I reckon geography plays a large role in the identity of this pub. The Terminus Hotel is exactly that -- it occupies the no-man's-land just beyond the 86 bus terminus and is nestled amongst the end of Hoddle Street, the beginnings of High Street and the split between the Epping and Hurstbridge train lines. It sort of takes a lot of that on board in its personality -- neither here nor there, a patchwork pub that doesn't really feel that comfortable in itself. The food here is great (try the burger) and they pride themselves on a changing seasonal menu that utilises in-season local produce. The beer selection is pretty good also (they have Mountain Goat on tap, which is a good thing) and the staff helpful and generally fairly amiable folk. It's odd, then, that this place just doesn't feel right in some way. Perhaps it's the clientele? Maybe the decor (a bit sterile)? I think it's the location and the part that's played in the pub's development within itself. Whatever it is, there's something that could be a lot better about the Terminus.

I wouldn't recommend you try the unimaginative and bland use of quality ingredients, a disappointing meal.

I have to say that I was really glad that I did because the pizza was excellent, as was the service. Okay, they don't serve beer, but that isn't a problem because they ended up giving me a pretty decent drop of red to go with my meal. Sure, it's not the largest place around, but then again the nice cosy intimate atmosphere is what really adds a lot of charm to the place. If you are down in the Clifton Hill area, and are feeling a little peckish, then I would highly recommend checking this place out.

Think bocconcini, leg ham, basil, artichoke, basil, sun dried tomatoes, hot salami, mushrooms and peppers. Crusts are thin and crunchy from the clay oven and if you dine in they are fully licensed or BYO. The seating area is kind of small but there is a back dining room if it gets busy, however this pizza place is probably better for those take away evenings. Large traditional pizzas average around $15 and the large gourmet pizzas around $17. The Greek salad is ok however don't try getting chips take away, soggy.
