I know what you must be thinking: "Miriam, what possessed you to eat Thai food in Brussels?"
And trust me, I knew I was taking a chance that was not likely to end up well with this one.
Oh, but Thai Talks? Thai Talks did me so right.
I liked the look of this little spot right away. An older Thai lady, in a tiny kitchen facing the street; four tables at max squeezed in the rest of the small space.
I got the green papaya salad, a curry and some noodles. The standout was, without a doubt, the bright and piquant green papaya salad. I would've kept shovelling the stuff in my mouth had the portion not run out.
Both the curry and noodles were nice, and it was clear to me why so many locals popped in for takeaway whilst I sat eating my dinner. One dude from a shop across the street came to pick up his plated food and return awhile later to deposit his dirty dishes.
The most I ever felt at home in Brussels was during the meal I had at Thai Talks. When you tire of the city's ubiquitous moules frites, meander over here for a taste of Thailand you won't soon forget. read more
