This is a very friendly pub in the town of Hazelbury Bryan. One afternoon we stopped and asked directions to another establishment of some patrons having a cigarette out front. Later we decided to pop in for a nightcap, and they recognized us, and were immediately friendly. I'm used to walking into a country pub and having the room go quiet. That's pretty much to be expected in most places on the planet, outside of the big cities. But it was immediately obvious here that people wanted to engage, they were genuinely friendly, and we even made some friends here! They offer the usual drinks and beers, but also a few craft beers like Tribute, and some great single malt scotches like Oban and Lagavulin.
We didn't get a chance to try the food, but we were told it was fine. I'd say the main selling point is that you get a comfortable place to drink, and if you're willing to have a converstation with the locals and bar staff, you'll have an enjoyable overall visit. read more
