Patio seating - the view is amazing, and so is the food

Wow what an amazing place - the people, service, food, location, and views. Warning: you will want to linger and take your time as you enjoy the food, venue, and view. Came here with cousins and ended up staying for 3 hours just loving it all.

Stunning place. I had a layover in Auckland and decided to take a trip to Waiheke. The Archive did not disappoint. I took the road and walked up to the Mudbrick Winery, which is where the Archive is located. It took about half an hour - 45 min from the ferry. The landscape is beautiful; vineyards, ocean, hills and Auckland as the backdrop. This place was an easy 5 stars. The owner obviously has his stuff put together. The landscaping was well done and there is nothing to complain about there, as you can see with the pictures. Venue: 5. I had the pleasure of having Chevonne as my server. She was completely swamped when I visited. And yet she was courteous, kind and welcoming to questions and suggestions. 6 stars for Chevonne. I ordered the King Fish. It was a pretty expensive entree and I was actually dosappointed when it came out. There wasn't a whole lot to it, not a ton of fish and a pretty small dish for the price. Then, I took a bite. Wow, flavor explosion in the mouth, let me tell you. Try it when you go, the avocado, orange, herbs and king fish paired together was amazing. Food: 5. The wine tasting was great; it cost $15 NZ with generous pours. I toon my time exploring the venue between pours. I am not a fan of pinot noir, but the chardonnay was crisp and refreshing. I ended up with a glass of the chard for my meal. Drinks: 5 The fish and glass of wine cost about $40NZ or $28 USD. Pretty pricey on the entry for the quantity of food, but quality was phenomenal. $$$ Overall: 5 Venue: 5 Service: 5 Food: 5 Drinks: 5 Price: $$$

We had the most amazing dinner here! Most people pay for the view with a sub par meal. But not here. It's an absolutely gorgeous view with the most delicious food. The service was also excellent. Our waiter, Luko, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. We were offered warm blankets when it got chilly. We highly recommend this stop

Pinot Plus is a cozy wine bar in Tapauna that seems to understand that "a meal without wine is…read morelike a day without sunshine." The decor is somewhat typical of European wine bars with its softly lit interior and deep red feature wall. I love the large blackboard and the old wine barrels with bar stools in their street-side seating area. A sommelier is always on hand to offer advice and help you find the right wine to compliment your meal so it is pretty standard to start your dinner with a little wine tasting session. Both sommeliers who served me were friendly and helpful and they went out of their way to help us find the wines that best suited our pallet and/or meal. I love that John Ingle has included a wonderful array of good New Zealand wines on his list. The menu isn't extensive but the meals are usually fabulous and the portions are perfect - if you are into sampling good food, rather than eating bellyful! I have eaten from two of their menus so far and I haven't been disappointed. However, as with most dining experiences some dishes are always going to be that much better. I have added a few comments along with some photos. Pinot Plus has had Grabone vouchers on offer lately - perfect reason to check it out! Please note; you can get a sparking water instead of wine but no other type of beverage here - it is after-all, a wine bar!

Pinot Plus - Entree - a perfect match of fried black pudding and scallops with a fresh salsa. I love eating good food that's well plated!

Pinot Plus - Coconut, lime pannacotta, with all sorts. The pud was a little too firm and there were too many flavours on the plate, for my liking.
