Great place! Very good selection and organization. This place has everything. Prices seem pretty fair also. Lots of vintage items.

Checked out the thrift store section but didn't find anything worth purchasing. However, their large book section was fantastic--I picked up some great reads! Definitely worth a visit if you love books. read more

Was going to buy some stuff as we're not from the area, but they have a broken bookshelf with a whole bunch of heavy baskets full of comics, with a NON STURDY shelf. Went to bend down without holding onto the book case & I guess the slight movement of the shelf beneath caused the whole basket of comics to smack me right in the chest. Employee didn't even ask if I was okay, just asked if I leaned against it CAUSING IT. You really think I'm that stupid to hold onto a broken shelf? Learn some manners here & how to fix stuff. If my chest has any bruises, we'll see whats next considering the employees dgaf. read more

Very organized and clean, reasonable pricing, and excellent turnover of stock so there is always something new. This place is an excellent shopping experience for someone who enjoys a semi-curated thrifting experience. If I had a wish to make it even more perfect, I'd have them sort the clothes by formality and size instead of color and size, and be more willing to split up china sets & furniture sets. The biggest pros though are how easy to navigate the store is, how tidy and how nicely they set things out -- labeling electronics for example based on if they have been tested and found working, or board games whether they have all the pieces + instructions. Gift & Thrift is the best thrift store in the area. Their items are incredibly well organized and they have a great selection of clothes, home goods, furniture, craft supplies, sewing supplies, kids toys, and books at great prices. The staff are incredibly friendly. read more

I've been shopping at Gift and Thrift for years, and they have gotten so ridiculously high in their pricing that it's just discouraging. I've seen some items not leave the shelves for months and some upwards towards a year, so no wonder they have days where things are half off just so they can move inventory. You can tell whoever prices the items doesn't really know what they're doing, some things are priced very reasonably for a thrift store and others makes my jaw drop being that this place gets everything for FREE. The staff need to do better. read more

I love thrift stores but this is the best one. There are usually certain things I need and when happen to go shopping right there is the item I need. I have always loved this place and I'm shocked I haven't reviewed it before now! You never know what you're gonna find here but most often it's some awesome appliances or a unique piece of furniture. They also have an amazing selection of books for everyone. We often get our kids books here! read more

Well-organized and large clothes selection organized by size, color and clothing type (dresses, tops, bottoms, etc). Good selection of brands, including some Talbots, Jones of NY (I scored a pair of like-new Jones shorts for $1.75!), Express, Old Navy, etc. Many formal and semi-formal dresses and a very minor amount of vintage stuff (maroon red wool coat with mink collar anyone?) They also have a large book selection and some magazines as well. The prices, organization and condition of the items make this a worthwhile stop. Some furniture, textiles and toys as well. The kids clothing sections were noticeably lacking in comparison to the other sections. Staff are friendly and helpful. Three changing rooms. read more

I have found this place to be the best thrift shop in Harrisonburg. It is very clean, organized, and has a wide variety of items to browse through. I always find myself caught up in the Book Savers section of the store- always something new over there, and as a teacher I especially love the wide array of children's books they have. Great place to spend your money and help out a good cause. read more

Gift & Thrift is the best second-hand store in this area, bar none. The staff is lovely. The atmosphere is neat and clean, the prices more than fair, the selection in every department above average. I don't think I've ever gone in and come back out empty handed. If you're a reader like I am, the book area is borderline dangerous (with an especially large array of Christian nonfiction). They also have special racks for vintage clothing. It's glorious, really. read more

I love going to this place. I visit their 2nd hand book section which seems to have been expanded over time and is reasonably priced. In addition to the book section, there are the usual 2nd hand store items including clothes, trinkets, etc to look at that seem to be screened by their volunteers (I believe) for their condition. A fun place to visit that benefits a good cause. read more
