Ok, so I got a gift certificate for services here. I have to say that the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. I cut and dye my hair and I was very disappointed at the student/instructor dynamic. I made conversation with the student doing my service and they do a lot of the clases online which I think this type of training should be done on a more "hands on" basis. Also, the instructor came at the beginning of the service but never came back to check or evaluate the final results and I would have loved because unfortunately mistakes were made How do the students get their evaluations if they don't come and check on what they are doing? This student definitely was friendly but not very knowledgeable about what she was doing. I'm grateful for the gift but I don't think I would come back. read more

They dont answer the phones and they dont return calls. You have to just show up to get an appointment. They are great otherwise.

This place is a fucking joke. Don't go here. Shut them down and make them go out of business. Seriously. Don't waste your time or your money. They don't teach you much of anything. They currently don't have a teacher because they all keep quitting. The students just sit there all day without a teacher, just to get hours. For what? They're not able to learn. Therefore, 17,000 dollars from each student is being wasted. They're not allowed to sanitize things with alcohol anymore because they don't want to spend the money on it so they have to sanitize with WATER. Water don't kill germs man. Money has been stolen out of the purses and wallets of students multiple times and they won't do anything about it. Please shut them down so no one wastes anymore money. read more

I loved my experience withe the Esthetics department at Georgia Career Institute. Like any SCHOOL there are flaws but positive outweighed any negative. I had the best esthetic teachers who cared for me personally and professionally always ready to help me succeed. Upon graduation I was hands down more qualified than any of the students at other schools. We knew state board forwards and backwards and came out of school with the skills to do advanced chemical peels. Most of the people who are writing ugly reviews did not attend the school or are bitter because they don't like rules. Don't go here. I was gonna go here because it's close to my house but after orientation today I definitely will not be attending this school. When I first went to look at the school I had a mixed first impression. The inside of the building looks very nice but don't let that fool you. The lady who deals with the enrollment, Krystal Walker started trying to "read" me and said something about how she could tell I have low confidence when I don't and it rubbed me the wrong way but thought maybe it was just an awkward comment that wasn't intended to be rude but was. Then I talked to the financial aid lady and she said I couldn't do a loan for my full tuition and that I have to pay $2,500 of it while I'm still in school which seemed kind of odd. Anyways, today I went in for orientation, given by Krystal and everything was okay at first but she made some kind of snarky remark about me being tired when we were introducing ourselves. I have narcolepsy so I am always very sleepy but I'm on medication to where it's not really noticeable and her comment was offensive to me. Then she started talking about how the school will teach you to be professional. That's perfectly understandable but I didn't feel very comfortable with her idea of professional. She said they want you to act very southern so people will like you and was saying she had to get on to someone for "talking New York". Excuse me, why can I not just be myself? Also when going through the handbook she informed us that K9 officers come in randomly to search people for drugs and at that point I decided 100% I would not be going to school there. I'm very allergic to dogs and I do not understand why the K9 officers are necessary. It just seems a little bit extreme to me. Also hopefully you graduate by your graduation date or you will have to pay them an extra $10 for every hour you are there past your graduation date. read more

Wow! YELP is requiring me to give them 1. Star , but i wouldn't even do that after what happened today. What a disgrace of a "company" who is suppose to provide empowerment of those who are students and clients. The Owner of this company is suppose to be an example of leadership, have integrity & represent what she enforces her students to do. However, she did not do this today. If you are a regular client at this school, you know that the parking lot is a mess. I accidentally parked in a handicapped parking spot & the owner, Mrs. Meadows, got out of the car yelling out. At first, I was unsure who she was talking to. After a couple take backs & being called a bitch she walked inside. I reparked my car & decided i would approach her and say, "I'm sorry, these lines aren't painted well and there is no sign posted. So, i don't appreciate being called a bitch & would appreciate an apology". Mind you, she was illegally parked in the fire lane. She proceeded to to be rude & when I was leaving, after she threatened to call the police, she FOLLOWED ME INTO GOLDS GYM & called me a FAT BITCH, multiple times. I am absolutely baffled that someone who promotes beauty is so ugly and I won't continue to support this company. read more

Georgia Career Institute is a scam. Not only are they bribing their students to leave reviews, but now they are making drastic changes to the terms of the contracts the students have to sign without their consent. They are THREATENING students with the fear of having to PAY the SCHOOL $10 per hour they are behind, AFTER taking away the chances to make hours up. When asked to present a copy of the contract signed before they started, they printed a freshman CHECKLIST and stapled a generic page to it, without any signature nor notorization. All this has came about, because they are "low on money" in Ms. Shayna's words, and the students are expected to pay the price. You have to pay around $20,000 to attend the school, and now if you fall behind, you have ZERO chance of making them up if you cannot attend Saturday school, all while being told you're going to owe them MORE money when you graduate or you won't at all. Most students that are behind have been coming in early, before their night class, to make up the hours they were behind. Now, because they're angry at a couple students for calling out, they are taking this unprofessional and childish tact of scaring the students into coming in, regardless of sickness or reason as to why they couldn't make it. None of this was stated in ANY previously signed document, and we already have a law firm on the case. They've reported fraud, embezzlement, and multiple other lawsuits pertaining to the treatment of students and/or their case. Worst possible place to have any cosmetic service performed, not only because of the rushed environment they have you in, or the lack of having an instructor when students have questions, but also for the fact of how they treat people who are attending their Institute. I wouldnt recommend ANY ONE do further business there, and WILL be updating when the students catch the backlash from this. read more

Get my hair cut at the salon clinic and wouldn't go anywhere else. The new location looks more like a futuristic starship than a place to get a trim. They have LCD panels throughout the building, art galleries and sculptures. Really awesome I think it's the best place in town! read more
