Chevron - The former Chevron Gas Station on Molokai is now a Texaco Gas Station.

One gas station is the Rawlins Texaco Service Gas Station (formally the Rawlins Chevron Gas Station), and the other gas station is called - Molokai Fish & Dive (formally the Hayaku Gas n' Go). When driving around Molokai, please plan ahead.......... as you can only buy gas from Kaunakakai town and like I said before, there are only (2) gas stations in the entire island of Molokai. Believe or not, I have heard about tourist who have run out of gas while driving around the island, so if you're not in Kaunakakai town...............I will have to say...........sorry my friend, you're totally out of luck as far as getting some gas! You need gas, get in Kaunakakai town! Lol! Prices here are pretty high, but that's pretty much expected on a remote island like Molokai, they have to transport the fuel to the island as there are no gas refineries. On the bright side, wherever you have to drive on Molokai, you really don't have to drive far, as the island of Molokai only covers 260 square miles.

Yep, it's a Chevron gas station. Big deal right? Yes it is when you consider there are only two…read moregas stations on the island of Molokai. As you cruise by the Chevron, it might be a good idea to check your gas gauge - especially if you are planning to head to the east end or the west end. I heard stories of stranded tourists with empty gas tanks. This place is a service station, too. I think the official name is Rawlin's Chevron Service. Their gas prices are outrageous. Translated, that means a few cents a gallon higher than California. But you drive less here and use less gas so it is the Cali's who are really getting screwed! [Maybe they think we are too dumb to notice]. Four stars for the Chevron 'cause it's there. Better than it not being there.

Lanai Plantation Store - They sell gas here too........

Geez, I had to leave my house very early in the morning to catch a flight to Lanai today, and…read moreunfortunately for me, Hawaiian Airlines stopped flying into Lanai, or Molokai due to the lack of flight demands due to the Covid-19 pandemic. While catching my flight to Lanai with Mokulele Airlines, unfortunate there is no lounge or food businesses in Terminal #3 of the Daniel Inouye International Airport where you can get a hot cup of Joe. What do you do??? When I landed on Lanai, I caught a shuttle ride with Rabaca's Limo service to the Lanai Rental Car agency, just across the street from the rental car agency is a business called - "Lanai Plantation Store". Lanai Plantation Store is your typical convenience store where they sell simple grocery items, a few souvenirs, all types of drinks, gasoline, as well as them having a deli inside of the convenience store where they will make you hot fresh food to order. After getting my rental car, I just popped over next door to get a hot cup of Joe. Not the best cup of Joe that I ever had, but when you're on a remote island like Lanai, it's better than nothing. The price for a large cup of Joe was $1.85, which is very reasonable, considering that everything on Lanai is pretty expensive. Would I come back here for a cup of coffee? Sure, why not? I was so happy that a small local business was available to meet my needs, and thankfully for the easy access on a remote island.
