This is a very cute bubble tea shop, with a good selection of drinks to choose from whether you like bubble tea, or just milk drinks with tapioca or if you are not in the mood for the dairy product, they also have fruit tea available. I like the fact that they let you customize the ice and sugar level. I tried the Royal No.9 milk tea today and it's delicious. Honestly The Alley is usually a hit or miss based on who owns the shop, but this place definitely hits. I ordered the Lime Aloe Tea, which was very flavorful but not too sweet. The workers were nice and this place was definitely packed, even on a chilly winter day. Will probably come back again before we leave Toronto. read more

This was my first time trying The Alley and I'm glad I finally did. They have a lot of creative drinks on their menu. I got the Strawberry Crunch Milk Tea, which is actually a slush, and it was delicious. I recommend no added sugar, as it was still plenty sweet. The boba were qq and the strawberry jam-like add-on was so good. The interior is bigger than I expected with a few couches to sit down and relax at. The staff was really friendly. He inquired if I wanted any recommendations and once I told him I did he asked what I like to help narrow down the choices on the large menu. I appreciated that he was interested in assisting me, the customer, and not standing behind the counter indifferent as the case is most of the time. It didn't take long for our drinks to be ready. In terms of seating there's bar like seating in front of the windows, a few tables and chairs or armchairs and bench like seating against the wall with small tables in front of them. My deerioca matcha was perfect. It wasn't too sweet, the boba were cooked just right, the matcha flavour was strong to the very end of the drink and the amount of ice was not excessive. read more

My family came with me to the grand opening. They were giving out 100 milk tea series large drinks with free toppings starting at 3:00pm, on Sat and Sun. All day, you can get 15% off any of 8 specialty drinks. We lined up for 1h10m before finally getting our drinks. We were 85, 86 and 87. We got the following free drinks: 1. The Alley Trio Fresh Milk Tea, large, $6.00 - pineapple jelly, rainbow jelly, tapioca 2. Winter Melon Punch, large, $5.10 - added rainbow jelly 3. Royal No. 9 Fresh Milk Tea, large, $5.50 - tea leaves are roasted with blueberries to get the flavouring The staff are very courteous and helpful. Took almost 2 months to gaslight me about withdrawing $15 out of my alley rewards account without my permission. Been going to the alley since it's first location near Wellesley station since it's opening 2018. It's so simple to fix an issue a small issue with a long-term customer who's spent well over $2,000 in bubble tea at your franchise? Admit your mistake, add the money or give the equivalent taken out in bubble teas. I don't get how a business would prefer lose a loyal customer by not righting their wrongs than do something so simple. Heartbreaking. I recommended this bubble tea place to so many, but this is the end of that. At this point I'll use the last of my remaining points & quit the alley for good. This isn't my usual Alley location, mostly because I'm never in this area. I ordered my usual yesterday (Royal No. 9 with tapioca) and made my way to my hair appointment close by. I was disappointed to find that the tapioca was WAY under-cooked and almost hard on the inside still. I had already sat down at the chair in the hair salon so I didn't go back to ask for a solution, but I definitely won't be coming back to this location. The Alley makes fantastic drinks and they always cook their tapioca just right - soft and chewy, not over done. So happy to see they're expanding in locations! Being on Bloor street, parking is minimal. Otherwise, it's very close to Christie station. This location is fairly small but still offer plenty of seating. It does get very crowded with everyone waiting. Weekends are bad; Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes for your drink. The Alley makes some of the best brown sugar boba drinks. Check it out! read more

I heard about The Alley through my friend, and had a great first experience. I've passed by it a few times, but honestly thought it was a meat store. Happy I went! Definitely Insta-worthy. Branding is very nice. Shop is also very cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Not very big on the inside so not a lot of seating. That being said, my group went on a Friday night and was able to get a table for four. Line moved well. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu (I had some questions since it was my first time coming here). I got the Guava Lime Juice because I tend to go for the fruity instead of milky flavours. It took quite a few minutes to get my drink but it was worth the wait. The flavours tasted real and fresh. When watching the employees making the drinks, you could see the care they put into them. If you're someone who likes fruity juice flavours, you may like the Guava Lime Juice. It was a cold beverage over ice (I got less ice). Very flavourful. On the tart side because of the lime. Also there was pulp (in case you're not a fan). My friend got a Brown Sugar Deerioca and loved it because it was sweet and tastes like brown sugar. The tapioca was also very good, not over done. I was impressed with The Alley compared to other bubble tea shops I've been to. The staff was great. I liked the quality and taste of the drink I got. I've been here twice so far and will definitely come back many more times. I like that there are always cool looking drinks that don't disappoint on flavour. With the innovative menu and a cool clean atmosphere, I think it's the best bubble tea shop in town now. I really liked the northern lights drink. It has many colourful layers and starts off with an eye-opening strong sweet/sour that gently eases out to a cool splash as you walk down the street in the hot sun. The Devil Lychee drink was super flavourful with lots of real lychee. I like how its lightly salty foam topping keeps the drink looking awesome as you drink it. read more

The Alley is holding the current Championship title of my bbtea list. I believe this store opened recently as it wasn't in the area when I came up to Korea Town several months ago. Tip: Street parking/lot parking available all over Bloor Street in the general area. The store has plenty of seating that is ideal for studying or a date but not big groups of people. The service is excellent. There was a girl in front of me that had 0 idea of the menu and the cashier took the time to explain it to her (& also advised her Oreos do not go in fruity drinks). My drink was made within 5 minutes and is A+ Jasmine Milk Tea with less ice & 50% sugar + tapioca is my GO TO. I heard some pretty good reviews for this place from family and friends, so we decided to give it a try. I am very disappointed. Taste: I shared the Crunchy Brown Sugar Milk Tea (regular size) with a friend and my other friend ordered The Alley Trio Milk Tea (large). Right off the bat, my drink was so sweet. I usually order with 25-30% sugar, so that makes sense since you can't alter the amount of sugar in this particular drink. Even looking past this, the drink had next to no tea flavor. It kind of just tasted like sugar milk. My friend also said that they tasted no tea flavor, as well. I think having that balance of tea and milk is important in bubble tea, but I couldn't find it in this drink. Price: The drink was $7. To me, that is a pretty hefty price for a drink that has been ordered in a regular size and didn't taste that good. Staff: The staff was very nice! They were very friendly and patient when we had no idea what to order. Overall, in my opinion, the drink was not worth the price at all. Of course, everyone has different tastes, so you might like this place, but for me, I don't think I'll be going back. read more

The staff here are super nice and are always helpful if you feel confused about the menu or if you dont know what to order. Inside is really cute and theres lots of seating areas, but when it gets really busy there isn't much space to sit. I've tried a few drinks here and they were all so good. Love love love your coffee!! I have only one complaint lol My favourite drink is your Tiramisu coffee. It is Devine!! The tapioca though is revolting. I want to know why we cannot order it without the 'bubbles'. I love this coffee so much that I still buy it and spit the tapioca into a bowl. Tapioca adds no flavour it is just for visual and texture. It actually spoils the drink for me. If I'm will to pay the same price why can't I request that it is omitted from the drink. l would pay more not to have those little balls of grossness in my drink. read more

One of my fav bbt places because of the bitterness of their teas. I also like their sweet options like the derrioca fever (IMO best brown sugar compared to other bbt brands). Royal no9 black tea and derrioca fever are my favourites. The place is small but does have adequate amount of seating. I got the Royal No. 9 tea, with pearls (less sweet and no ice, which is what I get at other stores too). The drink was amazing!! The tea leaves are roasted with blueberries, and the blueberry taste is subtle but soo good. The pearls were cooked to a good chewy texture. The service was pretty good too, as the cashier answered my questions and gave us samples of another tea. Close to $7 for the liquids to only go halfway up the cup and made full with a hefty scoop of ice is definitely not worth it. Also made me wait a good 10 minutes as they were making the tapioca fresh. Despite this, the tapioca was still hard and undercooked. read more

Used to love this place and went all the time with friends! Tonight I asked for an iron goddess tea with added almond milk. The lady taking my order gladly agreed. When I received my drink it was black tea without milk. I asked if she could please add milk to it. She said to do so she would need to remake the entire drink and that would be an issue. I apologized and said I did actually order it with milk. She disagreed with me and said I didn't order that and I said something different. The whole encounter was uncomfortable for myself and my sister, who witnessed it all and obviously confirmed I did in fact ask for milk. I was not upset about the way the drink was made, but more how the woman serving me treated me like I was making a huge problem and was in wrong. I think customer service goes a long way because unfortunately I will not be going back. It's worth it to simply add milk (even if this might mean remaking it) rather than shaming a customer and losing their business in the future. Shame because I really liked this place!!!! But when I pay $5.50 for a cup of tea they made wrong, and made me feel bad for, I can't go back. read more
