. I never felt quite like I fit anywhere so I'm not really religious, but I believe in God with all my heart soul mind and always felt my Jewishness. Like I just know that's where I belong. The strange part is, I am very shy, and at this time in my life I have no family at all. Walking into that synagogue made me feel like I had friends. I want to thank them for their kindness. If you're a practicing Jew you will love this synagogue and if you are like me coming from a family of mixed religions and 1st and 2nd generation Americans this might be the place for you.
