It is easy to get to with lots of parking in front and on side roads. We were in basement classroom and the room was showing signs of wear with crumbling wood and paint around the windowsills. My wife and I took multiple Italian language programs and Jessica, our instructor, was the best (lei a' perfetta!). NCE in general offers so many classes, many language, skill learning, physical education, technical etc that there is really something for everyone. Their prices are very very reasonable (if you are thinking about learning a language look to NCE first - the others are very expensive). Our classroom was on W Charlotte in an old high school that was turned into a learning center, air conditioned, easy parking, a very nice learning environment. It is sponsored by the City of Nashville, and you can see their quarterly classes on line and download a quarterly education catalog (spring, summer, fall, winter). NCE is a great low-risk, low-cost way to finally get out and learn something new!

The only reason this school exists; is the State of Tennessee Real Estate Commission REQUIRES…read moreapplicants to obtain "training" prior to taking the exams. The Real Estate Commission, composed mostly of Real estate licensees (77% by law), has taken on the task of feeding these "real estate schools" a massive stream of cash vis a vis Commission requirements. There is ZERO, ZERO, ZERO instructional design to this course. They have no idea what understanding, content, testing, reinforcement, or retention are. They don't know what the first rule of learning is. The have never heard of ADDIE, and the highest level of technology utilized in this course - is a credit card point of sale terminal. This is government level COMPLIANCE; it has nothing to do with training. I did not need to pay $375 for someone to read a book to me (anyone who needs someone to read a book to them, cannot pass this test anyway) - that is simply NOT "training." This is, at best, a misguided fleece job by the Tennessee State Real Estate Commission to pump money into the schools THEY APPROVE. I am fully capable of reading a book and taking a test. Have you actually seen a detailed syllabus? What is the approval process by the state other than a compliance of TIME of study? Seriously? The state mandates that an applicant receive 60 hours of training, but don't demand course content actually train students - come on. I wa told that 85% of CLI students pass on the first attempt. 1). THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE based on the class I attended. 2). Get ANY statement of pass ratio in writing - but I personally guarantee they will not give it to you, which means.. 3) Any training course that isn't guaranteed, is exactly that!!! Any student that would pay $375 for a training course and then fail the course without the ability to be retrained for taking the test again - at no additional charge - is appropriate. One of the instructors actually made fun of handicapped persons in class while "teaching" a subject. The instructor said hurtful things about mental health care. These people should be setting a professional tone for the future employees of an industry - not ifosterin / facilitating discrimination. This is a money machine; nothing more and nothing less. It was a waste.

Constant, egregious issues at NSCC. Can't get anyone on the phone. Email responses are irrelevant…read moreto the problem I need solved. All advisors have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I gave my advisor the information page to see which classes would transfer to my university and she literally said "I'm not going to read all that". When I told her I wanted to check all information before registering for classes she said, "oh, well I already registered you" and they were the wrong classes. The google page will say they are open when they are NOT. I got a major change form from the student center and the advisor said "don't worry I'll take care of this for you". She didn't, and when I emailed her and her boss she claimed the paper form didn't exist, but I got it from the college themselves. This major change issue made me get rejected for financial aid, so I paid out of pocket. I had to drop a class because their webpages frequently don't work and I got a server error trying to pay. When I went to check on my legal name change after two weeks the student center employee said she thought the records department would come get it from her drawer, which means she just left my legal papers in her drawer and did nothing. I got conflicting information about how to be recognized by the college as an independent student to finish the FAFSA, which means I did unnecessary work and prolonged the process. I had a professor use biology class to push her political beliefs, required to do assignments about politics which had nothing to do with biology class. My A number mysteriously changed and the student center wouldnt help me until I showed evidence, because they said I just didn't know my A number. One time I was directed to the admissions department for help, and all staff, information online, and signs said they were open, I walked into a pitch black department with the doors unlocked. The FAFSA website says the Pell grant will be applied before you pay, it wasn't. So I had to pay out of pocket and then get a refund, which most Pell Grant students can't afford to do. I clicked the link for fee waivers and it takes you to the "How To Pay" page which doesn't have this form. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COLLEGE, STAY AWAY, YOU WILL HAVE ENDLESS REGRET.

My advisor, my program director and all my instructors truly care about me and they all want to see me achieve my dream of being the first in my family to attend and graduate college. First off, this is the second time they cancelled due to an emergency, with no rescheduled date. But when I arrived ( I also had services booked for that day) the financial aid lady was there, and looks like there were tours happening. Weird. The student who did my nails and the nail instructor were adamant that I would have to stay on financial aids ass in order to get enrolled in classes. I will not be chasing anyone to enroll, I will just take my business elsewhere. So on to my services, I want to start by saying that I completely understand that these are students who are learning and mastering their craft. HOWEVER, if the student is a senior and they are doing subpar (and that's being nice) work at best, they should not be taking on clients. The instructor was no where to be found until it was time to sign off of the students paperwork. The instructor didn't even take the time to look over to students work. The student was nice enough, but I'm not sure being a nail tech is her passion. There is no way that could be proud of the work she did on my nails.
