They have just reorganised their entrance, and created a long corridor of veggies/fruits on one side and bakery on the other. I'm not sure I like the new layout as much, as it makes you feel trapped until you get to the back wall, but others might. In the summer it is impossible to step into the shop without a heavy jacket and scarf. Their refrigerators are not capable of regulating their temperature properly, and as a result the store is colder than a skating rink. You can feel the shock upon walking in, it's quite bad. Their selection is pretty good for a small-ish store, and I must admit I'm impressed with the size of the alcohol section. (But then again, when in Britain) Tip: If you go after work (18:00-19:00) you may find no bakery goods left over. However! If there are some, they are going to be seriously discounted. (10p instead of 30p for the mini-baguette!)

The prices are reasonable to slightly expensive, and the range is adequate for a small store, but you wouldn't do a large shop there due to its lack of complete range, and the distance between the store and the parking complex. The store is often busy, with all tills open and queues still being present. There is a separate newsagents area at the front of the store, and there are still often queues at this till during peak moments of the day. The service is reasonable, and the staff pleasant on most occasions.

They have a variety of fresh food/produce as well as some frozen goodies. You can buy household things as well. I always come here to grocery shop because it's so close to Ealing Broadway tube, and is just a bus ride from my flat. The cashiers are always very polite and will greet you when it's your turn. I thought it was kinda weird that you had bag your own items though, we don't do that in the US. But yeah, I basically pick up everything food related here.

Fortunately it's one of the larger Metros and there are a lot of tills and a fast moving self-service till section. It has the all the usual Tesco stuff: a sandwich section by the door for lunchtimers in a hurry, a deli counter, a bakery (I recommend the walnut bread), a whole aisle of alcohol and a CD/DVD corner. It has a cafe, a currency exchange, mini branches of Argos, Habitat and upstairs a Tu clothing range. Fresh food counters include a Bakery, Deli, Fish Counter, Hot Food Counter, Meat Counter, Pizza Counter and a Sushi Bar. There's also a homewares and small electricals section, which runs as far as selling TVs. On my visits, I've always found the checkouts to be a little slow, and the Tu store could with a few more staff (the men's formal shirts section was s bit of a mess). Otherwise, it's good for a one-stop grocery shop.

The grocery side of the store is mostly unchanged. Standard big Sainsbury's on that side. However, it now also has home accessories, small appliances, etc. on the ground floor and clothing upstairs. The whole place is a bit shinier and seems to be keeping up with the improvement the whole area has been getting as its across-the-street neighbord Southside improves & expands.

Simply amazing. I can't rave about this stores recent makeover enough. I feel I should get paid…read morelike a top PR the amount I have enthused for the new store... which was long overdue being modernised and this Summer saw Tesco Watford become the talk of the town and the nation, as it's the first to get the flash new overhaul and it made the news. Literally. The renovations were undertaken without closing the store and whilst I admit I did stop shopping here while they were being carried out, I returned, opening day, with a fist full of vouchers to entice me back. You now have to queue to get in the car park. But...it's worth it and they now have car park assistants who direct you to spaces (layout has changed in the car park and disabled bays are now near the main doors). Outside is the same except for the swanky new Giraffe restaurant we are lucky to have in Watford now... But that deserves its own review later! Inside. Customer services is in same place, bit small and under staffed for a super store perhaps. There's a new 'scan and shop' section which I still need to try but I see a lot if peeps are using it. Food to go area is fab. Think salad bar to help yourself, loads if sarnies to chose from and pre packed salad and sushi goodies. Also it's a good section to nip to if picnicking. Plus there's self serve tills for this section alone so it's super convenient. The new bakery. Wowsers. So middle class and rustic. I lurve. Wooden table a la farm house laden with baked goods and hearty loaves. Also a counter with lots of posh desserts (quite pricey) and cakes. It's quite hard to grasp this is now where all bread and cakes are though. But it's early days. The toilet is in this section. No sign though. Annoying. And only one in whole hench store which is disappointing. Harris and Hoole. Love the look. Great lattes. Will sample food am sure. Always busy and not keen on the buzzers they give you to wait for coffee. Bit ott. But there's a coffee cart directly outside store so I usually grab one there as less busy. Florence and Fred. Happy days. This section looks amazing. Trolleys are able to mooch the aisles and it really feels like a proper clothes store, better fixtures and layout/feel than Marks or Next. And stock is great, fab designs and cheap as chips. I always come away with something. Fitting rooms are spacious too. Rest of store super laid out. New pizza counter (still not a patch on Asda's counter pizzas though- listen up Mr Tesco!). Fruit and veg section is epic, so spacious and easier to navigate than before. Make up and health sections look great as does home wears. Proper department store vibes. Loving. Dangerous for my bank balance. Opticians and pharmacy both helpful and knowledgable. Tills are still bit queuey but lots of people are checking out the store so busier than usual I think. Defo worth a visit. Terrible rude staff! I wanted to buy some cat food and Tesco and other few…read more things, at check out I asked the Asian lady to help me with putting the number of my club card down as Tesco has not bother to post me one. The woman she said write the nomber and while I was asking her a question, she just left! She came back after few minutes and I explained to her: I was talking to you, and you left me there, so now, I am leaving and not shopping, and I am not coming back again! Tesco, obviously, is making far too much money to care about customers. Thank God for Aldi down the road!!!

This is a very frustrating Tesco, it's well laid out and is thoughtfully dividend into different…read moresections, selling quite a lot of different items considering it's not an Extra store. It also has an online order pick up point which is handy. The main problem with it though which really winds me up whenever I go there is the self-service checkouts, they have 6 which are divided into groups of 4 and 2. So you have two queues, one for each section. For some reason in this store people take absolutely ages to go through them, so there's always a huge queue, or two huge queues to be precise. Added to this that the staff seem to wander off whenever they feel like it, so once someone jams their machine they're just stood there for ages with no assistance, and meanwhile the queues get longer. One morning all four people in the section had jammed their machines and the attendant had wondered off somewhere, so we were all left standing there like idiots with nothing we could do. I don't think Tesco understands how frustrating this is, and it seems to show a real lack of respect for their customes. It's not easy to see why they have so few of the machines, the Sainsbury's at Stratford is much smaller and has around 3 times as many, sensibly with only one queue so that you don't get annoyed watching the queue next to you going faster. Every time I've been to this Tesco this has been a cause of major annoyance, so I do try to avoid the place.
