This proved to not be the case, but I'm glad to have come here anyway. They take American swipe CCs like Visa and MC. They also take Amex. Employees are super nice. I dropped a container of eggs, and they said don't worry about it. I was prepared to pay, but no biggee. Also, they have liquor here. It's expensive, but so was hard liquor everywhere in Ireland. CENTRA…read more The local Centra convenience store had now been open for about three years and is proving a hit. The hours are good, parking is excellent and so is the stock carried. You won't get everything that the likes of Dunne's or Tesco carry but you will get most of your requirements. Along with the usual groceries, they have a hot food section, a wine and beer section and carry a decent range of newspapers (including Sunday's). They also involve themselves in the community, mainly via sponsorship, and recently held a children's art competition. It is a bright store, well laid out, reputedly Centra's biggest in Munster. They have a deli area with a great selection of tapas, ready cooked dinners made fresh, and a sandwich bar. The selection here also is much better and seems to have many of the higher end items you normally would only find at specialty shops or M&S. The only thing which bothers me about this place is the fact that for some reason around lunch and dinner time it is completely filled with elderly shoppers who for whatever reason congregate at those times and the queues come to a standstill. If you avoid those two times you will find the queues are not bad and the selection is brilliant.
