They don't take reservations, have a written menu, or have a written waitlist. You feel like you are eating at a friend's house. You have to be there really early to get a spot (for us, that was 8:20pm when they open at 8:30pm). The food is phenomenal! And the atmosphere is perfect for a break from routine. The menu is limited: empanadas, humitas and tamales. However, they offer a dozen different types of empanadas. Intriguing concoctions like "Greek" and "Pumpkin" empanadas were listed alongside traditional favorites. My boyfriend decided we needed to try all of them! I ordered a humita just to mix it up, and I was not disappointed. I especially appreciated the clumps of fresh goat cheese hiding in the corn meal. The empanadas are solid. I didn't particularly care for some of the more exotic ones, but my boyfriend said that the Salteño was "the best he's ever eaten". Side note: He did have some major gas for the rest of the evening. Not necessarily a deterrent for him, but I made sure we stayed away for the next few days!

We arrived early for lunch, so there was only one table of two already seated before us.The woman who seated us seemed uninterested, leisurely walking back and forth in the back for a couple minutes after she saw us standing at the door. Our server was a bit better, with just the minimal amount of attentiveness for us to be fed. Overall, come for the food, not the service.
