TDECU's customer service is always more helpful to help with any of your account questions and any type of transaction you might need to handle. If the first person you get on the phone isn't in the right place, they know exactly where to transfer you to. Not to mention the security services you offer. My family and I have been members for several years now and I don't feel good that this organization profits from our money any more. I needed a stop payment on a check done and have been on the phone for 2 HOURS NOW. I spent over an hour verifying my identity and being transferred before I got to the right department. That person had me tied up over 40 minutes until they transferred me AGAIN after initially refusing to, only to make me hold longer first. They told me they were new and trying to learn how to do it on my time. I've been posting the screen shots of my phone time stamps on their Facebook page under a post about shiny new ATMs with the suggestion they spend some of that money on customer service development. Their social media person was kind enough to comment that they didn't like that and wanted to do better, sealed with a heart emoji. I just hung up AFTER 2:15:00 and was told the stop payment I needed (still paid $28) was finally done. I think you know what to do with your heart emoji... read more

I'd give them zero stars. I worked here for 25 years and had great experiences and great co-workers. Our goal was to always find a way to help members. ALWAYS! I enjoyed doing that. I left tge CU for other opportunities but kept my account there. I've had my account for over 40 years. But it has been increasingly impossible to get even the slightest thing done. The call center either doesn't know how to do anything or has not been given the authority to do anything. It's ridiculous. Even when you talk to a manager they don't know how to make a common sense, risk based decision. I was a compliance officer and know there is a need for policies and procedures. But a good manager knows these are general guidelines and a manager shoukd have the authority to evaluate things and work in the best interest of the members. It's very very frustrating. My experience with Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) (BUC EE's Platinum Mastercard) since opening an account a couple of month ago has been quite disappointing. My bill-pay checks from my bank with account information were refused. I spent hours over several phone calls attempting to resolve their payment processing issues. Both their online & automated phone systems only allow minimum payments. It took an additional 30 minutes on the phone to have a representative set up a bank withdrawal to pay in full. *Beware* - Do not be lured in by a promise of 5% savings at BUC EEs. It is not at all worth the trouble. read more

I have been banking here since I was fourteen years old. I guess old habits are hard to break. Even though I live 3.5 hours away I have found a way to continue using TDECU. I have been patient with the slowness to adopt technology and the ability for the service reps to have a grasp on banking technology available. Their credit card offering are just a slow. With that said they are a conservative banking institution. They always follow the most strict security protocols so I guess that make the good at what they do...protecting my money and making sure I am the one accessing the accounts. Being that they started with local roots the credit union and grown to many branching where Dow does business in Texas it is great to know they still have a good neighbor field. You may have to speak to a supervisor to get help but they always understand and take care of the customer even for someone as difficult as I can be. This bank is for the good ole boys, if you know them and see them everyday, they will not smack you with overdrafts everychance they get. I am a single mother with only my child support check going into that account and I do all my banking online. Saving anything has been impossible, so I have to use that money. If one item puts you over, even if they knew2 days ahead there was a direct deposit going same day they will overdraft. Its not just the big banks that will hurt you. read more

I am having the worst time with this bank. I applied online and paid my opening deposit fee at that time. Got a call the next day to verify my account. I verified that day and called back and everything was supposed to be fine. 2 weeks pass I hadn't received anything, card, paperwork, email nothing. Called back and was told that I hadn't verified because they couldn't find the e-signed forms. They also told me no deposit had been made. Called again spoke with someone else who did in fact find the forms, but still no deposit. My mother went in and made a deposit and stated the tellers said the account was active. I was able to register my online account and saw the initial 30 dollar deposit that no one could find. Week and a half later still no card. Sent a message through my online account asking about the card, same 5-7 business days. Card came a week later, so I'm guessing if I hadn't sent the message I wouldn't have gotten it. Tried to set up an external Bank. Never received the test deposits. Paid my credit cards, the payments were taken back. I was sent 4 statements 2 checking 2 savings, I only have 1 of each. Went to branch was told they would look into it, nothing. Tried to get paperwork notarized there. The only person who could do it was an expired notary. Yesterday took an uber and later on went to order pizza my card was declined. Why? Because uber is based in California and I ordered Pizza in Texas???? Contacted 2 different reps. They said my card was blocked. Called in, had to verify with Falcon, they had a number I haven't had in over a decade so I didn't know. Called falcon and talked with TDECU rep, Rep stated I would be able to use my card in 1 minute. Trying to fund my New CHASE account with my debit. Guess what? Card still blocked. Oh, and I was also told I have to call them if I want to use my card online so it won't be blocked. That should make for some easy Christmas shopping. I just hope my test deposits show up soon so I can say goodbye tdecu. This has been going on since late September. read more
