I should have left this Dentist a long time ago. I've taken my kids in for cleanings, only to find…read moreout the dentist isn't around to do the check-up...my insurance pays for the full service. This leads to miscommunication about how many cavities or what potential tooth problems will need watching. And what future work needs to be done all because the dentist isn't there to do the complete check-up. When scheduling appts. there were several times the dentist needed a time changed, that's fine but when her staff can't give you a courtesy call to let you know the appts. changing....that's bothersome. Most two-parent families work these days, it's not easy planning on getting out of work only to find out you need to switch the day and time at the LAST minute because of inadequate notification from the dentist office. This dentist literally told me she was working on one tooth on me, then told me I could bring my son in early because she would be working on three teeth for him and my procedure wouldn't take long. When I arrived, low and behold she planned on working on three of my teeth, without my prior consent (I had two metal/replacements to get done, at my convenience) she didn't ask me, she was just going to assume she could work on them. This was after I had already brought to her attention my complaints about lack of communication and poor customer service by her staff. When I initially explained my complaint about lack of communication, she admitted she could communicate better with her staff....three months later nothing has changed. Interestingly enough when I called my HR office at work, and I asked if I could change to another dentist after our open enrollment had expired. The Assistant HR Director said yes and asked who I was currently using as a dentist, when I told her Avalon Wellness Center, she said, "hum, I've been hearing a lot of complaints about them." I thought I was doing the right thing making a verbal complaint to the dentist myself, however she doesn't want to hear it. I guess if her business suffers it's a reflection of poor management on her part.
