Which is nice since most studios do 60 minute sessions but it's nice to have enough time to really warm up. They had a cute little tea station, accessories for you to use to film, and lots of equipment to stretch. The lighting is everything! Plants everywhere, mood lighting, high ceilings. I appreciate that Katie knows how to work with me as I am very "flexy" which make some moves uncomfortable. Katie offers tips and tricks as well as modifications that have allowed me to safely accomplish moves that were previously uncomfortable. Karla is fun, calm, supportive and extremely encouraging. Karla's approach and style of teaching and coaching is very unique in the sense that Karla often focuses on how moves feel in the body versus how they look- I absolutely love this! Karla creates a safe and comfortable environment for me to express myself and reconnect and explore mind and body connection. Both Katie and Karla are great assets to the industry. Aresha is kind, professional, quick to respond to emails/calls/texts, and always delivers great customer service. The studio is a vibe- I appreciate the lighting because it makes all the difference. An area for improvement to consider is the ratio of class size to pole availability. Classes are often overbooked which forces us to share poles. This reduces the amount of time we spend using a pole while still having to pay the full rate for less pole time.

First off, it is an odd area and when you first walk into the business complex it seems a bit sketchy. It is not. You are in the right place! The studio itself is beautiful and cozy with lots of mirrors and a nice seating area. My first beginners class with Thalia I was the only student! What could have been horrifying and awkward turned out amazing. Thalia is a very knowledgable instructor- patient, supportive and incredibly sweet. She will push you through and not let you get away with half-hearted moves. :-) On top of all this, the environment in just fun. The classes are small and everyone gets a pole. I've honestly found a few other studios to be a little catty at worst and confusing at best (example - no clear trajectory for learning, and when you do sign up for a class that's too hard, no ability to downgrade to something you can do without getting hurt!). At Studio 4 everyone is happy to answer my questions and suggest things I might like to try as well as explain moves without any judgement! Love the variety of Studio 4's classes and that you can get a LOT of choreo in! Super welcoming environment for all kinds of people!

I finally tried a class. It was only me and one other student. It seemed like everything was fine, and then the class actually started and the warm-up began, and then the instructor and the only other student in the class started a private conversation while the music was playing and while the teacher was instructing the entire warm-up... It was so awkward and weird. I can obviously hear every word as well as her instructing in between they even made a few jokes between themselves and I awkwardly laughed myself because I didn't know what else to do. This was the first five minutes of class. So in the room with three of us during my first class, I was left out of a private conversation while I was also being included in the warm-up it was really uncomfortable. It was just rude. I've taken a lot of Dance classes of all styles and I have never seen or experienced anything like that. It was a very passive aggressive way to let me know that I'm not important or welcome. If you aren't a part of the social group or work a 9-to-5 job it's not a welcoming environment in class - in my experience. If you are a stripper first and then get into pole dance classes this probably won't work out for you as far as taking classes and trying to train in class. If you're interested in exotic pole dancing, I wouldn't recommend it for classes. But I would recommend getting the membership and using the studio for open pole. Tried out the newbie's pole class recently. I have zero experience with pole and was pretty nervous…read moregoing in. I arrived 20 minutes early and was given a tour of the gym by the staff. Another person and I taking the class were told they would open the door to the pole studio 10 minutes before, as they only give the code to gym members. The other person and I waited outside for 15 minutes; we were also joined by 2 other people waiting, but no one opened the door for us. We knocked multiple times, and a staff member had to unlock the door for us. We entered the studio during the class, which had already started. Immediately, the instructor by the name of Nina berated us and told us how rude it was that we were 15 minutes late and made the 4 of us do jumping jacks. I was instantly turned off and almost got up and left the class due to the instructor's behavior. The class was not beginner-friendly; she went through demos extremely fast, and the overall unwelcoming vibe from Nina was the worst way to introduce me to pole. Thankfully, this experience did not turn me away completely from pole, but I will be taking my business somewhere that is more welcoming and friendly. I DO NOT reccomend this place for beginners, and I DO NOT reccomend Nina as an instructor.

This is a review for the lessons, not the Sunday swing. We…read morewent to a "Lindy 101" lesson from stumptown that was $25 each and two hours long and barely even danced the basic to music by the end. It was painfully slow, way over explained and allowed almost no practice-just a lot of the instructor talking. I don't feel like anyone there who didn't walk in already knowing how to do Lindy left with the ability to try Lindy outside of a classroom setting. It felt like a swindle honestly. I've been to a lot of lessons from many teachers and this was by far the least useful. Mindy is really nice and she knows her stuff in how to dance but, she is not a great teacher (at least not in large group setting) and the lesson was way overpriced for what it was. Everything taught in that lesson could have been covered in about 20mins. Just go to the pre dance lessons on Sunday and you'll be better off, or look on YouTube and then just go dance!
