There's a campgrounds where you can sleep under the stars, a secluded beach, and of course the nature preserve with hikes and bike paths. I stayed not far from here while in Tenerife and actually came for walks and hikes a few times. It's lovely- the volcano is only about 170m- and depending which path you take will only take about 30 mins to reach the top and the views are worth the trek. Beware, it's very windy.

Be careful of the coral when the tide is low. The tide does raise in the early afternoon, so don't put your beach towel too close to the water. There's also a forceful undertow that parents with kids should be aware of. Further, this beach has restrooms, a lifeguard, palapas (though too high and narrow), food/drink vendors, and a paved pathway to walk on. There's vendors selling towels here, but they weren't that much of a bother, leaving you alone if you didn't acknowledge their presence.

I am a seasoned mtbr, qualified bike mechanic and occasional roadie snd I will be hiring mtbs when I take my family to El Med' later this summer. The organised rides loook great and I hope to do at least one of them. It is good to see a really professional organisation like bike point.

A quirky little beach with striking views of the cliffs…read more A little overcrowded at times. It's also cast in a shadow, due to the cliffs, for a large portion of the day. Still, wow. You can rent beach chairs for the day for a few euro, but we never bothered. There are little shower stations at the entrance to the beach, too. The parking situation is a little terrifying. If you can walk, even if it's a long walk, I recommend it. The parking lot is basically on a dock with no structure or barrier to prevent you from backing your car straight into the ocean. We are (not humble about it, sorry) excellent drivers, & I still held my breath every time we had to maneuver this parking lot. The paying situation was also oddly complex & stressful. Skip the drive! Walk instead. Come early in the morning, even though the beach is mostly in the shade, to have a truly wonderful start to your day.

There are little tents and houses build with wood, a lot people camp there with tents. It's not totally easy to reach as one must drive to some outer part of a golf course and than walk down a cliff path for about 15 minutes, but it's really worth it and still a secret kind of. You can arrange a bunch of different activities, like fishing, diving, water sking, or make up your own itinerary. The options were pretty cool. Basically you can hire them to do whatever you want. We did half and half. We did water sports and a bit of hiking in a remote part of the island that is difficult to get to by car. What was really cool, is jumping off the boat when anchored in the ocean. This is what I miss most about living in Florida... boat life! WSC were friendly, organised. I can't wait to go back to Tenerife and do it again! Next time, i want to go to a remote Canary Island! One way trip of course. he he

Yes, finally found the perfect beach! After days of searching for the perfect beach, I found it by…read moretrusting my newly made friend in Tenerife! Not only is the water clear and smooth, the beach stretches far away to other beaches creating almost a panoramic view of the coast. The sand is light grey as it approaches the shore and of a brighter and whiter sand away from shore. This is believe is due to a combination of volcanic and Sahara sand. Further down the coast, rocks lay upon each other to almost separate the beach from others and a long wooden pathway leads to the top of the beach where there is a McDonald's and other amenities. It is a great place to go alone and enjoy the day or go with friends/family/kids and perfect for building sand castles! I plan on going back tomorrow as I really enjoyed my time at this beach. A must!

Based on the fact that this is a review for the beach, I would say that I enjoyed soaking up the sun in Playa De Las Americas. It's dark sandy beach, smooth sea and crashing waves made it all a pleasant visit. As I walked down the steps, the view of straw (beach) umbrellas, beach beds and burnt skin made me feel like I was actually on holiday. There is a charge of €5 to use the sun beds but it's better to do so than lie down on the burning sand. There are also people offering massages at a cost (which you can decline) but the donuts being sold by the men were irresistible so I had to grab one. I did decline the "ice cold fizzy drinks" though. After a day of self inflicted skin cancer, there was a cool bar called Chillies just down the road and their sister chain "Greek Corner" are were I calmed down with some Shisha ad Greek food !
