Was in town on vacation and was really excited to come by this store as I'd seen it years ago when in town but it was after hours so I didn't get to go in then and had remembered it. Unfortunately, it ended up being a bit of a disappointment. Pros: - huge selection of Pops, comic books, figures Cons: - very disorganized and cluttered - not welcoming (wasn't even acknowledged until I went up to pay) -employee was cursing loudly while speaking with another customer -overpriced All in all, as a collector this was tough to see. I have visited Corpus, 4 times in the past 10 months. I also stop in to see what they have , always getting new stock. I have 3 teenage boys who collect anime pops. The ones that want are hard to find, but usually I find them here. Their prices are a bit higher than other places, but I understand in owning a small business during the times we are in. The owner, who is very knowledgeable and most of the time friendly to me when I visit. But I can understand his frustration. Being there on a weekend is very overwhelming. You have customers, adults and kids who just move stuff around and don't put back in place. But overall, I have always had a decent experience while visiting. I probably have spent over $800 here. The young gentleman at the register is very unhappy at times. But overall I will visit again. read more

Having both seen them, as well as visited one or two, I know there are other comic book stores in Corpus. With that being said, there are no other comic book stores which matter. The store has some good specials every once in a while. But their pricing is very sketchy. I was down there last weekend and picked up 5 comic books from their bind. Cover price was $3.99 for each and one was 2.99. Well I checked out and got to my truck...and noticed the receipt. They charged me $4.50 per comic book before taxes and after the supposed 20% off on all comics. So i thought hey they were busy, HAS to be a mistake. Went back and this is what the cashier told me. She explained that the comics in the bind were a "little more" expensive and that the 20% off had been applied. Now I saw the 50 signs they have up promoting the 20% off....but not one single sign that states this added charge for comic books in the binds. So beware of what you buy there, prices can change at a drop of a hat..and check your receipt before you walk out because they don't do refunds. read more

Staff member did not honor the price on the item I got, and was being extremely rude about it. The item did not have a price tag on it so it was assumed it was $8.79 like the sign stated. He continued to explain that some are missed because they have to stock during the day. I understand the difficulty, but the worker could have been nicer and more professional about it. He stated at the end "it's $15, do you want it or not". The worker was tall and had dark hair. This store is awesome. I am a huge Marvel fan that enjoys a good comic and much more. Has so many comics to choose from. Plus collectibles, poster, books, figurings, and much more I have started quite a collection of comic books from them. I am looking for a certain one the store has it. I will give them props on having a great selection of items but their pricing system is terrible. For example, most of the pop figures were being sold for $14.99. You can find these at other stores for as low as 8.99 (target or Barnes and noble) Or even at other local comic book stores for up to 11.99. There was an angry groot that was priced for $50! You can find that on eBay for $25 or less with free shipping! The moment I saw these prices, I knew this store isn't about the customer but about the profits. This store stiffed me on an amazon order for $88 in shipping on a $22 gremlins toy that was listed as $34 in shipping on checkout. Their answer when I tried to get a refund: You pushed the button. I returned the item out of pocket myself and they didn't even refund the amount of the toy $22. I hope someone steals from them like they stole from me. read more

This store is so awesome! They have so many amazing toys and comics and collector items. They even have the new Dead Space 2 figures. The coolest thing(s) I saw in this place were the 3D movie posters (so cool! and they even light up!) and then large size figures of movies (i.e., the exoskeleton of the terminator). Anytime I am visiting a new town I am always on the look out for cool places like this. Its almost like a Dragon's Liar. The layout of the store is a good size for what it sells, large enough to have a good selection and at the same time, not that small. The only bad thing about this place are their prices (some items going for over a hundred or more dollars) and then the comic book selection is a huge mess. Most are organized by the title but you also have a lot just thrown about on top of the stacks. These two are about your only downfall to this place. If you are an advid comic book collector or love collecting movie figures and toys then this is a place you gotta check out. Its right next door to Target. They also give military discounts and 20% off on all comic books everyday. Those are pretty good incentives to go. So if your around and in the area or just looking for an awesome place to check out in general then be sure to stop by. If you are the business owner then maybe you can consider adding in board games and providing a space for hard-core board games and RPG gamers. Three and a half stars--AOK and then some Texas Toyz has a formidable selection of comics and collectibles for almost every genre. I could spend an hour wandering through the racks and cases, no problem. The only thing that leaves me scratching my head about this store is their bewildering pricing system. Collectibles seem to be either a bargain or ridiculously overpriced with not much in between---resulting in my leaving the store smiling broadly or completely empty handed. The extra half star is earned by the store owner's civic mindedness and care about his community. Last December I stopped by H-E-B grocery and noticed a Toys for Tots fundraising drive outside in the parking lot. I walked over to pay my respects and make my own small contribution when I saw several large boxes of toy donations from Texas Toyz. I appreciate local businesses who invest in the community of their patrons and feel they deserve a shoutout for their efforts. Bravo, Texas Toyz, for giving back! read more

My family and I drove from San Antonio to check out this store because we saw how large of a selection they had of Funko Pops. The store was very disorganized and cramped, overall not very clean either. The prices were way over pop price guide and the general prices you see online as well, so I would not recommend this store just for that reason. The worst part of my experience was by far the customer service though. Neither of the people attending the shop were nice or helpful. Every time any of us would ask about a price or for help with the pops way up high it really seemed like they could not be bothered. One of the pops in the back did not have a price and as I was walking to the front to ask about it one of the workers grabbed it out of my hands and proclaimed that it was probably around $200. The way they said this was rude and condescending, as if I could not afford it if I wanted it. I will never give my money to a business like this again and I would recommend not shopping at this store. The prices are way too high and the service is terrible. read more

I am convinced that this store is way more interested in their profits than the customers. Everything in the store is overpriced. I even saw toys you can find at Walmart,Target, or HEB going for twice the price there. I wouldn't doubt they buy up all of Targets toys and mark them up! Since my post was deleted on their Facebook page, and now they have blocked me from posting, I shall leave a review. I was looking to add to my statue collection and decided to pay Texas Toyz a visit. Their collection of statues are completely overpriced ($600 for a Bowen Angel statue, that you can get brand new for $155 for the manufacturer, there are many others as well) and I understand why many of their statues are still there. It is very disappointing that a store would do this. I will continue to stick with online store rather than give this company my business. read more

This place is not interested in giving customer service. Deceiving. I live in San Antonio and planned a trip to buy some toys but after a horrible online experience I decided to take my purchasing needs elsewhere. They say they have top quality toys but aren't near "top quality". Staci take care of your customers and your business will flourish. I don't even want to give this place one star...I'm sure the staff is nice enough but these prices are ridiculous. $15 for regular pops and $50 for a rare pop that I can find online for half the price and free shipping?...I'll take my chances on that. I don't want to support this place simply because it would be like I'm approving of then charging an arm and a leg through the nose; yes, that painful. I was very impressed with this store! The staff were very friendly both in person and over the phone. The space is larger than it looks from the outside, and jam-packed with collectibles. Even if you're not big into action figures (which I am not), it creates a nice atmosphere for comics buyers. The Internet led me to expect a limited selection of comics, but this was definitely not the case. There are plenty of current issues (including rare variants), back issues, and trades (especially Marvel trades :) ). I was able to find a couple things I hadn't found in any store in my hometown. I felt that the comics were well organized (by publisher, then by title) and yes, random trades were scattered on top of the back issues. Weirdly enough, I liked that quirk of organization. It's not hard to move a single book out of your way, and having stuff laying around gives a homey, eclectic feel. If you're in Corpus and want some comics, I'd say go here. read more
