The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. When we're in the Cadillac area again, we will no doubt make a point to get back to DGS to stock up... Two thumbs up.

I went inside to tell the manager they had a faulty pump and he said I had just chosen the wrong one to use. He said the owner already knew of the problem and had done nothing about it. He said call later when owner would be there. So I did and the person on the phone said the owner would not be in today. The man told me to just live with it. Make that no stars.

Firewood at the going rate of 4 dollars a bundle -- enough for a nice evening's fire and smores. Papanos pizza inside. Don't be fooled -- this is not gas station pizza. This place is our go-to establishment for essentials for our occasional weekend up in that area.

On the few occasions that I do go inside, folks here are courteous and helpful. However, one of my favorite reasons to stop here is because they carry the Ice Box ice cream bars. They are a little expensive but taste awesome. Not many convenience stores carry them but it seems that the EZ Mart chain does. They are a great reason to stop to fill up on gas... even if you don't really need to do so.

There is a wide variety of places to eat, different cuisines, something for everyone. There's not only an awesome looking bar there, they have a Burger place, Asian cuisine, Mexican, Soul food. Upstairs there is retail space - a tattoo business, a salon, fitness and photography company's. The decor is beautiful, and there's a good amount of seating. On a busy Friday night it was a bit hard finding a place to sit, but during the morning or lunch it was fine. It definitely gets very loud on the first floor when it's busy. There's plenty of parking in the area - a couple parking lots and lots of street parking. A fun place to check out, for sure!
