In Elko for one night and wanted something between fast food and a sit down place; this joint hit the spot! The gal that was taking orders was a doll, answered our questions and recommended stuff to try. One Katsu/fried rice plate, one teriyaki chicken/veggie/fried rice plate and we were set. Whenever I'm traveling, I like to take a break from fast food and look for a nice plate of protein/veggies. I found Teppanyaki in Elko and wow, the food was exactly what I was looking for! Our server was extremely kind and described what Teppanyaki is, a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to prepare food. I found the prices to be very affordable too! I got the regular size for my plate and that got me full. The flavors were good along with my fried rice, but got to try the Teppanyaki noodles (also very tasty!) I'm happy I found a place in Elko that can deliver on different assortment of fresh food. This Elko Teppanyaki Fresh Grill was a beacon on our adventure in Nevada. We stopped in for dinner and were not disappointed. It was a hit with my fam. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looks like a casual, redecorated fast food place with a drive thru but don't let that fool you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some good eats were being made here. You order at the counter and it is brought out to you. The lady owner/manager was so hardworking and upbeat cleaning and making sure everything was being brought out. We all ordered different plates. The portions were just right. I especially loved the teppanyaki steak, veggies and noodles. The pieces of steak were the protein hit I needed and the vegetables were cooked just right and the noodles perfect pan fried deliciousness. The others had tasty Hawaiian favorites like loco moco and chicken Katsu & they didn't disappoint. The teriyaki souse was good too. The only thing that would make the Hawaiian dishes better would be a side of traditional Mac salad with the rice. All dishes came with "egg rolls" and a sweet red sauce. All the stuff was accommodating and sweet, the dining area & bathroom were clean and had a good vibe. The food itself wasn't the most flavorful in the world but for the few options in elko Nevada it was decent, filling, and comforting. I got steak and fried rice, steak was a little over cooked but the rice was basic and yummy with the sauces they supply. We did a crazy trip to Hollister for some off roading and on our way back, as we always do we looked for something different for lunch. Found this on Yelp and we were so glad we stopped. Pretty good sized menu and so were the portions. I went for the chicken katsu and choose fried rice to go with it. Chicken was a little overcooked but tasty nonetheless. Fried rice was great. The wife went with the vegetable and tofu teppanyaki and really enjoyed it also. We shared an order of pot stickers they were the hit of the meal. Loved them and could have another another round but we full up from our entrees. **Updated since hearing from owner.** After hearing Teppanyaki hailed as a local favorite, we finally made our way in--and it turns out, the buzz is well-earned. This was one of the last few restaurants we had yet to try since moving to Elko, and it delivered a satisfying surprise. The Food I opted for the tofu and vegetables over noodles with their signature Teppanyaki sauce. The vegetables were cooked just right--tender with a bit of bite--and the tofu was impressively seasoned. My husband had the chicken entrée with rice and vegetables, both generous and flavorful. Each dish came with what they called "egg rolls," though they were actually spring rolls--crispy, light, and a pleasant addition. The Service Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive and kind, though we couldn't catch her name--no name tag in sight. If management reads this, please pass along our thanks to the young woman working the evening shift on September 23rd --she made our visit smooth and welcoming. I was not expecting much from this place. But it turned out to be a good surprise! My combo noodle was pretty good, lots of meat and it was very filling. Even my 4-year-old picky eater enjoyed the spam musubi. I would not get the poke bowl because they just fill it up so much with rice ....the fish was okay but very little. Teppanyaki is located in Elko, Nevada. Elko is a big town and the only civilization you'll see for hundreds of miles. It's a good place to stop for lunch on the way home from Park City Utah. We ordered a variety of food and all tasted good. Excellent value and portion. The egg roll didn't taste home made and would skip. There are a few tables inside. Restroom available. Stayed in Elko on the way to and from YNP and ate here both times. We ordered steak teppanyaki noodles, steak fried rice and the katsu plate. Prices were reasonable and all the food we ordered were shareable. Staff both times we went were very friendly. Walked over as staying at hotel next door and too tired to search for food. Teppanyaki restaurant was great! Staff was busy but immediately helped us, and quickly brought our order out to the table. The noodle soup with chicken was absolutely delicious and so filling that I took half of it for lunch next day. My friend had steak and noodles and really enjoyed it. This small restaurant is 1 minute walk from the Best Western Hotel. The establishment inside is bright, clean and a welcoming staff. The menu is compact but I believe sufficiently varied including vegan options. Good food, served hot & fresh. Great find read more

Doesn't look like much when you drive by and I'll have to admit, the sheer size and drive through made me question how good raw fish would actually be coming from it's window... well take any doubt you have now about the place and throw it out because Teppanyaki was GOOD! Admittedly I didn't get the Poke, although I will be back to try it! On this day however, the Hawaiian favorites caught my eye! They have Kahlúa pork, Katsu chicken, Moco Loco, and Spam musubi!! I ordered the Kahlúa pork and Spam musubi. I ended up ordering the Kahlúa pork with fried rice instead of steamed rice seeing as how they don't actually have your traditional Hawaiian pasta salad that usually comes with. Also, compared to places like L & L barbecue, the portion size is significantly smaller. It's for those two reasons that I give it a four out of five. I feel like there's just a bit of an identity crisis going on. However the Kahlúa pork was really tasty, and the fried rice was good too! The spam musubi was great but I think it would have benefited from a bigger piece of fried spam. And the fried spring rolls were delicious. Overall the food was really really good and I will be back to try more! I just wish they had Hawaiian pasta salad to go with all their tasty Hawaiian food! read more

My boyfriend and I go regularly and it's always amazing!! The loco moco is DELICIOUS, and their potstickers are best in town. Jory is the friendliest and sweetest cashier and always brightens our days! Recommend this place to everyone in Elko or stopping through! Bring your foot right to your car if you order in the drive through, which the ONLY reason you have to wait is because the food is made to order and hot!! 10/10 read more

I was in Elko for the weekend a d had a short list of restaurants I wanted to try and this spot was top of the list! I saw there was a drive thru and that was really just the cherry on top. At the drive thru I mentioned it was my first time they're and was given a to-go menu for an easier reference of the menu. I love that they offer Hawaiian food! I haven't found many Hawaiian restaurants so this was quite the treat! I had the kalua pork and the spam musubi and they were both delicious! They were the perfect temperature, and just had a great blend of flavors! The rice wasn't too dry or mushy and the pork was blended well with the cabbage! How have I not been going here every time I visit Elko? The combo plate is AMAZING. And the folks who work there are wonderful. They were even worried that I can't eat much (after a bypass) and they ran up to my table and asked if something was wrong and if they could make me something else. I love this place the food tastes great! Highly recommended the combination noodles, or combination rice, it's a great mix of chicken, steak, and shrimp, and I love ordering as a large order with half noodles and half fried rice. My second recommendation is the chicken teriyaki, especially with rice. Best appetizers are the potstickers and edamame, the cheese wantons are hit and miss sometimes they taste amazing and other times taste like the oil wasn't changed. Coming from Los Angeles which is a mecca for Japanese food I was really floored with how good Tappanyaki is. It got the combo Tappanyaki entree and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good little basic Hawaiian / Japanese place, filling a niche in Elko since they don't have L&L or Mo Bettahs or any of that out here. Expect $10-12 per meal, but a "regular" is a pretty good size, comes w/ two mini egg rolls (two-biters) but they're very good. That's pretty much what they charge you for a fast food combo in Elko anywhere now, but this is leagues better. The only bummer is that the teppanyaki uses a regular chow mein noodle rather than the thicker buckwheat soba noodles, no law against that I guess but its what I prefer and look for at these places. read more

The Chicken Teppanyaki was my order and my lady ordered Kahlua Pork. Both of us were very satisfied with our meals. The chicken was done just right and the pork was good too, very BBQ'ish.
