One of the largest markets in the South East it's so popular that they actually run coach trips here! The market is mixed and contains stalls ranging from clothing through meat, vegetables through CDs. Some stalls, such as the CD stall outside Debenhams or Peter the Pleater's blind stall have been there for years. Others are newer. The market stands on a cobbled area and is fringed by the shops and, more recently, some living accommodation. The ancient St Edwards church provides a focal point and gives the whole area a rather historic feel. Market days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with the market place being used for car parking outside these times. Expect the market to be operational before 9am and to close up around 4pm or later if trade is good. There's an Eastend buzz about the place but it's not what it used to be!

Sometimes it feels like an extreme sport, as you dodge the twin buggies and grumpy pensioners to be mowed over by out of control stock cages. At the back is paint and gardening supplies, just as you come into the store is the health and beauty section, followed by food for both humans and pets, then stationary and finally home wares. If you're a lover of fairy lights you can find them here in the winter in great abundance.

It does…read morehave ample parking, including underground parking, and has the added benefit of being accessible from the car park at the back as well as from the high street side, so fits quite nicely into the shopping make-up of Palmers Green. It has the usual stuff in it, but is not a superstore and in all honesty looks a bit dated, but maybe they are built that way...maybe Morrisons are supposed to feel a bit...beige..? It does have plenty of self-checkouts too, so that process is pretty quick. Though no fault of their own, this place is like a scene from the walking dead during the week as it is full of the aged, the perpetually unemployed and unemployable, so be careful not to get bitten!
