They installed our hardwood. Their typical install includes removing the baseboards so it goes all the way to the wall (which is what we were told we were getting). This didn't happen. They did a cheaper and quicker install route. They just nailed a strip down next to baseboards to cover the gap. (Again not what we were told we were paying for). To top off the terrible service in saying you'll do one thing then doing another... they did a poor job installing. They left one strip completely off the wall? (In the picture) They also left a small gap behind the toilet. Plus, left a tiny gap between the wood and shower. Can you imagine the water getting in there and causing mold? First I want to say, I love working with Courtney! She was super helpful and let me bring 9 Large samples home. She never rushed me in returning the samples. The quote came back and we decided to go the home equity loan route. When things didn't work out due to a policy that Bank of America Had about having the house in the market in the last 6 months, we disqualified. We told her that another credit union had a 3 mo waiting period and she was very understanding. She went ahead and proceeded to keep our original install date, even though we hadn't gotten the loan. The workers are the best. They removed all the tile (all of downstairs for the most part). They brought in a machine they call "The terminator" They made a special molding for the fire place since , after the carpet was removed, it would have left a gap. My house was to be finished in only 4 1/2 days. The only reasoN why it isn't done is because I wanted a stairway skirt. I didn't realize that base boards for the stairs weren't included. But the workers quickly stopped, realizing that I had a vision that required a carpenter's work to be done prior. Basically they said, as soon as I am ready, and I get my stairway skirt, they will come back and finish, but they want me to have the staircase that I love. Super accommodating and they have been fun to have around! read more

Still living with the crappy job that they did several years ago. The wood floor bounces in places (and when I say bounces . . . The furniture bounces too), there are gaps that are impossible to clean - which sucks because it's in the KITCHEN! They were miserable to deal with. I have finally saved enough money to replace the flooring. I, like Suzie, would prefer not to write a bad review; however, we did try to have the problems remedied to NO avail. read more

We have been going back and forth for MONTHS. Here are the issues: *Severe buckling at the joints of our planked floors appeared within 2 weeks of install. *Two large gaps between joints appeared within 2 weeks. *During installation the cuts were made INSIDE the house. It took me many 12+ hours to clean, there were some other issues but I don't want to nitpick. I am very unhappy with their postponing the resolution of this. Their current position is that the buckling is from water damage due to my "excessively moist concrete." If all my concrete is excessively moist, then why is the floor buckling only in a few places? The rows of buckling floor boards directly correspond with "failure to include proper expansion space from the flooring to the cabinetry" according to two professionals who have looked at it. Today I finally contacted my insurance company. I am hoping Templeton Flooring will resolve this issue without wasting any more time. read more

I dislike writing bad reviews without notifying the company of the issues directly, but this entire experience warrants it. Don't waste your time or money here. Their storefront is cute and well stocked, and their salespeople are friendly. Beyond that, the product, installation, and customer service are terrible. When my husband and I went to TFC to shop for carpet for our new home, we were sure to make our needs clear about the young puppy in our family. We were attracted to the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet by images of all sorts of fluids puddling on top of the carpet as well as their Zoo Challenge. After settling on the carpet, we were shown only two options for the pad, neither of which were high quality like we had seen in other stores. We are not carpet experts and did not know the criticality of purchasing a pad with a vapor barrier. We relied on the sales professionals at TFC to educate us on their products available. Only after the installation and associated problems were we told that they did have other, higher quality options available that weren't presented to us because TFC discourages "pushy" sales tactics. As anticipated, the puppy did have three accidents in our living room. All three accidents were cleaned promptly following guidelines and product recommendations provided by Mohawk and, later, TFC, but the urine would resurface. Despite our "by the book" efforts, the top-of-the-line and spill-resistant product I purchased is now saturated with urine from my puppy. After not being able to address the issues, TFC recommended that we file a warranty claim with Mohawk. Mohawk sent a third party inspector who informed us that we had urine under our carpet, and there was nothing he could do from there. The inspector informed us that we did not have a vapor barrier-equipped pad, which would explain the persistence of the urine. He affectionately calls the type of pad we were sold "maxi pads" and that these would defeat the effectiveness of the SmartStrand carpet. Given that TFC is a Mohawk-authorized dealer, this seems like a negligent oversight. Even after the warranty inspection, TFC has continued to shirk responsibility and claims that we need to continue with the arduous warranty claim process. After a professional carpet cleaning, as recommended by the Mohawk inspector and TFC, the urine continues to wick from the saturated pad to the surface. At this point, I'm also concerned that my subfloor may be damaged due to the persistent exposure to acidic moisture. The process to have this remedied by TFC has been slow, frustrating, repetitive, and ineffective. It's been over half a year since we made our complaints known to them, and we have now lost hope. We're out $3,000, have ineffective product installed throughout our home, and a urine-soaked sponge in our unlivable living room. Peripheral Complaints: Trouble with scheduling - I went to TFC with the hope of having new carpet installed quickly since I wanted to delay moving furniture into the home until after new carpeting was installed. We were told they could install within the week after placing the order. Sadly, mishaps in scheduling led to over 2 weeks of delays. The installation was delayed twice due to the carpet failing to be loaded on the delivery truck. After rescheduling to a new install date, my husband and I had installers appear unannounced on the wrong morning, thinking they were there to install. We had to turn them away to come back on the agreed-upon date since we both had work obligations that day. Hidden fees - My husband was very disappointed to learn at the end of the installation that the installers wouldn't clean the shreds of carpet and padding left throughout our house unless he paid them an extra $100. Why was a clean-up charge an unmentioned fee? If this really is TFC policy, why wasn't I told about it in the store? If it isn't TFC policy, were we being fleeced by the installers? He turned them down and spent his afternoon cleaning up after them. Poor workmanship - Some corners of the carpet were not fully secured to the ground and were pulling up until we pressed them into place ourselves. Many edges, particularly in main transition areas, had staples protruding through the carpeting in a way that hurts to step on them. My husband has notified them of all these complaints by email and phone and has received no replies or follow-ups from TFC beyond the warranty referral. Despite wanting to support small businesses, this entire saga has been demoralizing and exhausting. We just want to be done with this and, even now, there seems to be no resolution in sight. read more

I had my living room recarpeted just before Christmas. The customer service at the main office was minimal. The personnel in the store were too busy working at their desks and doing paperwork to be of much use. Any questions asked were met with attitudes that relayed they were too busy to be bothered with, with minimal answers. I had to keep disturbing them from their work to get help every time I asked a question. As I very much wanted new carpet before Christmas, I went ahead and ordered a top of the line Stainmaster brand of carpet. I also requested top of the line padding with a leak-proof barrier. The day came for the installation, which I was told would take about two hours. The space was about 11 X 12 feet. The appointment was for 9 a.m., so I allotted an extra hour and a half knowing that most contractors are not on time, and for an extra hour of installation as well. This would have put me at work no later than 1:30. No one showed up, so I had to call the main office, and I was told the installer was running late from another job. About an hour later, my sales person showed up with an installer. As I was in the next room while they were working, I overheard the installer say that he had planned on showing up just before noon, so he would be done by the time it was time for him to pick up his paycheck at 3:30 at the main office, so he would not have to wait around town to pick up his paycheck. The salesperson then left the installer to do the job. He also pieced together very small pieces of the leak-proof padding to make it fit. The pad was also very thin, which I was unhappy with. When I questioned this, I was told that it did not matter, it was only padding. They would not do it any differently, even when I called the main office to complain. As a matter of fact, the installer was yelling at the salesperson on the phone, stating that it 'was just padding!!!' All in all, the installation took 6 hours, which cost me an entire day off work, and the pad is very thin and pieced together underneath when I paid for quality leak-proof padding. The finished product does look good, but does not have the 'sink-in' luxurious feeling that I wanted. This was the first room of several that I plan on replacing flooring in my house, and I definitely won't be giving the rest of the business to Templeton Floor Company. read more

I'd like to also add that prior to purchasing this carpet we asked the sales rep if it was compatible with Dyson vacuums (I had read online that it may not be.) We own 2 Dyson vacuums and would rather not have to replace them as well. She assured me that it would work for sure and not to worry about it. Well it turns out that the carpet she sold us is NOT compatible with Dyson vacuums. After speaking to the Mohawk rep, she assured me that I was misinformed and gave me the name of the only 2 vacuums that are compatible with the carpet we purchased. Now we have two $400 vacuums that are useless and have to turn around and buy another $300 vacuum that works with the new carpet. This is yet another reason why I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

Everyone at Templeton Floor Company was super helpful and a pleasure to deal with. When my husband and I first started out trying to choose a type of flooring we were all over the place. We talked with them about all the choices and the pros and cons of all of them. We were really concerned with choosing hardwood (engineered) since we have two large dogs and live out in the country. The ladies reassured us by letting us go through sample after sample (took them home) until we finally settled on the line of engineered hardwood that we wanted. We probably brought home every color available in the line until we choose the perfect one. The floors were ordered and installed in about two weeks. That timeline was perfect for us since we still had a few things to do before the floors were installed. They offered to have them installed sooner, but we had to decline since we weren't ready. I could see how that would benefit some people though. The floor installers showed up right on time. They were awesome. They had the floor installed (~900 sq ft) in one day. One guy came back the next morning to tie up a few loose ends that included lining up the carpet in the bedrooms to the new floors that had been installed. Thanks to Tony Stuart Floors. I would highly recommend them! Overall, my husband and I love the floors. The floors look beautiful and are holding up so well to our dogs running and playing on them. I have not seen one scratch. While I know this in inevitable with hardwood floors, I am relieved to know that we have floors that will hold up to our everyday lives. Thank you Susie, Diana and Judy for your continued patience and excellence customer service. We went to every flooring place in the county and no one compared in terms of price and quality. Having to do an unexpected complete renovation of a bathroom was something we didn't expect. But going through the entire process from framing all the way up to flooring and fixtures, I have to say Templeton floor company was the easiest to work with. Everything including pricing went smoothly. Great prices, friendly customer service, they had exactly what we wanted available, and even offered to drop my flooring off when my transportation fell through. My husband called and spoke to Diane at Templeton Flooring and scheduled our carpet to be installed on December 4, 2014 @ 8am at our new home we purchased and were moving into. After waiting until 9:30am and no show we called Templeton Flooring and found out she had scheduled us for December 11, 2014. My husband told them we needed someone out there that morning since we were moving in and needed the installation done. Turned out a couple of their installers had been sent home due to their job had been cancelled due to the rain.They were called while they were heading home and asked to do our installation. The job was to install three bedrooms of padding and carpet. One of the installers told me that the padding that was there was better in his opinion then what we had purchased and he would leave it. I told him to go ahead and leave the padding. After installing two bedrooms of carpet, they told me that there wasn't enough carpet to finish the third room. We had measured wrong. The installer told me how much more carpet to buy and he would seem it at the back of the room so you wouldn't see it. I asked the installer if I should just pay for the two rooms or pay for all three of the rooms when they were done. He said to go ahead and pay for the three rooms and once I had the carpet to call and reschedule. Both installers said they lived in the same area we lived so they could stop by and install the room, no problem. I went ahead and paid for the three rooms. I purchased the carpet and my husband called Diane back to schedule the installation. She said she would need to call him back, which she did not. After a couple of days, I called and spoke with her and she told me the same, that she would need to call me back and she never did. I called once more and she once again said she would need to check the installers schedule and call me back, never heard from her. At this point we needed the carpet installed so we called a installer from craigslist and he came out that day. I called Diane and spoke to her about getting a refund for the third bedroom installation which they never did. She said she would have to check with the owner, which was out of the country until the following week and she would get back to me. Guess what, that was almost a month ago and I still have not heard from her. I understand our job was a small job and maybe they didn't make a lot of money from it but I would expect better customer service. I sure won't be calling them again and most definitely will be letting my family and friends know what terrible customer service they provide. read more

It took three trips for them to fix a seam in my carpet one month after it was installed. Now the carpet is bunching up and needs to be re-stretch. Over the past three months I have called them four times to honor the three year warranty they said I have. Each time I called it seemed like I was annoying them and as of this date no one has called me back. I would not recommend this company to friends or family. They do not stand behind there workmanship. I will be hiring someone else to do the work and send them the bill and take them to court if I need to. Shame on you Templeton Floor Company. read more

Judy Rueff of Templeton Floors gave us expert advice and assistance in recovering from two successive water damage repairs. The first time, over a year ago, our dishwasher failed and we had to replace Kahrs engineered flooring throughout the house, which took five days. The Templeton floor installation team was very considerate, helping us move furniture around so they could do their work. The workmanship was first class. The second time, a valve failed under a bathroom sink, and we had about 100 square feet to be replaced, but there were tricky edges to follow. Again, the crew was very considerate and did excellent work. Dealing with Judy was a pleasure throughout as she knew exactly what to suggest, phone messages and emails were answered promptly, and things happened when she said they would. read more
