Surreal. I can't even believe how amazingly incredible it was to be there. The pictures don't do it justice. Imagine what went on here hundreds of years ago. The carvings themselves were some of the most intricate things I've seen done when the tools back in those days were not like the tools we have today. Highly recommend visiting.

I was recommending these pyramids by many of the locals from Mexico. The ride from CDMX was about and hour and 15 minutes but to get back was almost 2 hours (traffic was horrible) thankfully our taxi waited for us. The path of the pyramids is about a mile and half in length. We made it to the end but there isn't much other than vendors and snapping a picture or two. The tickets were about $10 USD They do offer tours but it's not something I would recommend unless you want to walk with a tour guys for 2 hours or so.

They do not allowed people to climb on the top of the pyramid anymore after the pandemic so you can only walk around. I came here with a tour guide after the hot air ballon ride. It is hot so make sure you bring a hat and sunscreen. Once inside, there are a lot of people who will tried to sell you the status of the pyramid of the sun and the moon. Those people are poor so make sure you bring a lot of cash to gave to them. I didn't buy anything but I gave them a lot of money instead. It as beautiful pyramid of the sun and the moon but I guess they didn't do any reconstructed or added anything to it, just leaves it as alone in the old day. If you have extra times and do nothing then visit here otherwise you can skip this area.

Just across the way from Teotihuacan this restaurant is located in a cave. It's quite unique and…read moreonce you enter the cave you'll see it's much cooler being protected from the heat. The prices are elevated as you could imagine for being in such a unique location. We just stopped for a snack and to experience the cave. So got 2 beers an americano, quesadilla and corn cakes with chicken. The quesadillas were made with a Mexican Oaxaca cheese instead the cheddar and Monterey Jack that's found in the states. So it was quite good. The corn cakes were sopes. I know what sopes are but I didn't know they they were translated into corn cakes. That's the problem with translating it into English. We got them with chicken they were also quite good. The corn cake base was tender, I'm used to them being hard and rubbery so it was nice to finally enjoy a sope. Service was prompt and friendly, there was a tablet with English which made it easy. The prices are high but it's the type of place that you go for the experience.

The food was decent, and for around $25 USD, it felt basic. You're mainly paying for the experience…read moreof dining inside a cave. The chilaquiles were bland and slightly warm. The vanilla pan dulce also tasted a little stale. On the other hand, the fruta mixta was fresh and one of the better parts of the meal. The setting is unique, which makes this place stand out. Eating inside a cave creates a cool atmosphere that you do not get at a typical restaurant. However, the food does not match the price point.
