If I could give Texas Marine/specifically Allen Edwards, sales manager negative stars for customer service, I would. If you want an overpriced boat that IMMEDIATELY falls apart to the point of needing an entire new engine and then ignores you for 10+ weeks and flat out refuses to make it right, this is your place. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with Texas Marine. I certainly wish I had known before making such a large investment with this crooked company. We drove to Clear Lake from SWLA to purchase a used 2015 Yamaha AR192 that we found online on June 28, 2023. It was supposedly "water tested and thoroughly inspected by certified technicians" prior to being listed according to their website but that is clearly not true. Our initial experience was good, but of course it was, we were buying a boat from them. We took the boat home that day and went out on the water the next week on July 4th for the first time. We drove the boat maybe two miles from the launch and parked there for most of the day. That afternoon we drove it back to the launch to drop some friends off. While still in the no wake zone leaving the launch, the boat showed a low oil pressure light. We opened the engine hatch of the boat to see the bottom covered with oil and the dry storage was also FLOODED with oil. (See attached photo). We checked the oil dip stick to see that there was still some oil left. We then reached down to realize that the oil filter was not screwed in and we were able to carefully tighten it by hand bc it was not secured. We brought the boat back to Texas Marine on July 5, 2023 and it has been there since, for 72 days and counting while they have been fighting over who is responsible and trying to file it under our warranty instead of paying for the damage that THEY caused with neglect from their service department. When we brought it back to the dealership the next day, they eventually let us know that the seal was destroyed which they believe happened due to it being overly tightened which would have happened with the service department before we brought home the boat. This in turn destroyed the entire engine which now needed to be replaced. We received calls from the warranty company weeks later saying they needed to tear more into the motor to diagnose whether it was covered under warranty and let us know that we would need to pay $900+ out of pocket to further open the motor if it was not deemed warranty. Allen Edwards reached out to us for the first time on August 23 after the boat had already been there for 56 days. He told us how he would get everything handled ASAP and keep in contact with us. He did not keep his word on either. We have since been passed from person to person who each swear up and down they will right the problem and keep in touch and then we are ghosted for weeks and passed along on to a new person. We finally got to the point after WEEKS of waiting patiently and decided that we did not want the boat back once the engine was fixed because this company is so crooked and we absolutely do not trust the work that they do. Allen had yet ANOTHER sales rep reach out an additional 16 days later to suggest that they resell the boat under consignment and would keep 10%. (See attached photos for what a nightmare that is with this lying sales manager) When we first got the new motor we were told by several people, including Allen that the boat would be worth more now with an entirely new engine. But Allen is now trying to sell it for what we paid and charge us 10%.. Let alone not refunding the almost $10k down payment and two almost three notes we have now paid on a boat we had for 7 days. Sure seems quite shady that someone would tell you this boat is now worth more yet charge the same unless he was going to pocket some of the extra that he made.. Hard to trust someone who has been lying to you from the start. Who knows. I have never had such a terrible experience at a grocery store, let alone trying to buy a BOAT. I am insanely disappointed and will never recommend Texas Marine to anyone. read more

TERRIBLE, just flat out Terrible... Buyer Beware!!! We live in Austin and happened to find this boat online. We then reached out to Texas Marine to setup a test drive. Before coming down, we got a call from the Sales Rep, Belinda, and was told that it was riding a little rough but they had replaced the spark plugs and that everything was fine. We then drove all the way from Austin to their Clearlake Location where the boat was and took the boat out for a test spin. Everything seemed fine, so we went ahead and bought it. During the sale, we were assured that all of their boats go through rigorous testing and that they don't buy used boats to sell unless it passes their "high standards" and expectations. We were also assured that if anything went wrong with the boat that they wouldn't leave us hanging and would do everything in their power to step up if something went wrong. Furthermore, we were also told that buying the extended warranty for the boat would further safeguard us in the event if something went wrong with the engine, etc. We walked out of there thinking we were in great hands and if anything went sideways, they'd step up to the plate... Boy did we get fooled. First sign of BS came shortly after we left when we were told that they were including some life jackets with the purchase of the boat... Checked the boat, nothing was there. Called our sales rep Belinda, got her voicemail, left a message and she never called us back. Second sign of BS came when we had hired a Captain to come out on our boat for lessons. After doing his rounds to check the oil, gas and other things before leaving dock he noticed how tight the gear shift was and immediately raised concern (we have a jet boat). Citing that it was not natural nor SAFE for the gear shift to be that tight and for whoever had sold us the boat "Should be ashamed" for selling this to us in this condition. Third sign of BS came while on the lake for the first time after leaving dock when the Oil Light Sensor came on and we had to immediately shut down the starboard engine. We limped the boat back to the dock and that was the end of our first experience on the water with our boat. Fourth sign of BS came when we went to call our Sales Rep Belinda and then were told after we explained what happened that we "Bought the Boat as Is" and they couldn't help. She said she'd call me back to at least help us find someone here locally who could repair the boat and we never heard from her again. Fifth sign of BS came from the garbage Extended Warranty we purchased. We finally found a local repair shop that could work on our Sea Doo Boat and discovered that because of the Clutch Failure, it caused grinding that sent small metal shards into our oil, which was why the oil sensor turned on (and icing on the cake is that because of the metal shards it broke the sensor and that now needs to be replaced also). The repair shop then let us know that the warranty people would cover the sensor, but wouldn't cover the rebuild and repair of the super charger, although a part of the engine, because it is a gas driven motor and not diesel... I'm sorry, please explain to me how that makes any sense? $1,500 to repair out of our own pocket. So moral of the story is that if you are buying your first boat, like we did, don't buy it from Texas Marine. They did nothing but sell us a broken boat, taken zero ownership for what's happened, sold us a useless warranty that doesn't cover what it says it'll cover, and ultimately has ruined our first experience in so many ways that now all we want to do is sell the boat and never do this again. I work with clients in their businesses and understand the concept of standing behind what you do as a company and your responsibility in sales to be there to support your clients if something goes wrong. What we've experienced with Texas Marine is shameful and inexcusable. Thanks for ruining this entire experience for us Texas Marine and vanishing on us when we needed you to step up and help. read more

I want to acknowledge the excellence of your employees. They did an incredible job of preparing me for boat ownership last fall. I stopped by to learn more about runabout boats as summer was drawing to a close and the salesman answered all of my questions and provided useful input and even provided useful input on marine power plants. While our initial meeting was brief, I quickly decided that Texas Marine was the go-to reference resource for pleasure boating. As I learned from them I began thinking about the construction of boats and motors vs. sheer size alone. Through their efforts, such as the water experience they took me on, I bought a large twin engine Yamaha. Texas Marine made boat buying a pleasure, not a hassle. I also want to mention the after the sale support provided. The delivery was beautiful. A few weeks later they installed the anchor I purchased from their store. At my first outing my salesperson even came down to the launch site to make sure we got underway safely and everything went smooth. Every time I had questions, they had answers. I realized early on that I was not just buying a boat but I was undertaking a relationship with a boat dealership. I love going in now to buy accessories because I feel as though I am visiting friends. read more

When I was in the process of buying my Nautic Star, you called me out of the blue just to make sure everything was going good. You mentioned something about "Inspecting what Texas Marine Expects..." I like that, and you also said if I ever had an issue that required a little extra help, or if I just wanted to "Brag on Texas Marine and it's employees", that you would love to hear that also. This email is to brag. From the first visit where I met Jerry Spiller, who turned out to be the store manager, and through the entire process, it was a great experience! I normally do not have time in my life to do surveys, and things like this, but Texas Marine deserves the credit. I find it rare nowadays for "Above and Beyond" what is necessary, but Texas Marine, Jerry Spiller, and every person I have dealt with has been great. I bought my boat from the Conroe location, and now that i am ready to sell it I can see they really stuck it to me price wise. My boat is in pristine condition, and they low balled me big time. 5 years old and still has the extended warranty. I highly recommend not buying a boat from them. Especially new. My suggestion is buy used, and buy from some one else. Since I mentioned the warranty, they never told me that it would end up being pro rated. So they f**ked me in the front and then in the rear. Lets get to the service department... I have never heard of so may excuses from a service department. This in clear lake Texas marine location BTW. They are always backed up. You have to call and remind these guys who you are and reiterate what you want done. They are never done, and super expensive. I've learned that boat industry in general is a big scam, and I will never ever by a boat from any of the Texas marine locations. Try others dealers out, and definitely do not buy into their "boat show prices". read more

I had an awesome experience at Texas Marine. Craig Snyder was good to work with. He answered all of my questions over the phone, sent videos of the boat inside and out. He also took it on a water test and sent me a video of everything working before I drove 7 hours to check it out. They had the boat hooked up ready for a water test when I arrived. After looking and deciding to go forward with the boat, they had all of the paperwork ready. I was in and out in less than two hours from time of arrival. They took care of my out of state taxes, boat registration and tag also, so I just have to wait for all of that to come in the mail. I definitely recommend taking a hard look at Texas Marine in Seabrook if you are from out of state and they have what you are looking for. read more

Texas Marine is an exceptional dealership and I wanted to brag on how professional and well they treated me. They went way beyond the call of duty to help me with my boat. I hit something and needed to deal with it immediately. They told me to "come on in!" When I arrived they got right on it. I couldn't have asked for faster service. We had to order items and they did it so quickly and efficiently, despite it not being on their list of parts normally serviced. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the courteous and professional manner in which you guys treated me. You have earned a loyal customer. I simply told the guys what I wanted to receive for my boat and they said "I think I can work that out." Next thing I know I am receiving my check from Texas Marine, this week, as promised.
