We came here to volunteer. There are two different buildings, one for groceries and the other for clothing. We met a nice volunteer who guided us to the volunteer check in center. It was a first time for my daughter and I but they were very nice with giving us a brief tour about both facilities, how they worked, when they expected deliveries, and how people were able come in via appointment or walk in to get clothing (point system) and groceries. Everyone was so nice. It was a great first experience for my daughter for her volunteer service so we definitely would come back to do the grocery side. read more

This is a great community resource! Whether you are partaking in their many services offered or doing some solid volunteering. I have spent countless hours in the grocery helping wherever I am needed. Reently, they needed all hands on deck to help fill boxes of non-perishable food for the increased need and influx of clients. It's fulfilling for both the givers and the receivers. read more

Im so greatful for organization that genuinely help people in need! it's really a gift from god! BUT, I have been going to the action center for a few months now and I have to say, EVERYTHING they are giving people is either spoiled, out dated. I was so upset, everything they gave me I had to throw away the very next day, from the fruit, vegetable, meat, cheese. the sad part about it, the volunteers treat you like your three they have to hand walk you to every freezer touch on your food put it in the basket. Tell you what you can and cannot have like they're bringing it out of their pocket.. it's almost shameful! I have also notice the volunteers treating Black people a little different and they treated me. There is some discrimination. Even with the pet pantry, I've noticed discrimination against Black people. I have been holding this in for months. this place needs to be investigated and the food needs to be inspected. it's a wonder someone hasn't gotten sick! I appreciate the help, but I don't want to become ill from a non profit that is profiting from the less fortunate. read more

The items donated here go to families that have been screened for need. Anything they can't use goes to a general public "good junk" sale and funds help the Action Center. Excellent service for those who truly need help. They also have a food bank. And, in the fall they gather school supplies and backpacks for those in need. read more

We needed help with food for the week so we found this food bank. At first it looked a bit disorganized as we got there 30 minutes early and no one was in sight except "customers" lining down the street. As a new comer we had no clue what we were to do at this food bank so we used the walk up. The staff is very rude and gave us straight judgment on everything as we didn't know what to do. They didn't treat us the same as everyone else such as giving us moldy food and no choice of meat. Don't go if you're younger, they discriminate. read more

It doesn't matter if you are in crises or just need a few extra groceries until your next pay check, the action center can help you. They have extra programs that offer even more assistance. Human resources of jeffco are available on certain days to help with food stamps, even. Patricia in the pathways program is fabulous. Just fabulous. She works one on one with women in evaluating their priorities. She helps you set goals and then create manageable steps to get there.
