The stock and produce is always of a…read morehigh quality and the costumer service is satisfactory, the staff at Tesco are occasionally nice and pleasant and always helpful, although the staff are satisfactory and the products are of high quality I was emotionally knocked from the events that took place later in the day I was even more distressed when I found out about the ridiculous attempt to improve club card sales by the increase in price of the infamous Tesco meal deal from £3 to £3.50 if you don't have a club card, although I have a club card many of my peer found their self 50p short and unable to purchase lunch. Although mostly you will found the things you need if you go in on a Wednesday and Thursday you will usually find a shortage on meal deal items and chilled beverages. On a plus I have also experienced some out of date produce in the sandwiches marked as in date they are also in some state prior to opening the packaging.

It is what it is. It's a chain supermarket, so there's usually some kind of level there that you can expect. It…read moreis located on the road that runs parallel to the north of the High Street, if driving I would usually approach by going up Oakbank Drive and then taking the first right, it's quite well hidden from the High Street so I think it's worth checking google maps first. If you are walking you can go through one of the closes that runs off of the High Street. It's quite a small branch of Tesco so you don't get the range that you get in the newer massive stores. The shop is mostly food, cleaning and bathroom bits and pieces with a small selection of electrical items, books and DVDs. When I do go here for a regular shop I would expect to find more or less everything I look for, although the selection of organic food, especially meat is quite poor and I would go elsewhere.

I mostly go in here before or after work, when this is the only shop nearest the biggest Hospital in Europe they must have a good lot of custom from Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, you would think they could be more organised at peak times. This morning I was in at 08.15 there was a queue of three people in front of me and by the time I was served about ten folks behind me there was a Chap at the checkout querying a price and it took two of them to eventually sort it out. I asked the Manager if he could open another till and he told me he would when the Girl had counted her float, surely this should be done before the shop opens poor organisation. I am still happy with the goods they supply but it can be a chore to shop there.

This particular Lidl is a fair size & when I visited after work one day it was surprisingly quiet, which made a nice change to my regular visit to Morrisons post-work where I have to strap on my armour & metal capped shoes to prepare myself for the inevitable mobs zig-zagging the aisles. Honestly, you would think some people have never been in a supermarket with OTHER PEOPLE before the way they act. Sheesh. Pure trolly rage man. Nae trolly rage here I am happy to report - nice wide aisles and, as I said, it seemed quite quiet to me. Yas. I was specifically in for fruit & veg and was happy to see a good selection of both on offer although not for as cheap I as remember Lidl being when I used to shop regularly in the store a few years ago. Still I guess all supermarkets have put their prices up somewhat in recent years. Bah. I spotted the odd deal - it was luckily for me cheap aubergines so I was happy being a lover of those purple fleshy beasts. I was saddened there were not more offers on but maybe since I was a regular Lidl shopper they have stopped doing so many? As you walk in this store they have to the right a huge shelf of all their 'fresh' bakery products, I say 'fresh' as I presume they are fresh at 8am but not so at 5:30pm...still quite a few items on sale & the crossiants/pastries all looked lovely but their faux Krispy Kreme style donuts looked a bit worse for wear, one even delightfully had a bite already taken out of it, mmm...try before you buy, eh? S'nice. The meat section here was a lot more well stocked compared to other Lidl's I have frequented, although I noticed a distinct lack (not rack) of lamb. Still plenty of great meat & fish bargains - I spotted two salmon steaks for a mere £2.69, pretty good. All in all this Lidl was really well stocked and although maybe not as big as some of their other Glasgow stores it had a good variety of produce too. Only tiny, minute grumble I had was when at the till they had none of their Bag-for-life type bags for sale; it was only cheap carrier or more expense insulated & super strong bags available. I should have brought my own (especially considering I seem to buy a new one nearly every other time I visit a supermarket & have a plasticky mountain of them in my flat) so my fault really. One thing I must point out about here is when you have finished packing your bags on their 'packing bench' and the rear of the shop don't do what I did and think you are being ever so helpful and take your basket with you to put back in what I presumed would be a stack of them near the entrance/exit of the shop as they are, as I rather embarrassedly found out, alarmed! So if you try to take them out the first set of exit doors a delightful alarm sounds. So, as I was told, just leave them on/near the packing bench. Okay. I know now....*cringe*

I was going to a friends house and needed a cash machine and flowers, and this had both of those things. It's a mid-sized shop - I mean, you probably couldn't do a full shop here but it has more than your average corner shop. The annoying thing was the wait at the checkout to get served as the girl on the register was looking after the people on the self check-outs too, and of course they needed a lot of help. So it was a little annoying having to stand and wait for her to get all that sorted as they were so short staffed on a Friday night, right when you'd expect it to be busy just after work.

Love this shop but there are always staff in the aisles stocking shelves no matter what time of day…read moreyou go in. I'm sure it's more to do with when they get their deliveries in than anything else but it's annoying to constantly have obstacles in the way when all I want is milk and bread.

The building looks shabby, store inside not much better. The only good things about this shop are the usual tesco bargains and friendly staff. Handy if you live near the Glasgow road since its the only shop around - even for basics, but apart from that you'd be better driving through to one of the other supermarkets in town.

I was doubtful & did wonder if he'd got confused but nope, taxi man, you were right! Gold star. Another supermarket in my neck of the woods is always welcome as I have sort of fallen out with Te*cos...long story, but basically I only shop there if I really have to/have no other choice and it just so happens the 2 nearest supermarkets to me are both blinkin' T*scos! *grumble* SO, HELLO MORRISONS! :-) Only time I've been in a Morrisons is once to the Mozzers at Easterhouse/Fort, once to le Partick one and a few times to one doon South in that Norfolk. Always thought 'Meh' about them before UNTIL (da da DA!) I stepped into the wonderful, shiny new Mozzers at Barrack Street! Wow. I am a tiny bit sad in that I actually ENJOY supermarket shopping. I love looking at all the new produce they have in stock and I could honestly wander around the bigger ones ALL DAY (just about). ROCK AND ROLL!! Whatever, we all have our 'thangs' and supermarkets are one of mine, okay? Cool. Now onto this place - I actually walked around the first part of the supermarket saying 'Wow!' and 'Ooh!' to myself (and maybe a tad too loud at points...) looking at all the wondrous things! So many weird and wonderful vegetables and fruits ~ a few I've never heard of ever, let alone seen before. The amount of fresh veg/fruit/produce this place has is outstanding and (dare I say it) even BETTER than Waitrose! (Shock horror!) I also LOVED their funky cooling/keep fresh pipe system they had ~ every now & then pumping out cool cool air onto the precious things, I felt like I was in some mental veg-filled disco at one point (FIRE IN THE DISCO! FIRE IN THE DISCO!) in fact I even did a wee dance of joy at one (sad) point to see such a beautiful thing smothering and freshifying (?!) all the magical vegetables/fruits. Yes, I'm a mentalist. Their selection of fresh produce, not only veg/fruit ~ with your very own greengrocer on hand to help you should you need it (I have visions of people walking up saying 'POTATO?!'), but also their Fresh To Go section ~ making fresh sarnies for you from scratch, bakery, fishmongers, butchers, cake shop, delicatessen and their Oven Fresh counter ~ offering fresh roast chickens, pies, etc. really is what makes this supermarket super. I could've happily filled my trolley up to the brim with all the fabby fresh produce alone before I'd even reached the other aisles. Really like the layout ~ feels spacious and looks clean/tidy and bright too. Also when I stepped inside I totally forgot I was in (a not so great part of) the East End of Glasgow. My only (totally selfish/personal) gripe is that I wish it was closer to me and wasn't at the end of a bit of a dodgy street. Apart from that I LOVE this place and will be back.

This branch is one of their newest ventures and it is one of my favourite branches. Even the new gimmicks make me smile like the chilled haze over the herbs and stem vegetables. The store has the standard "Market Street" consisting of freshly made pizzas, cheese counter, cold meats, hot meats, butcher, fishmonger and baker. The only thing missing would be a candlestick maker but that is beyond the point. They stock a great selection across all the ranges and the staff are always there to help. Food on the counters is fresh and looks appealing. Displays always appear to be being filled and faced up. Bakery always smells like there is fresh bread ready to eat. Nice little cafe/restaurant which serves everything from a cuppa and a cake to a full meal (kids eat free on weekdays, not sure how that works not having any children) and flower stand at the front of the store. Plenty of parking and easy access from public transport. I like a nice in-town supermarket that has all the bits and pieces you will generally need. I wouldn't be a repeat customer if they didn't have good service.

With these guys they place the items that are not in the meal deal and place them at the other end of the store, where you get caught out at the till when your till says £5.50 instead of the £3.00 that it should have been, in the hope that you will pay and walk away. That's bad of you guys, bad.

A handy wee Tesco that is located across the road from a local Co-Op…read more It's a tight squeeze up the back, but it is a fairly well stocked Tesco Express that is ideal for picking up snacks on the move. As mentioned elsewhere, the queue can get pretty long at peak times and it can get a bit rowdy near closing time at the weekends with punters from nearby clubs. I'm glad I don't work 6-10's in here at the weekend.

This is quite a new Tesco and as Tesco Express stores go this is quite good. I particularly like…read morethe coffee machine at the back beside the reduced stock. The coffee is quite cheap and you can get it while you pick up a cheap sandwich as you walk to work. The store is small so you have a limited stock and the goods are more expensive than the daddy Tesco stores but then you are paying for convenience. If you go in the evening you might also be able to grab a random reduced item on the cheap. Though to be honest I have tried and apart from a small tub of potatoes in a curry sauce I have sadly failed.
