A time when door to door sales ruled and were acceptable as the norm. From what equates to $50 in todays money his idea and hard earned investment had grown to over 200 stores across Au and NZ spanning 70 years and kept in the same family before being sold off to another company six years ago. Not a bad innings or investment or sales transaction. They sell all types of vacuum cleaners, steam mops, accessories and provide service and repairs. Several makes of vacuum cleaners are stocked such as Hoover, Miele, Electrolux and others, plus one in particular was being firmly pushed when I was on my quest to find a good vacuum - as my trusty 25 year old Volta finally died - on Wertheim. You may like it or lump it, some have been lumbered with it but you decide and it's all in the sales pitch my friends. Needless to say I didn't end up purchasing through Godfreys as my personal experience was the sales people were pushing what they wanted to sell and not what I needed to buy.

Snowtex: convenient and well-priced dry cleaners! - but probably not for rodeo clowns…read more I work a M-F 9-5er, and, although I realise I'm not either A) alone in this or B) the only one on the planet, it really irks me when a business can't facilitate customers who can't attend during weekdays. For the past 5 years, I've been frequenting the Snowtex dry cleaners located on the outside of the Torrens Park/Mitcham shopping centre complex. They have a range of services on offer, but I have predominantly utilised them to get my suits dry cleaned. They offer a 24 hour drop-off and pick up service, which definitely 'suits' my needs (that must've been 'pun'ishing to read! Haha - Bam Bam! Double pun!) Their prices have changed a little over the years, but not enough for me to go looking elsewhere. They have another outlet in Keswick to for anyone on that side of the city. The alterations/repairs I've had done over the years have been timely, affordable and well done. You can't go wrong with Snowtex. Unless you're a rodeo clown. Then, I imagine you might need a slightly more 'robust' service. But for most of us, Snowtex is the way to go.
