They have saved me from having to run to a big grocery store so many times. They have a great selection.

I typically don't leave reviews, but this situation has left me deeply frustrated. I frequent this…read morelocation regularly--sometimes several times a week--for Slurpees. Over the past month, I've started bringing my Service Dog with me. She's usually just on a leash tethered to me without any special identification, as it's not legally required. The daytime employees have never had an issue with her presence, recognizing how well-behaved she is. However, the nighttime staff has discriminated against me twice now, outright denying me service because of my Service Dog. The first incident was resolved after I educated the employee about the law, and he allowed me to make my purchase. However, on 10/26, another employee informed me that dogs aren't allowed in the store. Despite me and my partner explaining that she's a Service Dog and that I've been coming to this location with her multiple times without issue, he was unyielding. I explained to him that it's illegal to deny us service, as my dog wasn't causing any disruption. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California Disabled Persons Act / Unruh Civil Rights Act specifically state that businesses and public spaces cannot deny access to service animals unless they pose a direct threat, aren't under the handler's control, or fundamentally alter the nature of services provided. My Service Dog did not fall into any of these categories. The employee also claimed my dog needed to be on a harness rather than a leash, which made no sense since, even with a harness, she would still be on a leash. Additionally, legally, service dogs are not required to wear a vest, ID tag, or any special harness--a fact clearly outlined by ADA guidelines. He further justified his refusal by mentioning that the store is dealing with an open lawsuit related to a dog bite. However, that is irrelevant and not a valid reason to deny access to a service animal. I urged him to look up the laws, as a violation of the ADA concerning service animals is also a breach of the California Disabled Persons Act and the Unruh Civil Rights Act, carrying significant consequences. It's worth noting that there were no other customers in the store at the time--it was around midnight, and my partner and I were simply grabbing a quick drink. As I advocated for myself and my rights, the employee threatened to call the police. Given my disability and the impact that stress can have on me, I chose to leave and go to a different location. Throughout the encounter, my Service Dog remained calm, showing no signs of aggression or distress, and stayed close to my side the entire time. I fully intend to file a complaint with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the ADA. I hope the owner will take this opportunity to educate the staff, so I can continue to support this location without facing discrimination in the future.

This aggressive interaction escalated over coffee lids. The clerk threatened to slap him for telling her scalded hands and arms can lead to a lawsuit and when he walked away she chased him to his car and tried to physically open his car door! If you are at this location and spill hot scalding coffee on your hands because the lids are behind the counter or if you slip and fall from all the spilled coffee on the floor from no lids I highly recommend filing a lawsuit against this place! They are negligent and need to be shut down!!!!

By far the worst experience I've ever experienced from any convenience store so far. The so-called…read morevery untrained manager did not know how to process a transaction using a relay app that us drivers use and he was unwilling to get on the phone with their own pilot help desk get the necessary instructions and have the transaction process. After a few hours I figured his shift was over and maybe I can speak with a different manager on duty which there was a lady named Heather who claimed to be the manager and her herself actually did call the help desk but because the help desk said that the weight would be longer than usual due to high call volumes she said she could not wait around for them to pick up so then I asked if it did not matter to her that I was a customer and needed his transaction to be completed she pretty much told me there was nothing she could do because she was not going to wait around that she had a whole store that she had to manage so I told her okay I guess I have no other option then to call corporate her reply was do you have their number because I don't and I responded with I'm pretty sure it won't take me too long to find it online and she said okay do what you have to do in the meantime I stepped outside and went about to make that phone call while she was inside she spent the whole time on the phone looking out the window as to what I was doing probably calling Ruben to inform him that I again had returned to ask her to help me out and probably that I threatened to call corporate the time that she spent looking at what I was doing she could have really been on hold with the pilot help desk to make the transaction go through but she was more worried about taking care of her store which she did not leave the desk after I left the desk to do what she said she had to do ultimately corporate told me they cannot force them to do anything but they were just put it down in the books and make sure that they received proper training for those transactions in the future. I believe they need more training in overall customer service and learning how to keep learning and not believe that they already know everything and there is nothing a customer can show them that they don't already know very disappointed in both managers because they are just passing that on to their employees who will probably follow their procedures on handling situations like this. I left with nothing resolved

The interior of Cask & Barrel has an upscale type of vibe with a black slate style stone and some fun accent colors throughout. Everything is organized very well which makes it very easy to find the type of alcohol you seek. In my opinion, it is easier to find different types of alcohol here than the local competitors of similar size. There is a wine cellar with glass walls which make viewing from the floor pretty cool. There is an area in the back called "The Wine Bar" where the staff will begin offering wine tastings. You can sign up with your email to be notified of tasting dates. There is a beer grotto, which is a walk-in fridge so you can pick out a case of cold beer. Near the beer gratto are two large screen TV's playing different sports games. If you need ice, they have a very large freezer. There is a small open fridge that contains several different cheeses to pair with your wine. On your way out, you will find four registers at the front. If you like cigars to go with your liquor they have a small selection at the front counter. Pricing is on par with other local competitors. Not sure if it was due to my visit being during opening day, but there were plenty of employees working behind the register and on the floor. We were asked if we needed help when we walked around. Cask & Barrel is a really nice addition to the City of Ripon.
