If ripping people off is part of their business model, they're doing a stellar job. If not, they might want to learn the difference between "no returns" and "no integrity." I lost track of what I did with it and they moved to Tri-Cities. Over 20 years later I came across it from one of my boxes in storage. I since moved from Spokane and now live over 3 hours drive from their current location. Last week (September of 2026) I had planned a trip and decided to bring the certificate with me as I was traveling through their area. I spoke to an extremely helpful associate who contacted the current owner of the business and was thankful and amazed to say that she still honored the gift certificate!!! This store is FILLED with soooo much cool stuff. I could've easily had a certificate for $5,000 let alone $50 and still barely scratch the surface of their awesome inventory!!! While I was waiting in line, a customer behind me mentioned that she travels over 100 miles from Pendleton, OR to shop there. I don't blame her! I certainly will be stopping by EVERY time I'm in the area!!! Thank you SOOOO much for honoring the certificate AND operating such an AWESOME store!!! Looking forward to my next visit!!! Although it doesn't excuse the reaction from employee that I recently experienced; As a believer we are called into account to empathize with each other and forgive each other. The owner has a huge heart for service and this community. None of us are perfect and we need eachother. There are always 2 sides to the story as well, so I am sure from her perspective she felt like she was doing the right thing in the moment. Long story short, Went in to get a bible engraved for a young man who I am mentoring that I planned to give the engraved bible to this young man to encourage him in a very tough time in his life, none of the rest of the experience matters after talking with owner, thank you for your time on the phone.

I wanted to get a used copy of Bossypants and the guy helped me find it for $9.50, a total steal. Ninety percent of their books are used and most all are in great quality. You'll also find a cat chilling in the children's book section, giving a cozy, homey feeling. Looking Glass Books is definitely worth a quick stop when driving on I-84.
