I brush my hair about…read moreonce every two weeks and have to wear it up and under a hat for work 40 hours a week so getting a hair cut is not something I look forward to. That was until I started getting my hair cut at Soap. The decor is really beautiful and relaxed. It has sandy wooden floors and with teal accents, and a large fireplace which I think is white, with baroque features around the salon. It feels very pretty and light. I have had the same stylist a few times and she is brilliant. She really took the time to listen to me before she begun, and always remembers me even though I don't go very often. I wanted some highlights in so she very gently applied the foils and dye while I drank my cup of tea. They always have friendly gentle staff washing the hair when the foils come out, and everyone is really polite and consideraste ( I am particularly head sore but never have a problem here) For a trim and a perfect half head of highlights it is only £75 with like the third highest level of stylist which is amazing, honestly best £75 I have ever spent on my hair.

Had a bad hair cut on Monday 10th October. Hairdresser said she had been cutting hair for seven…read moreyears but it was a very basic cut on my short hair. When I said I wanted it shorter she just got the thinning scissors out. It looked horrible when I was sat the chair so I said again that I wanted it shorter and in a style (spikey, funky and cut into) and she got a bit huffy. It couldn't have looked less funky than it looked. The fact that she straightened it all over with straighteners obviously meant that it wasn't short!! It was £10 off on Monday but it wasn't worth the £29 I paid for it. Good job I know a bit about hairdressing as I got back and got my hairdressing scissors out and tidied up the mess she had left. Would not go back again. One of the worst hair cuts I have ever had and that's saying a lot.

It's paid off though as I've won many a prize over the last few years, most recently being a cut and blow dry from the lovely people at Salon 57. It could be argued that as it was a freebie it wouldn't be a balanced review but I honestly found both the manager (Debbie) and the guy who cut my hair (I think it was Jack) to be welcoming and friendly, with a genuine desire to provide a great service and a bit of pamper time- so much so Debbie kept my little one amused when she started to get cranky. I got a lovely head massage during my hair wash (is there anything nicer?) and after a consultation with Jack about what I wanted doing I left with a haircut I'm really happy with, beautifully styled. I've been in search of a good hairdresser since my beloved long-time hair saviour moved away and I will happily return paying full dollar next time I need a cut and blow dry.

I was charged £254.50 for a full head of highlights and a toner at the sink. I did not have a hair cut. The toner was pink, which is why they charged me for a colour correction. The fact thats its pink is irrelevant, since you would have a purple toner if your going blonde. I was charged £100 for a colour correction I did not have and I wasn't even happy with the results, which were patchy and uneven. They would not refund me the £100 extra I was charged for services I did not receive. They did not offer to correct my hair, despite going back one day later and telling them I was not happy with the results. In fact they booked me in for another full head of highlights at a cost of £141.50. I have been trying to resolve this issue for months. My appointment was back in June! They continue to insist I was a happy customer, while I continue to insist I was not. I am still not. The define a colour correction as "going from one colour to another in one appointment" and charged me an extra £100 for this. I would not recommend going to this salon.

People are so quick to complain but not quick enough to compliment. Service is really good, all the staff are so lovely and I feel totally comfortable there since the first visit. Everyone gets involved and is really genuine. Jess colours my hair and is lovely. She does an amazing job and suggests new things to me all the time and she is always right. I have been to a few different cutters there and they have all been really good. I must have been over 30 times and never ever been disappointed. Such a lovely place. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else! Thought you should all know what a great job these guys do.

I have had highlights, full head colour, flames and today I'm getting an aqua stripe. Lisa senses your personal style and works with you to get it right. They also have an on site beautician and nail technician although I haven't visited them.
