Stopped on my slowly drive back to Buffalo, NY. From Grandma's pantry, to the country canner, antiques, toys, gifts, to the quaint diner. Something for everyone. I loved the Country Canner and Grandmas Pantry, for its nostalgia variety of items.

I didn't have any particular item that I was looking for, but boy did I get some goodies. This will take you a few hrs to walk thru, so plan accordingly. I bought popcorn on the way in, and it was indeed good. Very clean, and alot of shops to wander around in. I went straight into the quilt shop and bought some beautiful material. I plan on making some pillows in the near future. Wow the quilting shop was one for the books, I could have stayed in there for hrs. So many crafting ideas and nice material. They ladies do offer classes, or can tell you who does in the area. They have antique shops, puzzle store, cook ware, toy store, decor and food for purchase. Im sure I missed a few things. This is a must stop if your in the area. All the shops seemed amazing and reasonable priced. Lots of parking, and everyone was welcoming. I met a few fellow antique collectors along the way.

From plant lovers to Schitt's Creek fans, to dog and cat parents, to social activists - if you need a gift, The Lady Jane has something perfect for them! Highly recommend getting some things for yourself too while you're there. The stuff is hard to resist! I recently needed to buy a gift to ship out to a friend and I was so excited to see that The Lady Jane now offers online ordering and shipping. I accidentally put in the wrong zip code when I placed my order and Sara at the shop called me to confirm the correct address. She even offered to include complimentary gift wrap and a note! You don't get that kind of service at a chain! Sara is a gem. She is so sweet and provides the best customer service. The whole store is such a delight to walk through because everything is so carefully curated and beautifully displayed. Shopping online is wonderful too and I'm thrilled to be able to support this small business even though I no longer live in Harrisonburg.

Walking in, it was almost what I expected to see from a Ross. Disarray everywhere you looked. I went to the houseware section to take a quick peak, no luck. I went to the men's section and to look for both socks and shirts. It's hard to find cotton socks here or at competitors like this. The shirts, were really lacking. A lot of regular old shirts, but nothing in the line of long-sleeved dress shirts. I had to make sure to watch where I stepped in here as there were items and hangers on the floor. It was too much for me and I made a quick exit.

Former Employee Review - Ross Dress for Less…read more I used to love Ross for its wide selection and the thrill of finding new treasures - until I worked there. It became the most toxic work experience of my life. Management Issues The store manager, who has been there over 10 years, is rarely present (often helping other locations). However, when she is on-site, the atmosphere becomes oppressive. Fear permeates the aisles. Despite being punctual, a team player, and consistently going above and beyond, I rarely received the positive feedback or recognition I deserved. Scheduling Problems - Schedules posted as late as one day before the work week often. - Hours changed without adequate notice or employee consent. - Despite working full-time hours as a part-timer and requesting full-time status, I was told only managers and those with open availability qualified - yet new hires were brought on as full-time employees the following week. - Inconsistent scheduling practices created constant uncertainty and it was impossible to have a good work life balance. Workplace Culture Established cliques among long-term employees compete for preferred positions and shifts. The environment feels exclusionary and politically charged rather than collaborative. Operational Challenges The store is chronically understaffed, leading to: - Long customer wait times and frustrated, sometimes hostile customers - Frequent employee call-outs and no-shows - Those who show up consistently shoulder disproportionate workloads - High turnover - some employees quit without notice My Experience I tried nearly all entry-level positions and demonstrated capability for advancement, but the toxic management style and poor treatment of staff made staying untenable. I am happy that I left as I hear that things are still the same or worse. Final Thoughts I can no longer support this business as a customer, despite having been a regular shopper for years. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect in their workplace. Unfortunately, this appears to be a systemic issue across many Ross locations (also experienced working in another Ross store in another state with similar issues), not just this one. It's truly disappointing when a company's internal culture contradicts the positive shopping experience it tries to provide customers. So do not believe their posters. These are just words.

They have a small assortment of crystals- not as extensive as Little Shoppe of Crystal's in Staunton (if you're into crystals I recommend you check that shop out!) or The Green Cauldron in Charlottesville. Not sure if this is an everyday thing or was a special occasion type deal. Worth a visit if you're a local or visiting the area!

I was so beyond impressed and excited when they told me that was purposeful, and, what's more, that they make it a point to sell things made by POC and queer folks. On top of that, they have an amazing array of crystals, including some very unique carvings that were absolutely lovely (like a little toadstool house!), and pretty much everything else you could want from a metaphysical shop, including some handmade incense that I'm burning right now that is delightful. Also, I'm always treated so kindly by everyone there, who've all been an absolute delight to talk to and so helpful. If you like metaphysical shops or even just pretty rocks and nice smells and pretty decor items, you must give this place a visit!
