Most doctor office staff are pretty unfriendly...probably has something to do with working for arrogant dickhead doctors. But the staff here are probably the worst I have encountered. I don't think they have ever even encountered the phrase 'customer service' or 'service with a smile.' That and like most medical offices, they seriously overbook...so I have never been in and out of here in less than an hour even though my time with the doctor rarely topped 10 minutes. Now I just come here to pick up paperwork for my mother-in-law. I can't wait until it is all paperless and can be sent via email. Oh and they usually have Fox News blaring...that isn't even real news!

That's their prerogative and it wouldn't be a problem except when I originally called to make the appointment, I specifically asked about that and was assured my insurance would be accepted. Not. The employee "assisting" me was unfriendly, rude, and unapologetic. Because of their incompetence, I wasted my time going to a non-appointment, had to find another PCP, make another appointment (in three weeks), and wait to get my prescriptions refilled.

They do take walk-ins, but appointments are recommended. Ms. Jessica Hinson is one of Dr. Gonzalez's PA's, and she is amazing! She listens, and takes her time. I never feel that she is in a hurry to get to the next patient. When blood work is needed, it is convenient because they have a lab on the premises, you don't have to arrange to have it done elsewhere. They also can do EKG's if necessary. My entire family has all their health-care needs taken care of at Family Medical Associates!

I've been having a very difficult time getting a refund that was paid. Family Medicine Associates…read morehad been sending texts, emails and voicemails regarding a doctors visit that had been paid, and that I actually overpaid by $100. I pleaded with them and advised that this bill had been paid, even after I provided documentation from the bank they continued with "overdue bill " notices. I finally got through and obtained an email address and AGAIN sent documentation of checks (front and back) and finally after months was advised that yes indeed bill had been paid and that my account showed the overpayment. I was assured that I would receive my refund in a week and it's now been 3 weeks and I've yet to receive my refund. I have tried contacting them and sending emails and have yet to receive any response. I find this very UNPROFESSIONAL to say the least. So very frustrated!!
