The issue with the Tescos is that unless you come at the start of the day after they have completed…read morea fruitful stocking night the shelves will be half empty, it will be mind-bogglingly busy and there may be stuff everywhere. However as this place is so huge you'll probably still find what you are looking for. Since I've lived in Oxford I've come here about a dozen or so times. We tend to try and stick to mid evening as the crowds die down a bit and they are not quite into their horrible restocking mode. Generally you can find fresh products and a wide selection of near everything (do not come to this Tescos if you are looking for home goods/ electronics/ etc). The prices as it is Tescos are decent. The staff are generally friendly as long as you're not getting the end of shift crowd. PROS: Large selection Good quantity of stock Price CONS: Gets ultra busy Leftover stock can be of bad quality Other side of the ring road.

This is known fairly widely as 'Big Tesco', to distinguish it from the Tesco on Cowley Road, and it…read morecertainly lives up to the name. It's got a huge range of items, although no adult clothing (other than underwear) or much in the way of electronics/media/toys, unlike even bigger stores. For groceries, though, it's got a lot to offer. Fruit and veg are of good quality and usually well-stocked. The deli and fresh fish counters offer a lot of choice, and they even have a large 'Polish food' section. They have two 'car trolleys' which amuse small (and big) kids greatly, and make the shopping trip easier with children who are too big for the trolley seats but too small to walk all the way around without whining. Staff are friendly and helpful, and offers on food are good value.

Wound up here after working late in the datacentre down the road, and knew that going to a…read moreChristmas party on an empty stomach would lead to a very early night. So - first things first - the roundabout to get in here requires just a wee bit of concentration. Most people just blaze through it, and if you have to turn to get in to Morrison's, wait for your opportunity. Once you get inside, you'll pass the comparatively cheap gas station, so fill up and avoid higher prices if you're headed back to central London. The interior of the supermarket itself is very clean, and brightly lit. Feeling famished, I walked along the left aisle and came across Libby in the bakery department. It was late enough in the day that she was putting out half-off stickers on the steak, chicken, and sausage pies, which I happily took advantage of. She also took pity on this lost traveler and walked me down to the beverages, helping me get set up for an impromptu dinner while I drove the hour back to Canary Wharf. Super-friendly staff were also found at the self-checkout area, where I wound up sheepishly apologizing to the customer agent overlooking the consoles, as my US-based credit card required a signature even though it had a chip in it. Genuinely nice staff in a well-stocked supermarket, which led to a dinner on the go for me? Much as I'd have preferred a sit-down lunch/dinner, this ended up working quite nicely for me.

Great sale items but especially enjoy the offers they do. Definitely recommend getting a Match and More card if you're a regular with Morrisons, you can get vouchers if you earn enough points and there's even an app for the iPhone to keep track of your progress. They often have special offers (collect stickers and get freebies) and because they're so undersubscribed they sometimes just give things away (we got given twenty stickers- enough to get a free fancy knife) so I recommend getting involved with those.

It was interesting visiting an English grocery store. First of all this particular store was…read moresmaller than the ones in the United States. Also, English grocery stores aren't laid out the same. For example cookies might be in multiple locations rather than one designated "cookie aisle." Also it was interesting because you had to pay for a shopping cart. They did have a limited number of hand baskets. If they ran out of hand baskets, people would use the bags they brought and add there items into the bags. Then remove them when they got to the counter. It was nice because there weren't long lines, and they had a lot more self-serve kiosks than my local American grocery store.

I'm not quite sure how to review this place. "3.5 stars" feels like the rating I want but since…read morethat's not an option, I'll bump it up to 4 stars. The location to surrounding area is amazing. The family and I were vacationing in South Kensington and this store was ideally located. It's a grocery store that has all the essentials... and more. And by "more", I mean seemingly random stuff like an aisle of non-branded shirts... and a convenience station which apparently provides shoe repair? Item selection for things (particularly vegetables and fruits) seems a little sparse. But admittedly I'm a tourist so perhaps that's expected for the area, climate, and time of year. Checkout is slightly disorganized (again, probably a "tourist ignorance" thing). Recyclable bags are available for pickup on a rail while walking through self-checkout. There's an automated gate that requires a receipt barcode to be scanned before exit is permitted. Ultimately I think this is a store that's 90% grocery store and 10% variety store. Nothing wrong with that but it was just a little surprising.

I am getting married next year, so have been around a few of the bridalwear shops in the area (not…read morethat there are very many in Cambridge city to begin with!). This was the first place I tried - and it was by far the best! You do have to book in advance if you want to try on wedding dresses as it gets very busy, especially on weekends. There's a room downstairs for private fittings, where (once you've made your appointment) you can try on dresses to your heart's content! The service is fantastic and the staff really professional and patient. If you tell them you have to stick to a budget they will try to accommodate you. The range of dress styles is amazing too. If like me, the blancmange doesn't do it for you, there are plenty of really classy, simple dresses in there - everything from fishtail to column dresses - you name it! Ironically I ended up buying the second dress I ever tried on - after then trying on endless other bridal dresses! The service is fantastic - there's no hard sell or any of that rather intimidating aura you sometimes get in these kinds of stores. I've recommended this shop to several of my friends.
