View of the terrace from the bridge.

A great busy, small bar that also does some simple food such as pizzas. Bowls of crisps and nuts are given with your drinks along with small panini if it's early evening. Lovely terrace on the river which is very popular but the inside has a good atmosphere with locals popping in and out.

One of the most delicate and flavorful buffala caprese

We were eager to stop in here for a nice lunch with a gorgeous view, and when the staff saw that their river view tables were all taken, they kindly invited us to sit inside (air conditioned and comfortable) and assured us that we could be out there soon. We were! And we were so happy with the whole experience. Friendly and attentive staff, peaceful view of the bridge and river, and delicious food!! The buffala caprese was especially amazing, and we also ordered the prosciutto and melon, and pasta special (cold and refreshing like a pasta salad). I highly recommend stopping in!!

This was a great casual dinner spot with lovely ambiance and great service. We ordered the gnocchi with prosciutto, which was delicious and incredibly flavorful. Highly recommended!

Great little place! We sat near the river and it was a nice experience. Food is tasty, not expansive and the waitresses are great! Really helpful and always serve you fast even though there's many clients. Recommended if you're in Verona and it's not too cold outside! (If you do want to sit outside take into account the wind and the cold)

Campari, aperitivi, and Hugo with bar snacks.

Osteria del Bugiardo was located in a good area so we made our way over to this wine bar. Service (2.5/5): Confusing system. There was a wait for a table but no hostess outside. We eventually talked to someone and she said that while there's no list, she will remember our faces and let us know when a table is ready. Not the most efficient system but we waited about 10 minutes to be seated at the bar. Our waiter took care of us pretty well after we got in. Ambiance (3.5/5): Your typical wine bar. Nice ambiance. The only downside for me is that seating at the bar consisted of bar stools. Without back support. Which I have always hated and which hurts my back. It's also pretty tight in there when they're at capacity. Drinks (4/5): Since this is a wine bar, you know what to order. We had glasses of rose. Not the heaviest pour but the price was solid. If you're not looking for wine, they also have things like Aperol Spritz. Food (4/5): You won't find hearty fare here but you will be able to munch on a lot of small plates. I'm talking things like mini sandwiches, croquettes, meatballs, salads, etc. Which is exactly what we did. We shared a couple of tapas between the two of us. It was filling and did the job. I wasn't stuffed but it was good and on the healthier side. Overall: Osteria del Bugiardo is one of the most popular restaurants on Yelp in Verona and it's located in the heart of the city.

It was quiet when we arrived at noon and then filled up quite a lot by the time we departed. Clearly, a restaurant for the locals. First course, a big pile of a pasta called "bigolini" which I've not seen before. It is like thick spaghetti with a rough surface. That is needed because the sauce on it was quite thick and another interesting taste - nettles. Definitely different. Second course, risotto made with a red wine reduction. Very flavorful and rich and the pasta was perfectly al dente. We'll definitely need to return to here for dinner! [Review 16980 overall - 185 in Italy - 496 of 2022.]

The restaurant is very cute (free WiFi) and homey feeling with an exposed brick interior and interesting decoration choices throughout the space. If you're so inclined there's also and outdoor patio area. Maybe we just ordered poor menu items but the food was underwhelming and not particularly standout. For our anti pasta course we went with the cured meat trio with polenta. The meats weren't particularly good and combined with the bland polenta it just wasn't a good combo. For our primi pasta course we had the bigoli in a horse (yes horse) bolognese sauce. Of our three dishes this was the best. For our main meat course with did horse cheeks braised in an Amarone wine sauce with polenta. I didn't like the polenta any better on our second dish and the cheek just didn't do it for me. I ended up leaving the bulk of the dish uneaten. All in all-maybe I just ordered poorly but I if I ever make it back to Verona this spot will be a pass for me.

They have a nice garden terrace as well as a lovely dining room inside (with AC!). Started with mixed grilled vegetables and the house cured salmon which came with a bit of salad. They do have some pasta and specials of the day, but we all had pizza, of which there is a rather wide selection to choose from. I had the melanzane which was definitely the most delicious eggplant pizza I've ever had. My husband had the "Trentino" with had wild mushrooms, Emmentaler and speck. And my son had the Capricciosa (mix of various things including prosciutto, olives, artichokes, etc.) I tasted them all and they were all great. House wine: $12.50 for a liter. Awesome deal, very drinkable and went well with the pizza. Service was attentive and efficient. I hope to return while I am staying in Verona. We thought it opened at 5:00, and we got there about 5:50, super early for Italy. The door was open but no one was there except the chef, who turned out to be the owner. He said it didn't open until 7:00! But he took us anyway, and he was absolutely the most charming man EVER. So sweet, so accommodating, so kind. He told us the story of his restaurant and that he's the fourth generation to run a restaurant there. We ordered excellent wine by the glass, including amarone, the double fermented local speciality. Then we had pumpkin soup, and it was the most delicious we'd ever had, really special, with a depth of flavor that seemed unusual. After that, we had spinach ravioli, which were fat little homemade pillows, amazingly delicious, with a sauce of halved grape tomatoes lightly sautéed in olive oil. So fresh! Then we had rack of pork, which was presented as two thin chops beautifully browned, but very tender, and served with lightly sautéed mixed vegetables (those were good, but not great -- I can forgive that!). Finally, we had dessert. I got the deconstructed Napoleon another reviewer recommended. It was so cutely presented, and tasty. Husband got "mini-dessert" -- two small puff pastry "donuts." Believe it or not, we went back for breakfast because we really wanted something filling, and they serve more than the typical pastries. I had yogurt with muesli and fruit (so tart i had to add a pack of sugar!) and husband ordered ham and cheese omelet, which came with bread. Both were nicely done and hit the spot. We just LOVED this place. You can't go wrong there! On top of excellent food, the service is friendly and efficient (everyone there was so, so nice). The waitress was just as nice as the owner.

Watching the gentleman carefully slice them fold the prosciutto into the panini was mesmerizing. High dedication to quality that's palpable in all they do. Great breakfast though few options along with fresh paritaires, lunch and dinner. We had omelettes off the menu, panino piccolo with prosciutto and butter was delicious, coffee was "the best I've had in Italy" according to the husband, had the orange cinnamon loose tea (largest tea options I've found), fresh squeeze orange juice along with impressive pressed juices (my pineapple, apple, orange and ginger was soooo good). Thankfully the rain gave me some time to remain here and attempt to give the experience justice.
