Do not contract this man for any services. There are numerous negative reviews of his shady…read morebusiness practises, demanding fees paid in advance, aggressive and intimidating harrassment of customers via phone. He is reported by multiple clients to either not showing up for previously agreed and paid for work, or in some cases, even causing damage to then demand further payment to repair it. Given he only takes payment via bank transfer or cash, you have no recourse for refunds outside the small claims court. This listing is for a sole trader, not a company. Despite claims of multiple offices, all numbers direct to the single plumber, Mark McCabe. He appears to operate multiple phone numbers and sometimes messages in 3rd person to appear as a more legitimate business: "Mark is currently in Marlow". In our case Mark agreed to a list of jobs over the phone to be completed in one week's time. He then texts from a different number with bank transfer details for a deposit for the 1st hour of work, £150. On the day, he shows up two hours late, during a time when I was personally unavailable to discuss the work. After a quick view of the site with my wife, Mark explains that he has underestimated the extent of the work and has to produce a quote instead, then leaves. The quote arrives via text from a yet another phone number, with a disclaimer that it must be paid up front in cash or bank transfer to "secure a date". Rejecting the quote, I request for the deposit to be refunded. This was rejected. Over incresingly aggravated WhatsApp messages, Mark claims the payment was made for the assessment of work on site and to not be refundable even if no actual services were rendered.

Minus one The website for this company is misleading. They…read moredo not operate a 24 hour call out service. They do not give free estimates or quotations. They do not operate a genuine local service since their address is a mail box company in Maidenhead High St. My unfortunate experience with them relates to a basement macerator which needed the pipework to be adjusted under the shower tray as per an engineers report from Pumpmaster. I spoke for 15 mins to the owner Mark Maccabe regarding this problem and was assured his plumber was first class. I was then asked for a £129.00 'deposit' (when is a call out fee, not a call out fee?) which I reluctantly paid as this tied me into the work., but Mr Mc Cabes sales pitch gave me confidence. The plumber had not been informed of the nature of the job required. For £129 he spent an hour telling me that the Saniflo Slim (approx. value £700) was of poor quality. The macerator had been fully serviced in Sept 2024 and the engineers was very thorough and made it clear the work that was necassaryto alleviate an issue of soil water from the toilet getting into the shower tray. The plumber also called Mark arrived he seemed reluctant to do the heavy work specified, he decided he enigeers report was wrong as he had been 30 years as a tradesman and he had superior knowledge to Pumpmaster/Saniflo. The unit was "no good". He prceeded to critisize and condem the company complaining their products were very poor and and had deteriorated in recent years (my previous Sani Flow lasted 12+ years) He also managed to squeeze in a lengthy report of his health issues. He came back a few days later with a new unit confident that he was correct and my problem would be solved. It was not, the soil water continued to leak into the shower tray. He returned three more times to stop a leak from the toilet. On the third occasion he was supposed to fit a part to the shower tray. He did not. Instead he tried to force a 1.5 " doughnut seal over a 2" fitting on the toilet. The leak continued. I called the the office (the mail box ) Friday a.m. They did not offer the '24 hour Call Out Service as advertised, instead Mr McCabe he became quite aggressive and said the business was closed for the weekend as they were going away. By Monday morning I had filled 5 towels with water from the leak. I did not feel confident to allow the plumber Mark access to my property so I sent him away and had the leak fixed by another plumber. The cost to me has been approx £1000 including the second plumber, who fitted the correct doughnut and was forced to disconnect the shower entirely. Absolute also removed a 4 year old £700 + macerator in fully serviced and in good clean condition from my home without my permission or knowledge and have refused to give me details of the replacement which I believe to be a cheap generic model, too large for the original fitting (which was why it leaked) My information is that removing the original macerator from my property without my knowledge or permissiont constitued theft. I have asked for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 under as the work done was not the work I had asked for and it was done to a very poor standard. Mr McCabe refused.

THE (CRAFTS)MAN WITH THE VAN…read more Having been given word of mouth recommendation by neighbours, we enlisted F.S.C. proprietor Francis Corcoran to do some garden work at the front of the house. Very satisfied with that, we then asked for a quote to remove a ridiculous rockery from the bottom of the back garden, which was effectively reducing its usable size. The rear fence also required replacement. From the initial expression on his face, (http://photobucket.com) I had the impression that he did not really fancy demolishing the damned thing, but sure enough, he came through with a quote. He was very proactive in suggesting a design for a patio, recommending materials ( and justifing why). We did not get any further quotes but decided to use him. The price seemed reasonable and I appreciated his input. Not so much What do you want? but more I would suggest". The job was sorted out in a record time of just a few days. Francis is a real grafter (filled a skip with rubble and earth in some 4 hrs!), (http://photobucket.com) as well as being a precision craftsman. (http://photobucket.com) Odd issues inevitably cropped up as they do (buried lumps of concrete, even an odd underground mesh of heavy steel cable) and he always managed to come up with a logical solution rather than a 'bodge'. These problems were all sorted out with despatch. When the patio was finally complete, he even managed to pull the (full and heavy) shed across so that it aligned perfectly! I have no hesitation in recommending him wholeheartedly for garden landscaping, maintenance, fencing, turfing, patios and general renovation/repair. The new patio is now guarded by a charming soapstone carving which was rescued from Zimbabwe before barmy brute Bob Mugabe became a total basket-case. (http://photobucket.com) So depending upon the prevailing climatic conditions, the 'terraza' is definitely being put to good use! (http://photobucket.com) With so many 'cowboy builders' around these days, it is a refreshing change to find one of this calibre.
