I have been going to this spa for years now, and have always left feeling much better compared to when I arrive. They have added heated neck wraps for you when you arrive which even in this summer heat is amazing! Emily is my constant go to, she listens and focuses on the areas that I want her to target, and her technique is stellar. I have had multiple major spine surgeries, I have 3 artificial joints, and lots of hardware implanted throughout my body so when I need a massage, I really need a massage. Some massage therapists are very knowledgeable and treat you based on what you want, while others do what they think is best without really listening to you. They also vary in timing, you can pay for 90 mins and some therapists will get done in 80, others 85, but never the full reserved time in my experience. Im not very outspoken so it sucks when you're paying $120 (not including the tip....) and leaving the place not completely happy/feeling relaxed. There are other spots in town that offer more consistent services (and for much more reasonable prices compared to here). One pro is that this establishment is more professional seeming (announce they're washing hands before/after, give you water and go over some at home exercises to do in between sessions), so not all terrible, just not worth it (imo) for the price. I've tried 4 different therapists here (in my 5 years living in Bloomington) and Tanya G seems to be their best (I never tried Amber but heard good things abut her). Lastly, this one is probably a minor "complaint" and totally not related to the therapists but in one of my last times I was there, as I was waiting to check out/pay, I overheard the front desk receptionist tell the lady in front of me "people typically tip 20%, thats what is usually acceptable" after the lady had said "ooh and tip too" and it made me feel inclined to tip over $20 on a not so great service to begin with (I used to tip $10 there). I don't love this recent culture of pressurizing customers to tip (especially when you're charging premium prices). read more

The facility was clean and well laid out and the waiting area was a nice transitional area to be in before and after my massage. Kevin, my massage therapist, was excellent! He had an exceptional understanding of anatomy, was very pleasant and listened attentively to my needs, and did a great job providing the deep pressure massage that I requested. Scheduling online was easy and I was visiting from out of town and had back and neck pain from traveling. Arriving and being able to use the bathroom and being greeted warmly was great. Everything was quiet, dark and calm which I appreciated. Amber started on time and she seemed very nice. I had paid for a 90 minute therapy massage. I think Amber spent too much time with me on my stomach and by the time we flipped over, I had a sinus headache or some kind of headache and it never really went away. I had to ask for a compress for my eyes to try to help with the pressure that had been created, and I only was on my back I think for less than 30 minutes This was disappointing because I had asked for an arm massage on both arms and I only got a massage on the right arm. I had told her I didn't want my neck or arms pulled and she still used a towel to kinda pull my neck and I didn't say anything, but I wish that she hadn't done that Because I left there with a headache and I do think it was stemming from my neck. I did tell her that I had had neck surgery and I didn't want anything pulled. I did not get a hand or finger massage and I told her I was a musician and I Wished she had done that especially because she had hot stones. I was kind of disappointed there was no aromatherapy used of any kind that I could detect. I also did not get a scalp massage and if I did, it might've only been for a couple minutes, which was kind of disappointing. I did appreciate her showing me some exercises in the waiting room but for $210 I did expect a more thorough massage of the front and back of my body. She only put hot rags on my feet. She never massaged my feet at all except for maybe 15 seconds. I think she is a very nice person, but I just didn't feel like the Massage met your price. It was an average massage but not an extraordinary massage worth $210 and I left there with a slight headache, which is always disappointing. I would definitely consider coming back. I would just try a different Masseuse. I'm glad there was music playing because I could hear people talking either above us or beside us and that really bothers me in a massage, so I'm glad that there was music to kind of drowned out people talking. My partner booked me an appointment for my birthday a few weeks ago. I had never had a professional massage before. He signed me up for "The Rub" I believe, which is a 90 minute session. Emily made me feel 100% comfortable. As a person who has touch anxiety and trauma, I couldn't have asked for a better first experience. I specifically like the hot towel at the very end. Afterwards, the massage therapist sat down with me and talked to me about my massage and let me know how I could benefit from more sessions. I was even asked if I'd like water or tea when I come out. The room you enter from and end in is a super relaxing, dark room. I like that you don't come right out into a fluorescent lighted area. Definitely a 5 star rating from me ! read more

Kevin was so respectful of my boundaries. He always checked up on me to make sure I wasn't in too much pain. He adjusted the massage when my arm bothered me too much. He educated me on what he was doing and why I felt pain where I felt it. He even gave me extra time. This was my first real professional massage where you get naked and i don't think it could have gone better. i came from california to visit a friend for spring break and i treated her for her birthday. we both got hour long lala massages. the wait time was brief and i had an excellent/thorough conversation with my masseuse over my body and needs; places that needed extra attention (like my shoulders from having terrible posture) and places that were more sensitive. i went in feeling really safe and there was hot tea waiting for me when i came out. i would def consider coming here again if/when i'm back out in bloomington. read more
