This church feels much like an "Evangelical Free" church that speaks Arabic. Very friendly w/o being pushy. They welcome everyone in and only stipulate that to become a member you must have accepted that Jesus is God's sacrifice for our sin & the Bible is God's revealed word. Anyone may attend and some Muslim families do because they are friendly and welcoming. English service is at 11:00 & Arabic (with English translation) at 12:00. The gymnasium is nice with polished floors. There is a cafe area in there also where we usually have our meetings that is set up nicely. My daughter went here one summer for their summer camp, and when she was in dance, her practices were here also. Inside one of the buildings is a theater. She really enjoyed the place. Everyone that I have encountered are pleasant. There is an upstairs where there are other rooms available for different uses. I do believe you can rent the facility out on an hourly rate.

This is a Spanish language church, and a popular one as well, located right at the corner of Harwin and Gessner. It's popular and cute and quaint and friendly. I only speak a little Spanish but Barbi and her family are fluent, and this is the Church of one of Barbi's family members, so she brought us here recently. We were impressed and appreciate what they're doing here.

The crap that comes along with going to this church, is what you have to fight through in order to enjoy being a member. If you have children under 5 years of age the children's ministry is fairly decent, but as they get older it is more of a holding place where they make the kids sit down and watch the pastor on the TV instead of them being in the sanctuary with you, the parent. My children hated going to the children's ministry for this reason. many of the African American females that volunteer are straight forward and sometimes downright rude. It is pitiful that they don't train them on how to be more pleasant instead of brining their worldly attitudes to the house of God. When deciding to tithe...know your limit and purpose in your heart how much you will give monthly. many of the churches in Texas can nickel and dime you to death. Don't get caught up with all the activities that require you to pay. do not feel bad about not going to the birthday parties they throw for someone they deem important in the ministry either. $50 tickets? I don't think so. Church is what you make it, get through the bull and get your word. Plant it in your heart so that no one can take it. I visited many churches in Texas and it is very difficult to find one with everything you want, but this church will give you the Word you need.

We don't go to church and have no intention to start anytime soon, but a lot of Barbie's Catholic Mexican family swear by various churches in the area - mainly in the Northwest - and this is one of the ones that we've checked out on a couple of occasions with one of her cousins, and we thought they were friendly and it was a like a little community and less about the word of God and more about hanging out with your people, which we definitely appreciated.
