My favorite one is tucked away inside San Juan del Cabo and Ernesto works there. He is very attentive to the customers. He will let you know which tequila's go well and is very patient. i stopped here while in a city tour of San Jose Del Cabo on 28 June 2025. Good tasting experience. But one of the bottles I purchased at tequila town - that was wrapped while I sampled other tequilas - was actually the floor sampling bottle and NOT a new, sealed bottle as I was expecting. Didn't catch this until I was home in the states two days later. Thank goodness was on a cruise - had I been traveling by air the bottle would have certainly leaked everywher. Not sure if this was an accident, but buyer beware. Have them wrap your bottles in front of you so you are assured you're getting a new bottle. Going to call my credit card company to contest the charges. Very unfortunate. read more

We have known Tequila Town when it was the Blue Agave in Cabo San Lucas. The same person who served us there is Tequila Town in San Jose del Cabo. They have ice cold beers for $1.00 and free Tequila tasting. The selection is very good but watch out for them trying to talk you into going to a time share presentation. We spontaneously stopped into Tequila Town last night and were warmly greeted by Ernesto and Charlie. They graciously offered a tequila tasting of many different tequilas and also educated us on the history of tequila, how it is produced, and the different types. They were super down to earth, friendly and helpful. We ended up purchasing one of the bottles that we tested/they recommended and it is delicious! This review is for the Encanto location (maybe 5 blocks NW of this one), but Harry Potter - who told us to call him that, Avi...? - told us he works at both We came in here to learn about Tequila, and had the most wonderful tasting! I've never known the difference between Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Extra Añejo, and Cristalino (sp?) - let alone Tequila vs. Mezcal. I left knowing a lot more and looking forward to hosting a Tequila tasting back home to share my newfound insight with my friends there! Aside from the tasting, this is a cool little shop and a great spot to get some Tequila to bring home. Apparently all, or most of, the "Tequila" we get in the US is 40% alcohol minimum, while the good stuff is extra aged, extra distilled, often bringing it closer to 38-35% So, if you "don't like Tequila" don't let that stop you from giving it another try with a tasting, and be sure to ask for Harry Potter (seriously, you'll know him if you see him) read more

This shop was recommended by one of the bar tenders in the hotel we we're staying and we are so glad we found it. If you are looking for good quality tasting tequila that's not so commercial this is the place to go. The inventory they have is by category which is a plus : silver , añejo, reposado, extra añejo, mezcal. This place is the best. Hung out for a couple of hours with Ivan (aka Fluffy) and Luis for some free tequila tasting and beers. Friendly to everyone - it turns into a party when a tour group shows up. Some great tequila and mezcal here, no Cuervo or Jimador in sight. Ask about Eric if you want to hear some hilarious stories. After going pretty much door to door tasting and discussing tequila at stores is San Jose del Cabo this place is the best. The selection is amazing, more selection than any other store but the big difference was the service from Ivan. Most shops have a strong preference for particular brands. Not the case with Ivan, he will give you accurate honest information about the many brands without the pressure to buy. He deserves the the highest recommendation. And the prices were $20-$40 less than anywhere on the premium bottles. read more

Ivan (Fluffy) was such a wonderful host! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and charismatic. My husband and I wandered in and were greeted with open arms. Ivan grew up in south (Georgia) so his English was flawless and when I was speaking Spanish, he helped correct my conjugations and taught me some new words. Awesome store, they have everything, from cheap tequila for shots to tequila for sipping and special occasions. The best prices and qualities in town. They have Coffee tequila, pomegranate tequila, almond, etc. We saw ppl come in looking for stuff that only they carry during our time there. It was such a pleasure coming into this store and meeting Ivan. We came here after walking through the town and Ivan was so easy going. Neither of us are big drinkers but Ivan found us an absolutely delicious tequila - smooth and so flavorful.
