The staff throughout all departments have been nothing but amazing for her. I recently had my own stay where I learned I had a dangerous level of deficiencies and the staff was quick to jump in to take care of me. During my stay I had two incredible nurses, Ashley Thibodeaux and Carolyn Brown, who each went out of their way multiple times to make sure I was cared for and comfortable. When I got uncomfortably warm, Ms Ashley found me a change of room that was much cooler which also accommodated my at the time roommate who would not be comfortable with the air turned down in the original room. The next day I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Carolyn who was very accommodating of my severe needle phobia and was extremely gentle every time she had to work with my IV. She was gentle and also did her diligence in timing every flush inbetween was correct to ensure my IV was prepped properly before the next connection/infusion. I'm only giving 4 stars because the food could have been prepared better, my noodle dishes were overcooked and soggy so they were inedible. But the fruit cups and sandwiches were otherwise amazing. I will always choose Chabert over TGMC for their overall care for patients as well as having a staff that truly goes above and beyond to make an awful time period comfortable, but also felt seen and heard

What started out as a tiny cut on the top of my hand turned into a pretty horrific situation while…read moreI was visiting family. I'm not sure why, but I went to bed with a little boo-boo and woke up with a huge and painful swollen hand. As soon as I saw it I was certain I'd have to go to the emergency room but my hand hurt so much I couldn't even drive. My sister drove me to Coastal Urgent Care. When I first walked in the first thing that struck me was how new and clean it looked. The second thing that I am still laughing about is that they had complimentary camouflage koozies (to hold a can of your preferred choice of beverage) that had their name, address and phone number on. That's Houma for you. Anyway. The receptionist was sort of abrupt, but the nurse and her assistant were so sweet and nice to us. The doctor, Paul Cummings, was so awesome. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to pain and when he informed me I had an abscess and he'd have to lance it I said "no thank you and you have a nice day," as I was gathering my things to get the eff out of there. He told me he'd treated 3 year olds that were braver than I was at that point. I'm not really one to back down from a statement like that so I stayed. The procedure was done and although it hurt horribly, he was humorous and very gentle throughout the entire thing. I love doctors with a good bedside manner because it really puts my wimpy self at ease and Dr. Cummings had one hell of a great bedside manner. Hopefully you'll never need to visit this place but if you do you're in very good hands.

My grandmother was at this facility. Disgusting! Incompetent! Uncaring!…read more The whole place smelled like feces. Her bathroom was not cleaned in over two weeks. When we asked for her room to be mopped, the mop smelled like it had toilet water on it. My family gagged and could barely stand it. My grandmother was immobile due to a fall, but her mind was completely fine. When she complained about anything they would laugh at her like she was crazy. On her way to dialysis one morning she was dragged from her wheelchair into the car. She sustained more injuries that set her back weeks of physical therapy. She was no longer able to stand on her own or take the few steps she had been taking. The last straw was when we arrived to her room one morning and each leg was as big as her body and were leaking fluid. We alerted the head nurse and he told us she must have urinated on herself. When we informed him she did not urinate due to dialysis, he argued with us and said she was just sweating. We called her primary care doctor ourselves because thankfully she was a family friend. We were told to rush her to the nearest emergency room despite the refusal of the nursing home. My grandmother was in the hospital for four days due to a severe infection. Had we not called 911 ourselves, she would have laid there in excruciating pain and would have died within days of heart failure. From the hospital we had her moved to another nursing home. BE ADVISED: MAISON DEVILLE IS A DANGEROUS PLACE TO HAVE YOUR LOVED ONES!!!!!
