Appalling customer service. And the director has on his linked in about being impressed by how you treat others. Appalling how your company have treated me. Multiple smashed windows on fitting initially, dents on the sill, wrong sill fitted, wrong colour of sill, faded hinges, screeching hinges and scratches/roller marks repeatedly on replacement windows. Endless days off and now still supplying chipped and scratched windows with roller marks. Endless delays and multiple excuses. No compensation for all the time off. Will escalate to trading standards if not resolved this month. Team refusing to escalate to director. I would have thought they wanted to avoid a public internet display of their failing standards when he could easily be tweeted? Bizarre way to run a company. Highly suggest avoiding. read more

We had composite doors fitted on 21st November 2016 and have had nothing but problems. Three days after fitting, both doors had to be readjusted as they were out of alignment and were extremely difficult to lock. One of the doors was cracked and we had to wait for another fitting date. Back door is acceptable but the front is another story. Four months later Camden group (manufacturer) visited for an inspection and confirmed door was indeed badly fitted (door frame bowed, unable to lock without extreme force, door badly marked due to hitting locking mechanisms, waterproof seals ripped). The manufacturer also removed a security lock to allow the door to lock securely! Now, after a flurry of snow we have water ingress around several of the door windows. An absolute disgrace for a door which cost £1350. This is bad enough but their customer service is appalling with complete reluctance to address these issues. Five months since installation and still no resolution so it looks like trading standards and potential court case for us. I've bought triple glazed windows from these guys due to my windows only being secondary glazed. The windows where first class but the fitters that they use are not they turned up in a clamped out van and found them to be no more than cow boys. I noticed when they left that the window sills not level and the fitting was a little on the rough side. Just over a year after the fitting two of the windows have failed, and will need replaced. I wii be using another company to do the work. read more

Guarantee wasn't worth the paper it was written on. Had a conservatory built that started to bow and the seals blew on three of the roof panels. Couldn't contact them so went to premises in EK. Not very impressive. Salesman came out and quoted me £16,000 then £14,000 to put on a roof to make the conservatory safe. Even after registered letter requesting that they honour their guarantee there was no response. Got another company to do the work for £5,000!! Did have contact from a verbally abusive owner. A bully. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. I spent a lot of money with them which I now regret. read more

Contacted The Advanced Group about getting some work done. Estimator came out by the name of George or Graham can't quite remember his name but certainly recall the utter bull he was spouting. Guaranteed a call back and a quote via email the very next day. 1 week later still no phone call or email. Called them chasing it up and spoke with Louise in their office who confirmed she would get the aforementioned to call me back as a matter of urgency. Another week passed and nothing received so opted to get other quotes elsewhere and job has now been completed. Absolutely disgusting customer service or should I say lack of it. Please take heid of this review and stay well away from this company. Save your time and effort and take your business elsewhere. read more

Fear them and stay away like the plague! Bought a new house which had triple glazing installed by previous owners from this company. Owners left us a transferable 10 year gurantee for them. Found a fault with water leaking in, rang the company, send them the guarantee to transfer into our names. Chased them for over a week, emails and phone calls until eventually they admit to having received the letter, which they denied for many days. They later ring me back and state they did not issue this guarantee, and they have no proof of payment the windows were ever paid for! What company in their right mind would issue a guarantee for their product unless they had been paid!? I also have proof of a cover note with their company details on it stating the type of windows and an energy report on the windows, as well as of course the guarantee with their details on, but still they won't accept it and therefore won't investigate my fault. Rude, abrupt customer service when I have spoke to them on the phone, treat you like an idiot, talk over you and play dumb. Want my advice? DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I'm now pursuing action with Trading Standards and Office Of Fair Trading, whilst spreading the word about this company to save others the pain. If you don't believe me, just google them and read other horror stories for yourself. read more

Good Job Very Happy Advanced windows recently put in new double glazing throughout my flat and I am very happy with the work and the finish. The installer guys were very friendly and professional and more importantly tidy making sure to clean up behind them. I feel i would recommend this company as my experience was pain free and the price seemed competitive. I cant make any complaint and that makes me happy as we all know double glazing companies have a reputation. Happy to say advanced windows are worthy of a good one. Thanks. roofline fitted sept 2010. part of downpipe came off after a couple of weeks then guttering started to leak which took several attempts to repair, then one of the fascia panels came off the gable end. Those were all seen to by Advanced workmen. In Dec/Jan last winter parts of the gable end came off four times so we tried to contact the repair dept, but never got an answer despite many calls. We went up to the ir office in Newtonhill and they didnt get an answer either. On three occasions they sent fax messages marked urgent but they got no response either. As a result we had to get emergency work done by other firms and eventually the gable end had to be redone completely. When this was done photographs were taken of the work done by Advanced. That included one of my tiles the broke and never told me about, bits cut too short and nails they used missing their target so were not fixed on properly. Also the old parts of the original gable end had only partly been removed so they had tried to fix the new parts on top of it. With the help of the photographs and Trading Standards I eventually got a refund for getting the gable end redone but not the emergency work. If you are ever tempted to use this company I suggest you give Trading Standards a call as they have rather a large file about Advanced. Would not reccomend them for anything read more

I suggest you look elsewhere for your garage. The 2 stars I have given are only because I did…read moreeventually get a garage. Over £11,000 for a small lean-to garage: I paid the £1,810 deposit on 31st January 2024 and £2,400 on 10th May 2024 for their imminent groundwork. I then paid the final £7,210 on 19th September 2024 and eventually I got a garage 8 months after ordering. Concrete Garages Scotland has been a complete nightmare to deal with for the past 20 months! Dozens of their 'planned dates' for the groundwork were repeatedly cancelled, with delay after delay, excuse after excuse. It took them 8 months to eventually lay the concrete base which was initially scheduled for 6th May , but this & the dozens of their subsequent planned dates were all repeatedly cancelled with all sorts of excuses. The concrete base was eventually laid on 17th September 2025, over 4 months after taking the ' imminent' payment for it, No digging was done, no hardcore was laid, and no DPC was put down below the porous concrete. I complained and got £250 refunded from my £2,400 for them to lay a pre-mixed concrete load onto the ground. Even now, a year after the install, I've been chasing them to resolve and fully complete their garage installation, as their itemised 'weatherboard' is missing and which is allowing water to come in under the door. They also have reneged on their promise to supply an electric motor as a form of recompense for all the delays & the hassle I have experienced. I suspect this is because I refused their high costs to fit the motor, saying I'd do it myself. Despite the ongoing frequent failed promises to get back to me, they are now completely ignoring my emails & my calls - hence prompting this late review. The garage did arrive & was erected soon after CGS had laid the base, so the actual manufacturer's delivery & their installation was fine. All the delays & hassles were entirely with CGS. Over 70 emails & dozens of calls & issues still remain unresolved some 20 months on. If you already have a suitable base then your experience may be better, but I'd honestly go elsewhere.

We had to reschedule the build of our shed because of a misunderstanding and a lack of information from the people who dismantled our old shed. They didn't clearly tell us what we had to do in order for the builders, who would arrive on a different day and were different workers, to put up our shed. I stopped by the office as I was told I had to contact the Barras Shed Co. to reschedule. The owner, I believe as it was an older man, treated me like I was stupid for not knowing that I was supposed to call some other shed building number, then when I tried to ask another question he wouldn't look at me and said "Can I get back to work now?" When we had previously dealt with a younger man there he was absolutely pleasant and helpful. The experience with the owner was so bad I was driven to make sure his company was poorly reviewed. It's nice that they'll take down and put up your new shed, but make sure you get clear instructions on what you need to do to prepare. The sheds are ok. I wouldn't say they're of incredible quality - they're fine, though I was surprised by some of the things I'm seeing in the wood and fastenings now that we have it. Without the owner experience I would've given a 3.

No one came to help me in the five minutes or so I stood looking trying to work out what was what in terms of makes and pricing. During this time a man came into the shop, clearly a friend of one of the men inside the counter. They started speaking in very animated voices, swearing and chatting in a manner I did not think was very good for other customers. When I asked for help, one of the men came over and seemed very bored by my queries. When he said that he couldn't get a certain worktop for two weeks I said I would need it sooner and he looked at me like I was completely daft. He did not offer further help or make any suggestions. It would appear that Rearo do not read their reviews as the user in 2010 was treated in the same way. B & Q are really much nicer, more respectful to their customers and although a big store I am definitely choosing it in the future. I would also say to women that PLEASE do not use this store. Two men came in in the time I was there and were helped straight away.

Job 2: convert garage to bedroom steps into the room were left bare with nails left sticking out and no hardwood flooring as agreed cable t.v. was not connected as agreed and the concrete screed was badly rippled and is visible through the carpet the door was fitted the wrong way round and the handle keeps coming off as a result Job 3: Convert bedroom dinning room to kitchen dinner foot lights and pelmet lights only partially work the foot board under dishwasher falls off regularly and 1 of the cabinet doors has fallen off because of bad fitting Job4: convert kitchen to bathroom the ceiling was unfinished no paint or cornice tiles were fitted badly and were not sealed and grouting was incomplete as a result the underfloor heating is unusable because water has got in and it trips the fuse. Some the tiles were also chipped the bath was not secured and was damaged as a result towel rail was left unsecured with parts missing and no door bar on the floor Job5: Convert bathroom to utility room the door on floor was not fitted the flooring in the hallway was lifted to run new drainage and replaced very badly leaving gaps all over it. The job ran £4000 over budget and Stephan Frier will not answer a text or a phone call he has retained all of or paperwork so our new kitchen has no warranty and we've spent £200 to replace our door locks because he kept our keys. So if you are looking for a cowboy he's the man

On 30/11/2012 I signed for 2 years interest free credit to pay for my windows and patio door. Suited me as I am a pensioner and given the assurance no money would have to be paid by me till I signed off a Satisfaction Note, an official bank document on completion of the installation to my satisfaction. A good guarantee they told me. The fitters came on 10-11/12/2012 to install 3 windows and a patio door. On completion the following was noted. 1. 1 window undersize - to be replaced. 2. 1 window warped. - to be replaced. 3. 1 window has broken glass - glass to be replaced. 4. patio door oversize and not suction tight - to be replaced. 34 defects/issues noted. Workmanship terrible, I requested fitters be removed. At the end of the shift on 11/12/2012 the fitter handed me a Satisfaction Note with the comment " I don't suppose you'll be signing this. " This is the only time I received a Satisfaction Note to sign. I still have this Satisfaction Note dated 11/12/12. I called Advanced Windows (Scotland ) Ltd. every day 10 to 14 December 2012 to cancel finance and was always told not to worry nothing sent to bank. Sent them an Email on 13/12/2012 to cancel the finance within 14 day cancellation period. Continued calling them up to Christmas but always told not to worry nothing has been forwarded to the bank. Unknown to me Advanced windows had forwarded a signed off Satisfaction Note to the bank on 10/12/2012 to obtain the money. I did not sign this document. I still have my Satisfaction Note dated 11/12/12. I received a letter from the bank telling me my first payment due on 13/01/2013. The same fitters returned on 16/01/2013. Fitter rude and abrupt again, asked to have him removed again. On completion the following was noted - 1. Door not suction tight top and bottom as previous door - needs to be replaced. 2. Kitchen wallpaper severely damaged. 3. Scratches and scrapes down my stair wall. 4. Debris in bath and on floor. They tried to repair the door but were unsuccessful. 5 other independent companies inspected but could not repair the door. I contacted Police Scotland who carried out a criminal investigation regards the signature on the Satisfaction Note. I was also in contact with The Ombudsman, In-Court Legal Services, Citizens Advice, Victim Support and Trading Standards to help and assist me. The supplier has ignored numerous Emails and phone calls from me since December 2012, they have even made appointments and never turned up. Through the Ombudsman the finance has finally been written off December 2014. read more

I had 10 triple glazed windows and triple glazed French doors installed on the 25/26th of January. Fitters came early on both mornings and worked throughout the day without any breaks. Both fitters were very friendly and said they had been in the business for nearly 20 years. As was expected with a relatively large job there were a few issues, some of which were fixed on the same day of the installation and the rest on the two subsequent visits. Throughout the time of getting the windows installed and reporting issues to getting them fixed the customer service was very good. I just had to call, text or email their customer service department who organised someone to come out to look at the issues in a quick turnaround. Now that everything is sorted, the house is much warmer and very quiet (we live near a train station). There is also a 15 year guarantee which adds that bit of peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Advanced Group from the sales to the aftercare they have been great. read more

People, never ever buy anything from this company The advanced Group company sucks. They give me a quote for a french door and we signed a contract then after not hearing back from them for two months I called them to find out when my doors were going to be delivered and by my shock this is the answer I go from their Sales Manager: " Ops sorry we forgot to add on the VAT to your original quote so that is why we never made your door" After two on months!! this is a disgrace, so unprofessional I would never ever recommend anybody to buy anthing from this company! Be aware of malicious companies and people like this one!there are everywhere. Thanks read more

Excellent service from start to finish. The triple glazing product is fantastic giving excellent heat retention and sound proofing. The installers could not have been better. The whole house had 12 new windows in a day and a half and afterwards there was no mess and no sign that any work had been done at all as the windows were made to look identical to the old wooden ones that were removed. Couldn't be happier and would recommend the company to anyone looking for good quality replacement windows at a reasonable price. read more

They were by far the most cost effective quote we received, the salesman was friendly and honest. When it came to the fit the guys were courteous and tidy and they did an excellent job. I would give this company no stars if I could. Sub standard work, awful customer service. I have had approximately 18 visits since the windows were fitted last year and am now trying to get compensation from them. Windows were drafty, one of them leaked and took them 4 months to figure out what was casuing it. Terrible company. i'm sure we'll see them on cowboy builders one day read more

My wood burning stove is absolutely fantastic. Usually with my central heating on full blast by living room will sit at about 74 degrees but with the stove it is sitting at 85 degrees. I had to get my wife to open the door in order to heat the rest of the house! read more
