I had a Tom Kha Hed, coconut soup flavoured with galangal, lemongrass, chili oil, tomatoes, and mushrooms (£5.95); and my partner had Kanom Jeeb (£6.95), steamed minced pork and prawn dumplings with sweet dark soy sauce. For mains we both chose Gang-Ga Ree, a Thai yellow curry with potatoes, onions, coconut milk topped with fried shallots, mine with tofu, and my partner's with chicken (£10.95). My partner enjoyed his meal, and would score it 4/5; I found both Tom Kha and the curry to be under-spiced for Thai food, and the Tom Kha was a little claggy. My Gang-Ga Ree had an awful lot of potato in it, and with the rice, felt like a lot of carb overload - and it was possibly the mildest Thai curry I've ever had. So I'd score the food 3/5. Service was efficient throughout, and it wasn't an expensive evening out (under £50) , so we've gone for 4/5 overall.

So one-zero, ball in the middle. The food was good, I would say a bit too spicy also when not expected; my advice is to pay attention to the stars because a medium is quite hot, and I like chillies. The perfection could have been possible by speeding up the service a bit. OK, slow service is normally a good sign mean is fresh. In fact, all or stuff were quite good, but it must be said I notice a particular preference for prioritising the takeaway / delivery food. We have also asked our soup to be served as a starter, but they messed up and brought as a main. Or neighbours got something wrong in a similar fashion. Price wise is OK. Not cheap, but worth a visit.

I'll start off by saying that I don't generally give places a full five stars on my first visit…read morebecause they'll usually do something trivial to irritate me or their food won't knock my socks off. This place, however, had amazing food, the best Thai tea that I've ever had, and the woman who served us (I won't insult her by trying to spell her name) was extremely friendly and forthcoming despite the fact that they were closing in twenty minutes for the end of lunch. I'm from The States; so, perhaps I find British food a little bland and repetitive after a few months but their food had great flavor and was decently priced for the quality. After stumbling through the menu after a night of drinking, she kindly joked that I needed some sugar to clear my fuzzy head and recommended that I have a large Thai tea as we waited for our food. I agreed and Boy! Am I grateful I did. You won't find any of that orange, powdered pre-made stuff like you do in the states at this spot. It was so refreshing and definitely the pick-me-up that I needed. The Bangkok Pad Thai with prawns was also delicious. She let me spice it up and cautioned me against ordering the Thai Spicy until I came back haha. I stuck with a level three and it had some good heat to it. I also got eight giant prawns in a medium sized amount of Pad Thai. For me, that's pretty amazing considering that it was only 10 pounds and typically places either give you those tiny prawns or only one or two of them. So, I'll definitely be getting it again. My friends ordered the Drunken Noodles (with rice noodles) and the Panang Chicken Curry. They both let me try a bite of both and they were also amazing. The coconut milk in the curry is phenomenal and the drunken noddles had a nice savory taste. I would also order their meals another time. Other than the food being well worth it, the woman who took care of us and took our take out order was hilarious and I can't wait to go back and get to actually dine in. I'll be posting photos the next time!

Outside of Thailand this must be the best Thai cuisine that I have tasted. Not only the taste but…read morethe service and atmosphere as soon as you arrive. Thai greetings by genuine Thais. However, the main thing, the food. A wonderful, extensive menu at reasonable prices. Even drinks are reasonable for a restaurant. Prices that more resemble than a pub. Who is to complain? Service by very friendly staff, friendly but totally professional. A wonderful evening with a friend of my partner. We will be back. Only down, and not the fault of the restaurant, was an extremely noisy table of eight. Nobody could have a conversation until they left. There was a noticeable sigh from many tables at that point. Anyway, ladies may I say ' - kp-kun-kráp' (thank you) from the three of us.

(However, they don't deliver - so you'll need to either dine in or collect). It's 10% off if you take-away so all is good! Tom yum - absolutely fantastic with a good spice range and tender chicken Tamarind duck - a hit every time and less sweet than expected (good thing as can be sickly sweet) Red duck curry (Gaeng Ped Yang) - solid coconutty choice which doesn't skimp on the meat Have had their crispy chicken wontons (Kio Krob) and the Golden Treasures appetiser which was just okay. Didn't seem as freshly made.

Doesn't appear that this fine pub has any recent reviews - not to be overlooked though!…read more We looked around for something spicy on our recent visit to Cambridge (and had Indian the night prior), and The Wrestlers came up. Fairly buddy on a Thursday night but the bar host seated us. The menu has the usual curries and noodle dishes; order at the bar. Portions are generous, flavorful, and showed up quickly. A variety of drafts, wine, and soft drinks to complete the meal. A little noisy but manageable; enjoy!

The Wrestlers, where British pub atmosphere and Thai cuisine come together in Cambridge…read more It's located along a busy stretch of Newmarket Road, walkable by 20 minutes from the main part of town or accessible via car park near the superstore. The building itself functioned as a public house as early as the 1800s, but has since been updated in furnishings and food fare--Thai, to be exact. With the exception of pub Prawn Crackers, there are no starters, just mains. Straightforward and no frills. Find your seat, order at the bar. Each plate will cost between £9 and £11. We both got Pud Thai; one with vegetables and cashews and the other with beef. The portions are large and I had to pack the rest of mine in a takeaway box. As it's a pub, prepare for noise and difficulty finding seats around dinnertime. Luckily we came earlier for lunch. I didn't order a drink this time, but they have the standard selection of cask ales and cidres to go with your meals.
