Okay, it is a bit of a trek to reach, and it is also effectively in the middle of nowhere (though I am sure if you are determined enough you could walk, or at least ride a bike), but for me at least, it was certainly worth it. Okay, the pub itself is your typical country pub, and you can be assured that the publican knows everybody who walks in through the door on a first name basis (except for people like me who trek up from the city just to have a beer). They have a pretty nice beer garden, however it is one of those beer gardens that it basically a converted backyard, complete with two yappy dogs that want to play with you while you are having a beer. This pub certainly has a character of its own, and I know I would be very tempted to stop by here again if I am ever in the area.

This is one of those pubs that remains open simply because the current owner doesn't want to see it…read moreclosed down. This is not all that surprising since the town that it used to support has pretty much disappeared. Look, don't expect all that much from this place, and they don't have beers on tap, however the service is pretty good, namely because like a lot of these country pubs the bartender will simply sit there merrily chatting away with you. Yeah, it was nice, and apparently it does go off on a Friday night.
