Booked a table for 9.15 for 6. Arrived on the dot and no tables free. Had to wait 20 minutes in a cramped space by the bar. We were not even offered a complimentary drink for our wait.
Menu was a fixed 3 course menu. We asked if we could switch the dessert for a drink as none of us were that hungry... no problem, the waiter said.
Waited another 30 minutes or so for food. Starter was bland, main was chicken fajitas and quite nice (hard to do wrong?). Had another drink with our main meal.
Time to get the bill and we explained to a different waitress this time that we'd chosen a drink instead of the dessert and the first waiter said no problem. This proved to be a problem and she had to get the manager who started discussing it with us. The OWNER of the restaurant, a nasty man called Saied Bakhshalian, overheard and came over. He proceeded to interrupt a normal conversation with the manager and started shouting at us in front of his staff and all the other customers. Asking what our problem was, and repeatedly saying "Are you refusing to pay?". Pretty sure he wanted to call the police at this point. He told us "I don't care if you never come back."
We pointed out we were more than happy to pay and just wanted to settle the bill with an extra drink instead of the dessert. He asked who said this was possible and we pointed out the waiter that server us initially. He beckoned the waiter over and shouted, again in front of everyone, "you're fired" and stormed off. We couldn't believe it.
We settled the bill and got out of the restaurant as quickly as possible.
Avoid - this place does not know customer service. I've eaten at restaurants from back street eateries to Michelin star restaurants, including in many different European restaurants where language has been more of a problem and I have never, ever witnessed such rude behaviour. read more
