Leave the pool facilities after you have changed back into your clothes you came in, over your bathing clothes.

Parking's a bit of an issue, but if you're lucky enough to get a meter spot close to the entrance from the back at around 105 St, then you've got it made. The badminton courts are usually half-full, so just bring a racquet and shoes and you're ready to go. The work-out facilities are good, and the price is right. It's a great alternative for both students and the rest of the commmunity to membership at a private club or older city facilities. This sports centre is fairly new and has everything you need to get in a good, fast workout in a clean, spacious environment, without all the testosterone or intimidating buffness of more serious gyms.

Skylights, check! Great attitudes at the pool, Life guards and swimmers alike, check! I swear to dog, this is the best pool in the city. I'm a wacko who actually enjoys the colder temperatures of the pool! The only things its missing is higher diving boards and a bigger Sauna/Steam room,( they are always full). Peter…read moreHemmingway Fitness and Leisure Centre, formerly known as Coronation Fitness Centre, has recently undergone a renovation to include a large built in whirlpool (thank you very much) and overall maintenance. The pool area is 50m, has and wet and dry sauna and a large observation area (accessible from both on and off the pool deck) and is home to the Coronation Triathlon. The large bank of south facing windows lets in amble light and doesn't make you feel like you're sitting in a humid brick cube. The weight room is located in the basement and is rather small, but does suit the bill. This is the first location I started with a trainer a few years ago and holds good memories for me. The change rooms are decent, but if you're working out take flip-flops with you so your feet and socks don't get wet while going through the change room. Tennis courts and a sports field are located just outside is a nice change of pace when the weather is nice. Parking can sometimes be crowded as traffic from comes the arena and school next door. It's a good facility and offers lots of programs for both aquatics and fitness. Because the facility is city run, admission fees are a bit high. But if you purchase a multi-facility pass you can use all of the city rec centres - good bang for your buck.

We brought our own gear but it looked like they had gear you could purchase. We found it a bit pricey to drop in- we came at 7pm on a Thursday and were charged $15 each. I did notice online Monday to Friday from 4-7pm it only is supposed to cost $10 and no pricing is listed next to the 7-10pm time frame. As of July 1st no more group rates if you come with 4 or more people. They do have memberships but they are not unlimited- they are by the number of times you come. For example 10 sessions costs $90, 20 sessions costs $160. You can use it all year but if your a badminton lover and come a couple times every week you will use up these passes fast! The best time to go? Based on what their website says non-prime time is Monday-Friday noon-4pm $5.00 We did play against some strangers, I appreciate that people their are open to playing with new people. Water- thank goodness there is a water fountain. There are also vending machines and it looked like a gaming system in the lobby.
