Yesterday I went in for my first (and only) bridal fitting unsure of what to expect but hopeful that I would find MY dress for my July 2023 wedding. Of course my family was there and I also had a zoom meeting with my bridal party but Addy was very knowledgeable and informative about the process. She had me pick 3-5 dresses to try on and although we spoke about what kind of dress I was interested in she advised that I also pick at least 1-2 other styles of dresses to get a feel for my style and size. I can't tell you how much I love this place! It is truly amazing. The shop manager, seamstress and staff are outstanding. This was my second stop for dress shopping and the shop manager nailed it in minutes. I felt special, and my dress is beyond gorgeous!!!! It was an amazing experience. I just left the store moments ago and they will never have me as a customer. I went in with my fiance to look at wedding gowns and the entire time we were in there we had no greeting and no one cared to see if they could help us. The lady with the dark hair at the desk was too busy on the phone with her friend to do her job. Two women came into the store to the desk to ask about prom dresses and she reluctantly answered their question but continued to ignore us even though we were right by her desk. I dont understand why you would ignore a customer who is willing to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding gown for a prom dress especially after looking through all the gowns for 20 minutes. Don't bother coming here for a wedding gown because I'm sure the experience will be awful. read more

Wow! What a selection of dresses and what incredible service! The dresses were all moderately priced - from bridal gowns to bridesmaids dresses - and the owner, Valerie and her daughter Michelle were there to assist. We had an appointment and were welcomed immediately. The store is in Spotsy Towne Center where the old Coldwater Creek store was (caddy corner from Bravos) and it's HUGE and very inviting. There is plenty of seating for family and the dressing rooms are enormous and private. There are ample mirrors in the dressing room so that if you don't like what you see, you can just skip the "fashion show" and change out of the dress before walking into the store to show family. My daughter, the bride, and my other two daughters, had the most absolutely relaxing and fun day trying on dresses and feeling pretty. The bride found her dress at dress number 3 and Michelle even helped her pick out accessories that finished off the ensemble. My daughters loved what they saw but one of them was 7 months pregnant and wanted to try on a few more that were closer to her size so she could get an idea of what it would look like. After a HORRIBLE experience at Formal Envy on William Street (see that review to compare), we ended up back at That's My Dress where Val was there to receive my daughters (who at this point were literally in TEARS) and gave them all a consoling hug. She was emotionally upset, too, for the ordeal we had been put through. Within 15 minutes, my youngest got the most beautiful dress and we were on our way. Val and Michelle saved the day and I couldn't be happier. Thank you ladies for salvaging what could have been a disastrous day for my girls. You are both AWESOME!! read more

My daughter needed a dress for a title pageant at a National Dance Competition. We have done many dance competitions, but this was the first time my daughter needed a pageant dress. Absolutely awful! I ordered my dress and that lady was not very nice to me at all. I was the very FIRST bridesmaid to purchase my wedding dress. I was the very LAST person to receive my dress. I purchased my dress in good time. I was told my dress would be there in the beginning of September. I did not received my dress until October 23rd. The wedding was November 2nd. I barely had time to get alterations. When I called the staff were not really concerned about anything I had to say. They offered to ship my dress to my house at no cost but honestly that was nothing to me. It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. read more

Its really unfortunate that I have to give this place a 1 star! We came to this shop with very high hopes as they seemed to have some nice wedding dresses from designers I like! But we had the worst experience. We drove 2 hours to try a dress I was interested in with my mother in law to finalize the order and even though we called and specifically asked for the dress and they confirmed it's available , when we got there they said they sent it out to NYC for a show the same day we got there! Now how is that acceptable? It was really embarrassing in front of my family and my future in laws to have them drive 2 hours just to see a dress on me. We still tried to give them a chance and spoke to the owner Valerie, she promised us to track the dress down and get back to us but not only she hasn't ONCE called me to follow up, I called 4 times and all her and the other employees say is "I will call you in an hour with a tracking number." But I have yet to get that phone call. Now as a Bride all I need is more stress specially about your dress that I have a stricken timeline to order! All I can say is I wish this shop was more reliable I should've took the 3star more serious and wouldn't make these 2 hour trips every time for nothing! read more

Val, Sandy, Michelle, and all the ladies at That's My Dress took incredible care of me during my dress shopping experience! Val and her staff are exceptional in every way. They were so patient and attentive to every detail. I went in for my first consultation and found what I thought was the dress of my dreams. I couldn't commit, however, as my sister was not present. I returned again, later, with my mother, daughter, and sister, and to my heartbreak, the dress had been sold. The dress could have simply been reordered for me, but I had already told myself if it wasn't there, it wasn't meant to be. So as convinced as I was that I would never find anything like the first dress, we started over one by one. They listened, so patient with me, so supportive. My consultant, Sandy, put me in dress after dress. After many dresses, much disappointment, ready to quit, ready to just buy a dress that "would do", Sandy had one more dress that she *had* to put me in. She just knew I would love it. That was it. It was the most incredible dress I've ever laid eyes on. She delivered in a way I never could have imagined. I cannot wait to walk down the aisle to the man of my dreams in the most perfect dress on earth. I could not have done this without them!! I'm going to give them 2 stars. I had a 5 star experience shopping at the store, Valerie (the owner) was accommodating, helpful, and great. I found the PERFECT dress. While I was there though, I heard one of the associates complaining loudly and rudely about how the next appointment wasn't there yet and she was supposed to be there at 11- even though it was exactly 11 when she was complaining. Without writing an incredibly long review, after purchasing it we had some issues with its cleanliness (there were some make up stains) and problems with the lining across my chest. I voiced my concerns extremely kindly and although some of the issues were resolved, I was made to feel stupid and a little uncomfortable. They're nice, but just NO! This was the very first place i went to for my wedding dress. The lady who appeared to be the owner said that I was allowed to look around and try some dresses on but i needed to make an appointment. Her daughter who helped me in and out of dresses was nice but didn't really help me figure out what i liked and didn't like about each dress. It's like they didn't even care to help me or even want my business. I like that you can take your dress home that day but their inventory is very limited and they do not carry the same dress in multiple sizes. Aweful service! Went there to look for a wedding dress and the lady wouldn't get out from behind the counter. I saw a couple I would have liked to try on and asked her if she had the undergarments to try and she said we only have them in black...black??? They sell white wedding dresses, some off white and only have black undergarments? I felt this was her way of not helping me so I left. Go to Davids bridal! Worst customer service of any bridal shop in the area. 2 of my bridesmaids went to get their dresses here and they were all but ignored during their appointment, treated like second class, and there was only one other customer in the store so I can't see it being because they were busy. Every time one of my friends asked to try on a different dress she got an eye roll and an aggravated tone from the girl helping us. We did buy the 2 dresses we wanted, but after our experience we will not be getting alterations done here. I would not recommend this store to anyone looking for a dress, unless you would like to do it by yourself while your snobby worker disappears. read more

After visiting my first choice bridal boutique and not finding "the one," I walked into this shop on a whim as I was walking around the mall. I was just curious to see what they had, and I didn't expect to find anything. Even without an appointment I was able to try on dresses, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I fell in love with two dresses and came back today to make my final decision and I ended up buying one My experience today was amazing and I am so pleased with how it went. I got a wonderful deal on a beautiful designer dress, that I now have in my hands and I don't have to wait months for it to come in! I had my very first bridal appointment at That's My Dress the other day and it was such a wonderful experience! It's clear that Valerie and Michelle love fashion. They truly understand it and the figure of a real woman. They're down to earth and so personable. As a bigger girl they knew what was going to look good on me but also listened to what I wanted and was looking for. They found dresses that fit me so well and accentuated all the good things I love about my body. I had an early morning appointment making me the only bride in the store. It so personal and relaxed. I felt like I was in my own closet (but with prettier clothes and a personal shopper (: ). I'm so glad they were my first stop and I couldn't have asked for more. I think I found the one there and am just waiting to confirm a customization. Regardless, they're the real deal and gave me such fabulous treatment! Bridal requires an appointment and be open minded. Valerie is the very reason why my experience at That's My Dress was wonderful and stress free. I originally bought a dress elsewhere and was not happy with how it turned out. I basically went running into her store panicking, because my wedding was just a week and half away! I explained to Valerie what I envisioned my dress to look like and she took me right under her wing. We went searching through her enouromous selection of dresses until we found "the dress!" I knew it was the one as soon as I stepped into it. Well...the dress problem was solved, but where was I going to go that would alter my dress in less than a week? Valerie told me not worry...get in my car and follow her! She took me to Just Fab alterations. Having Valerie there was like having my mom there. She told them exactly what needed to be done to the dress. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease with everything! I highly recommend this place! The quality, the selection and the customer service you receive is outstanding! Valerie, thank you for taking charge and being my mom for those few hours. Maybe for some, this shop will be ok. I however was not impressed. I did show up 5 mins late due to traffic and they were nice about that. However, once getting there they advised me that they did not have anything in my budget. I let them know my budget weeks ago via email, and was never told at that time, they only told me once I have arrived. So I had to raise my budget to try on dresses to $1,000, still with that not a huge selection. The women helping me seemed annoyed, pushy, and rude. She was not very friendly, and a women whom I assume is the manager, kept interrupting her with questions about what dresses she pulled and almost took over the appointment. The problem with this, is the manager, did not hear what I was and was not looking for, so she kept pulling dresses that I already expressed I did not want. This appointment was more annoying than fun, and disappointing. We did not stay the whole time, and I would not recommend this shop. read more

I recently visited That's My Dress in search of my wedding dress. I have visited a few other bridal shops in the area (Northern VA) and this is by FAR the worst! It was recommended by one of my friends who had a bridesmaid fitting here and she said there was a large selection of dresses- so based on her recommendation I made the 1hr drive on always congested 95 south only to waste my time. I had an appointment and showed up with a friend and my mom a few minutes early..to start off with we were not greeted or acknowledged when we went in the store. We walked around aimlessly for a while until we finally had to ask someone for help. When we finally get their attention they ask us to wait and look around the store to start picking out dresses. After a good 20 minutes a lady walks up to me and asks if I'm ready to start trying on dresses. Mind you, there was only 1 other customer in the store trying on dresses so it was not like they were busy. The lady that comes up to me does not introduce herself, does not ask for my name or who I was with..she just asked when was the wedding and if I was ready to try on dresses. I have been to other bridal shops in which they make it a special experience..first sounding interested (even if they are not really) in the wedding, what style you like and what you have in mind, based on that, they pick dressed out for you etc..none of that was happening here. The lady had me pick out the dresses i liked, which was overwhelming bc I didnt even know where to start so i quickly picked some out since she wanted me to start trying some on..it felt very rushed. SO in the the dressing room, she offers no help putting on those massive gowns. She just stands outside the door waiting for me to say that I was ready so she can fully zip up my back..that's it. Some dresses were big and falling off of me and I asked if she could use the dress clamps to put it in place and she said "no" every time..either because the fabric was too delicate or the crystals or something..so every time I went out to show the dress it was falling off of me. It was hard to see what it would actually look like if it fit. The consultant was not helpful AT ALL. My friend took over and started picking out dresses for me and bringing them back. It was very frustrating. In summary, I would say that there is a decent selection of dresses but the customer service is awful. They are suppose to be the experts and know what they have in their store and based on that make recommendations..none of that! You are on your own wondering the store going through all these gowns trying to figure out what you like. Needless to say, I did not find my dress that day and I would not recommend this place to people who value good customer service. People who give this place good reviews in customer service have obviously not experienced a real bridal boutique where customer service and customer experience is truly valued and provided. read more

I went here with one of my good friends to search for her wedding dress. We had an appointment and walked in expecting the normal bridal treatment and were very disappointed by the way the staff helped us. The consultants didn't pull dresses or ask personal questions about taste, wedding colors, etc. instead we were directed to walk around the store and pull dresses we liked. All of the dresses were expensive and we ended up leaving without trying anything on. I also found it very tacky and distasteful that they had tip jars around the store. If I'm spending 1,500 dollars on a gown I'm not going to tip you on top of your commission. Just tacky! I wish I could give this less stars. I was here just a couple of minutes ago shopping for my cousin's prom dress. The older woman working there, told us she was "working overtime" when taking a dress off the mannequin, with a very ungracious attitude. Then, when my aunt asked if military discounts were available, she said yes, but "only for the actual service member" and again, ungraciously. I'm not sure why she wouldn't have guessed that my aunt is indeed a Marine. My aunt clarified she was the service member and the associate, almost through her teeth, in a slow voice, said that she would go check on the discount, even though moments prior she had just confirmed there was a military discount. By this time, myself and my family were in shock by this treatment and decided to abandon the dress we chose. There was absolutely no reason that we should have been treated this way as we said that we would gladly work with another associate. read more

This business is nothing short of awful. We did not get what we wanted what so ever. 1 out of the 4 dresses we ordered and paid for up front were correct. I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from here December 9th. I was told 3-4 months. And that's plenty of time for them to be here. I began calling to check up on them in April, between my calls being dodged to feeling not valued, it got tiring. This was supposed to be one of the things that wasn't stressful. And it turned out to be the most stressful part of all the wedding planning. One of the times I went in to check on the status of my dresses I got my order print outs from a sweet girl who worked there. On one of the print outs it says it wasn't ordered til APRIL 28th. Oh and they used bridal show coupons on them as well. Just shows my dresses we not ordered when they were supposed to be and they get you to pay full price for something they are getting a discount on. The bridesmaids dresses came in 2 weeks before my wedding, unorganized and wrong. One of the dresses was a completely different color grey than the other two and a size that we didn't order at all ( I figure it was the dress off the floor since that was the size and it was no longer on the floor since the week before when I went in to check) 3 of the dresses were supposed to have pockets, only one dress ended up having pockets. And we had to completely alter 2 out of the 3, so why did I have my girls travel from Woodbridge, richmond, Florida, and stafford to be sized when they weren't even ordering the correct size. Also the owner told the alterations people to put all the prom and everyone else's stuff aside and get this done. Just rude to those people who had nothing to do with her company's mistakes. Since the dresses came in so late one of my bridesmaids even had to call out of work to be able to get there and try it on to prove it wasn't going to work with her sick baby. Then the owner wanted to make a whole new back so it would allow extra room with a "dress the same material and color back at the shop that she WOULDNT MIND CUTTING UP." So when we asked what plan b would be if this didn't turn out since it wouldn't be done til 2 days before the wedding day. She said we didn't need one that this would work. Well 3 minutes later she tells us the dress company just called and is sending us another one..... but I thought we didn't need a plan b? Fast forward to a few days later when that dress came in from the company (took 2 days to get that...so why did we have to order 3-4 months ahead of time?) it was 4 sizes too big? I just don't understand any of this because no one was being straight up with us. Yes the owner paid for the alterations, gave me a bottle of wine, and a free garter, but none of that makes up for a nightmare that could have been avoided and expecting exceptional customer service. Apparently according to Valerie my wedding date, May 20 2017 will go down in history as a nightmare for the dress companies. Or maybe just don't lead your clients on. read more

Her dress was ordered in June, it is now the end of April and she still doesn't have her dress and just keeps getting the run around. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else! I found the perfect dress and put the deposit down on it and was told that the dress would take 4-6 months to arrive, which was in June. After 7 months and no update, I call the shop and nobody has answers and they tell me they'd call me back, never got any phone calls. Later on, I go in the shop to ask about my dress. The lady behind the counter tells me it will not be here until the beginning of April. Uh okay? I go in the first weekend of April, no dress. Then at this point I'm so annoyed and I just don't want to deal with this business anymore, so I ask for my money back. The lady gets the store owner who tells me she has already ordered the dress from the manufacturer and the only way to cancel my order would be if I forfeit my money. She even had the audacity to ask why I wanted it right then! She tells me she'd call the manufacturer that coming Monday and then call me with an update. I left the shop in tears. Monday comes and goes and I don't receive a phone call. She calls me Tuesday and says my dress will be here April 29th. Here we are, April 29th, I called the shop and they STILL don't have my dress. The lady that answered told me the estimated shipping date was today and it wouldn't be here for another week "or so" ... Go elsewhere!! read more
