went first time and enjoyed the experience, then it gradually went downhill from there. the second time the girl clearly couldn't be bothered with me and left me for far longer than she should have with bleach in my hair, before palming me off on one of the assistants, despite the fact i was charged a 'senior stylist' price. the third time i went i was treated appallingly by the manageress when she overcharged me - got home and realised and, although all too eager to take my money off me, she would not give me my money back - despite knowing she was in the wrong. she was thoroughly arrogant; clearly it was money, not principles, that mattered and she wouldn't be budged. it shows that really they couldn't care less about the customers; you're just one in a long conveyor belt and i just wanted to warn anyone who's thinking of going - DON'T! superficial and shallow and you feel as wanted as a spare part. the last two times they also did a pretty shoddy job on my hair, too - i seem to have forked out another hundred quid to get nowhere. a waste of good money and an upsetting experience; in future i'll take my custom elsewhere! read more

went to this salon on 26th feb 2013. booked in with a senior creative stylist for a restyle of my shoulder length hair. day started bad when staff were late opening due to the person with the keys were late. then as i was having my consultation the boss rang and had heated words about late opening( staff openly discussed around me) then the stylist started to cut my hair and as i had said i want complete new style and dont mind shorter hair or fringe etc, but on completion my hair looked no different from when i walked in! i asked why the style was the same to be told BUT there are layers in the back! i said again i wanted new style and she just shrugged her shoulders whilst looking to her next client! i then stood up and was asked to complete a feedback form, i went to a cafe and filled it in saying all i have said here and then handed it in. did anyone contact me regards how dissapointed i was,? no but i suspect my review did not make the grade to be shown to the owner. have i returned to the salon, NO. because they cant be bothered to do as a client asks or ask why unhappy, they dont deserve my service. read more

Have been visiting the colour room for about three years now. It's such a refreshing change to find a salon that actually knows what they are doing and does it to the very highest standards. From the junior members of staff right the way through to the senior members, everybody is just lovely! I have always recieved outstanding customer service, a very warm welcome, amazing cut and colour and fabulous blow drys that last for days!! Oh and not to mention the great coffee and biscuits that are out of this world! The salon is always buzzing and it's clear that everybody gets along and works so well together. The colour room should be very proud, what a great team! If only all salons shared their knowledge, passion, talent and enthusiasm!!! I Can 100% recommend the colour room in Stockport! I was recomended to the colour room by my friend as she has been visiting ther for over a year now as i stepped through the door i was warmly welcomed by the receptionist who made me a drink an a biscuit WAS LOVELY then i was sat at my station were i wasnt kept evan 5 mins i had my consultation with the friendly an very chatty colour tech then i was visited by my cutting tech who was also very chatty an lovely all throughout my time there getting my hair coloured an cut was a lovely experience an the end result was perfect i couldnt fault a thing lovely staff warm welcoming lovely drinks an i absolutly love my hair definatly will reccomend to my friends and ive already booked in again thank you read more

Terrible service, arrogant staff, average cut/colour. Had to ASK for them to blow dry my hair this was the middle of winter. She blast dried my (curly) hair in 2 minutes leaving it a frizzy mess, and still charged full senior stylist price. I wont go into the rest of my visit, but rest assured it wasnt a nice experience. I have since been told by several people that they have a reputation of luring you in with a consultation with the owner guy (whos really nice) but when you come for your appointment its terrible. I have always had fantastic experience at the colour room. I've been going for over a year now and everytime the cut has been exceptional and the stylists / assistance courteous, friendly and professional. Quite exceptional not just for stockport but for the whole of greater manchester. Love the complimentary drinks menu too. In my opintion (and the opinons of several of my friends who also now go) there is nowhere better. read more

Very bad experience. I have asked for highlights and cut, and when I got home I could see no difference whatsoever! The waiting time was way too long, a wasted day and wasted £100! Just after 2 weeks I went to The Strand and they did a terrific job, I was very pleased. read more

I recently went to The Colour Room and had in my opinion the best hair cut and colour. The stylist and technition was both brill they understood exactly what I wanted and did it, I felt at ease throughout my appointment and I will definaly be returning again. read more
