So glad we were given the recommendation. We decided to enroll in summer camp this year and it was great. A lot of the area schools were only doing in-house camps and not going anywhere. However, Excel usually has a field trip every day. This is some thing we loved because it gave my son an opportunity to be out instead of just indoors. It certainly made it a lot more interesting. I know he likes all the teachers and staff at Excel. He also loves the food choices that they have each day. We loved it so much that we are going to attend aftercare this year. We will likely be back for summer camp next year. My son is 7 and there were several kids his age in attendance. The director, Lisa is very nice. I'm so happy we found Excel!

My kids stayed there from Nov…read more2019 to Mar 2020 (the 4 year old stayed for after school, while the 2 year old stayed full time. Both 3 days/week). This is what I experienced - I came back to the U.S. from my home country at beginning of March 2020. The school forced my kids to be quarantined because I traveled from a high risk country - which I understood. But they rejected to refund the prorated March tuition. In fact they closed right after my kids finished quarantine, and we paid for the whole Mar but only had a chance to go for a few days. Then I decided to withdraw my kids from the school. They rejected to return the deposit (around 500). The reason given was 'the school does not have much cash flow'. Considering small business was facing the risk of bankrupt during the pandemic, I decided to wait. I waited till Sept. Upon my enquiry, they refunded me the deposit. However, about $120 was deducted for 'late pick up fee'. They created a long list of my husband's late pickup on many days, however, neither before the 'late pick up' happened nor after, did we receive any notification on the policy or late pickup charge. That was ridiculous. My kids had stayed with White's Chapel preschool, Trinity church preschool, with each of them clearly announced the rule and gave notifications on the charge once it happened. So we were 'charged' by 127 minutes without even being informed. That was a trick. The front desk Miss Nina is a difficult person to work with. She either has a habit to creat obstacles or she's executing what she was told to. For the kids - Neither of them liked the school. They were happy with all the other 3 schools they attended but not this one. The feedbacks were : the teachers were mean. From my observation, the 2 year old class teacher was basically busy with daily care, like diaper change. She was too busy to teach. My kid (turned 3 year old during her stay) did not bring much art or paper home. The toys in the class were mainly baby toys. The 4 year old after school program - I sent my kids to this school because they promoted a Chinese lesson as enrichment, but it only lasted for 1 month. My 4 year old said her teacher was cold. On Christmas, I helped her make a card for her teacher. She brought it to school and brought it back. She did not give it to her teacher. I asked why. She said, the teacher was not nice to her. What would make a kid make a card but not want to give it out? When i picked them up, I sometimes heard one sub teacher was yelling. Both kids wanted to stop going. Because I had a travel plan, I could not move them before I left. Recently, when I drove by the school, the kids still said I dont like Excel Academy.

The owners are usually onsite, helping out. It is nice to see a locally-owned and operated business doing well. My understanding is that they owned other locations (Southlake) and have sold them to concentrate on this one. Everyday after school, they pick up my daughter at Hidden Lakes Elementary School in Keller and bring her back to the school. They also offer morning service where we can drop our daughter off before 7:20am and they will take her to school. After activities are fun and engaging. They also provide a daily snack. I had taken some Spanish classes in school, but the old adage, "if you don't use it, you lose it", is certainly true. Besides having taken those Spanish classes MANY years ago, I just never used it outside of school. Now more than ever, I really want to learn Spanish. I want to USE my Spanish. And I want to be able to communicate with Spanish speakers here and abroad. So that is what I'm doing... I'm beginning to learn all over again. ...And the process to get started was VERY easy. I called the number, spoke with Karina (the owner - who is a very lovely person, btw), told her about my Spanish speaking experience, and she told me when and where. I first began taking classes once a week, but now I am taking them twice a week. (You have the option to do either). I have had the same teacher the entire time, and she is a wonderful lady as well, Martha. I am in a small group. It is more of a tutoring environment, which I find to be much more conducive to learning. It doesn't matter what level you are at, they have a class for everyone. If you can't even count to 5 in Spanish...there is a class for you. If you speak a little Spanish or are advanced....they have a place for you also. They make sure that you are in a group where you feel comfortable with the level of Spanish that you are learning, so you don't feel overwhelmed or not being pushed enough (if that is what you desire). They offer Spanish classes for children also. I don't know much about these, as I have no children...but I do know, when I happen to glance in on their classroom while I'm going to mine, or happen to see them leaving, they sound and look happy. They also have a user friendly website. I pay for my class through that website, and it takes less than a minute to make the payment. Overall, it is a good learning and practicing environment. The teachers are helpful and enthusiastic. They have a great energy. I honestly have ZERO complaints about this program! Don't hold yourself back...if you've thought about learning Spanish...give this program a try!

We love Studyology! Both my son and daughter benefited greatly from private tutoring and the ACT…read moretest prep. My son increased his ACT score 5 points after going through the test prep. He just completed his first year at the University of Arkansas and did great. My soon to be senior in high school daughter, received Physics tutoring and after a few sessions had an "Aha moment," she got it! Her tutor was patient and funny -- she needed both attributes. She is currently going through the ACT test prep and will take the ACT in October (fingers crossed). Alex has been wonderful to work with, flexible, accommodating and encouraging to my kids.
